The best AMP I know of in the Eastern Suburbs is called Mirage. It's on Ebley St in Bondi Junction which is quite close to the train station. Koolshot737Mate this is Australia and not Asia, all hotels are GF friendly provided of course they don't attract too much attention and you are descrete. As for taking a hooker back for the night if you can afford to do that you can afford a decent hotel, but I wouldn't be taking any Kings Cross streetwalker back for the night. The 2 biggest hostels Base Backpackers and the YHA (near Central Station) both have bars.

I've never heard of the Terminus/al either, not in the phone book. THe Merc's usually good on weekends, when they have muso's in. Further up the hill in the Rocks is the Lord Nelson, or head back along George St towards the city, and Jacksons opposite the Four Seasons Hotel used to be a lively bar.

Yeah, I agree as well.. there's just no comparison for the selection, and overall fun experience over there, as compared to here. I was almost shocked to read how bad some view the mongering scene in Oz. I've only been there twice on business - in October 2005 and again this March. I owe a couple of reports from my more recent visit.

Overall as an American, the things I was struck by were:
