Getting there: Manila – Angeles City
Arriving at NAIA and going up to Angeles City, which is around a two hours drive away north-west, there are a number of options open to you. There are no international flights direct to Clark, that I am currently aware of but a flight from Manila is offered several times a week by Seair www.flyseair.com. Its not a frequent service so your next best bet would be going by bus or car. However, I don’t recommend travelling up at nights or after dark; the crime rate is slowly getting worse. There are currently several airlines in talks to arrange direct air services into Clark, look out for details.
There are several bus options that travel regularly to Angeles but the most well known and fairly useful is: www.swaggy.com/flythebus.htm
Car options range from first asking your hotel if they can collect you when you arrive, Swagman and the Orchid Inn already do this, at a price. Next option, Private Cars in the Arrivals halls there is an office to your left where you can book a car to take you up there. In fact it is very easy to get a car and most taxis will be willing to take you there, if you agree a fixed price first. The price is anywhere between 1,600 Pesos up to 4,000 Pesos, depends on the time of day and your negotiation skills.
My advice to a first time visitor is to spend a day or two in Manila first and travel up later shopping is better in Manila and you can get some cash via ATM or money changer and take it up with you.
Hotels
Obviously Angeles City is the type of place that a majority of guys come to for SEX, easy sex, so let’s make no bones about that. There are a couple of hotels here and you have to make your own judgement call on what you want, a room right in the heart of the action or somewhere quieter that is close by to all of the action. The noise you get is either from fellow guests having a party in their room at 4am with three bar girls or being near a road where you can here Karaoke being sung 24-7 or these unserviced motorbikes that screech up and down Fields Ave.
Will I have a problem bringing girls back to my room?
This is the Philippines I am not aware of any hotel that will restrict or block you taking any girls to your room. In Angeles City you will have no problem taking two, three or four girls back to your room.
You have many options open to you and prices in AC are much cheaper than Manila but then so is the quality of service you may not get the range of services up here like gyms or swimming pools. Two I can recommend from personal experience are www.orchid-inn.com and www.hotelroyalamsterdam.com there are currently two other new hotels being built here, so do keep a look out for them.
Here is a full list of all the hotels in Angeles City www.balibago.com/where_to_stay.html
Getting Around
Angeles City is a relatively small town, not really a city however the options are Tricycles, be warned that some of these tricycle drivers will try to rip you off if you do not agree a price beforehand. Never jump in without agreeing a price first.
Jeepney, easy to use the prices is fixed at 5.50 Pesos the blue Jeepneys take you from the Checkpoint to the Savers, Robinson’s & Nipper Malls down town but it’s a limited route.
Taxis on Field Ave are difficult to find you can find them at the terminal to Clark’s check Point.
Those of you a little adventurous, who really do want to live life to the full; you can easily hire motorbikes from 500 Pesos a day, from many stores along Fields Ave or your hotel will be able to recommend a good dealer. Likewise you can also hire cars at around 1,000 Pesos a day to go further afiield.
ATMs & Cash
There are a couple of ATM machines to be found in the area but do what I usually do, whilst in Manila take out enough cash to get you by for your stay in Angeles; obviously, if you are staying for a long period you will need to locate a ATM machine. There are four banks within a ten minute walk from Field’s Ave and many money changers and for those of you that have spent rather more than you have budgeted for a couple of porn shops that accept cell phones. Robinson’s Mall does not have any ATMs, which is strange for a mall, while the SM Mall in Pampanga has several but the SM mall is around 20 minutes away by taxi and will cost you between 700- 1000 Pesos to get there and back.
For European holders of Maestro, Delta or Switch cards will work in Metrobank and Chinabank ATMs, HSBC and CitiBank are only in Makatia although according to HSBC website that claims to have a branch and ATM in Angeles but I could not find it. Note you need to check with your bank what the charge is for using overseas ATMS, so its not good to keep taking out small amounts of cash.
How much will I need to bring with me?
Its up to you, if you pay for your hotel with a credit card then basically you will just need money for drinking, girls, eating, laundry, cell phone and getting around.
Typical day for a monger
1 girl 1500 Pesos (includes ladies drinks)
1 blowjob 500 Pesos (in the afternoon before you go out)
12 beers 840 Pesos
Dinner for two 700 Pesos
Laundry 70 Pesos
Breakfast for two 700 Pesos
Top up Cell 300 Pesos
Total 4610 Pesos (U$85/£44/€63) @ no of days you stay
However, I doubt you will be spending this amount every day.
Girls
This is Angeles City there are all types up here and generally its difficult to say what is attractive to you would be attractive to me. I walk into a bar and the type of girls I go for are a little older and experience looking the ones, who I think will enjoy sex, which many guys would not go for. I have seen many guys this week and couple of them had gone for girls I wouldn’t touch. Your typical Asian guy or rather I should say Japanese, Korean or Taiwanese would go for the young looking, fair, white skinned, some American and Europeans prefer the darker skinned older types. As for myself I would say if you look hard enough you will find something that will appeal to your taste – if you don’t then you are just too dam fussy. I doubt you will find any beauty queens up here, but having said that many pretty girls do pass through this city on their way to other things, I have met many girls who are going to Japan or have just returned, so go to as many bars as you can and if luck is with you that beauty may just be waiting for you.
Don’t let the door girls cloud your judgement on the quality available inside, all bars employ the prettiest girls to work the door to pull in the customers (obviously!!) I mean if you ran a bar would you keep your beauty queens hidden inside in the dark, whilst you had all the dragons on the door??
Many of the girls here maybe new to working in a bar, some may be naïve to sex so you might have to tutor them a little in bed. If a girl has good looks and gain some experience they will usually head off to other places to make more money. Frequent visitors to AC will notice the changes of girls in the bars. If you are coming here to seek out a wife I would suggest you try other places in the Philippines first, you can meet some nice companions especially if you are going to other places.
My Tip for you is to put on your walking shoes and check out as many bars as you can – you never know what you will find until you look.
Day Time Action
To be honest if you’re coming for the tourist thing up here, I would say there are other places in the Philippines to be for that. However, I have seen a few places that offer tours of Mount Pinatubo but as of yet I have never made one tour up here. If you meet a girl I would recommend you take her to Pampanga Mall or check with the hotel what is available.
Cellphones
It’s easy to find all your cell phone and accessories up here even if you bring a compatible phone from home you can purchase the chip from Globe www1.globe.com.ph/default.aspx or Smart www.smart.com.ph and a charger locally, and top up your phone easily on and around Fields Avenue 24 hours a day. The top floor of Robinson’s has a good choice of new phones for sale latest models also available.
Note Philippino girls are incredible inquisitive, if you leave your cell phone lying around they will check to see who you have been receiving text messages from and which names you have in your address book. Worse still some of the devious ones will transfer credit from your cell to their phones. So keep your phone either in your pocket or locked away.
Computer and Internet
Angeles City like most other cities has several internet café available 24 hours a day; this being the Philippines means it inexpensive in terms of costs. If you travel with a laptop several hotels in AC have rooms with internet access, check their websites for details.
Bar Fines:
I have tried to make a point of visiting as many of the bar in AC to get a realistic idea of bar fines, since on the board there are mixed messages about the bar fines. Yes, it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it.
Contrary to other places when you pay a bar fine here you don’t need to agree an additional price with the girl. Tip only if you want to, but usually the girls will tell you that’s its up to you what you want to pay or how long they can stay for. So your best bet is to bring some small presents for the girls and yes they all like chocolates and treat them right but them dinner or drinks. Most girls will stay all night and will usually have breakfast with you. The bar fine varies between 1000 Pesos and 1250 – 3000 Pesos for the spotlight dancer in the DollHouse. Many guys come up here bar fine a girl they like for several days and take them to Boracay or wherever takes your fancy Cebu, Hong Kong, Paris?.
Note: In a bar dancers, door girls, waitresses and if you really fancy it the mamasan can all be bar fined, although I have never seen anyone actually bar fine a mamasan.
Bars Charging:
1250 Pesos
Blue Nile Executive, Angel, Vodoo, Lollipop
1200 Pesos
Agasya, Treasure Island, Dollhouse, The Flamingo Club, Dirty Duck, Cambodia, Blue Nile,
Geckos, The Owls Nest 1200 [photos], Club Lancelot, The Bedrock, Misty,
Top Cat, Wild Wild West, Brown Sugar, Camelot, Insomnia, Black Jacks, Nero’s, Viper, La Pasha, The Kitten Club, Bunny Bar, Jungle, Stinger, Las Vegas, The Blueberry Hill,
Note: Dollhouse, the 6 or 9 spotlight dancers are bar fined at 3000 Pesos each (U$55/£28/€41) these are the girls who come on and do a sexy routine every 30 minutes throughout the day.
1100 Pesos
DMZ
1000 Pesos
The Wellcome Inn, Bananitas, Rhapsody, La Banitas, Roadhouse, Private Dancer, Butterfly Rocks, D'Club, Bar Hoppin, Lipstick, Stampede, Cherry Club, Gentleman’s Club, Emotion, Touch Of Class,
What is a good bar..?
Its difficult to say, this depends on your age, your preference in women and taste in music, whether you want a quite bar with pool table and being able to talk to the girls instead of shouting or somewhere you can enjoy a drink and watching the girls. This is Angeles City there is likely to be somewhere that matches your tastes
Clubs / Discos
There are a number of clubs up here The Pick Up Disco & Sky Traks and other more up market establishments like R&B, which has live acts. I don’t know if these are really good places to pick up girls although the disco do have a few freelancers in here, I would suggest that if you meet a girl in a regular bar that you take her to one of these places on her night off.
Viagra and Cialis
I will put my hands up and say that I am not an expert on these drugs, however, I would suggest that if you are purchasing these items that you go to a proper pharmacist and don’t use one of these street vendors trying to flog you them from anywhere between 500 pesos and 1,500 a box. (see photo)
Pool Tables
There are around 20 odd bars with Pool Tables, larger ones like Margarita Station and Kokomos have several tables, so you will always find somewhere to play when you are fed up with drinking and looking at the sexy girls dancing, you can have a ball or two. You can bring your pool cues or purchase them locally.
Laundry
For all your laundry needs l suggest you go to Mamacitas which is close by the Orchid Inn, but as you will have plenty of time on your hands so make a point of taking your laundry there and a kilo starts off at only 30 Peso, yes that is only 30 Pesos. There are many places that provide this service but its easy to arrange. Mamacita’s is a much quicker service because if you take it early in the mornings usually you can get it back by early afternoon, especially if you ask nicely.

Crime
Unfortunately crime seems to be on the rise here, I have heard a number of stories from people and mainly it seems tricycle drivers are the main culprit. One girl told me that when the girls go home in the early hours the tricycle drivers are setting up the passenger, diverting somewhere and have someone snatch their bags for their money or cell phones because they believe the girls are carrying 500- 1000 Pesos tips every night working in the bars. Once they realise that in fact many girls are only carrying 50- 100 Pesos in their bags at most, they will no doubt move on to the tourists. A couple of shops have been robbed in the early hours and many are no longer remaining open after midnight. There are malicious people hanging around the streets after dark hoping to snatch a cell phone or money – so be vigilant. One reason there is now a more visible police presents along Fields Aves, with a Tourist Police office down by the main strip and I kept seeing the police, K9 Unit and walking up and down with their dogs on a daily basis and SWAT several times.
Scams
If you are like me and like walking you will no doubt be stopped by people claiming to be the driver from your hotel and offering to do you a big favour – buyer beware is all l say. Don’t go anywhere with them and do not give any personal details and don’t lend them any money.
Beggars
Anyone walking about in Angeles City is likely to be faced with beggars at some time during your stay; some are polite others can be aggressive or rude. I tend to keep a pocketful of 1 Peso coins which I give to the polite ones, this way the next time you pass they don’t bother you too much. But even if you changed a 100 Pesos into coins in a week you would not got rid of them all.
ICE
A while back I stated that it was safe to have ice in your drinks, I know there are still some travel books written in the 1960’s that states the only safe thing to drink overseas is Coca Cola. Well, things have moved on since that time and the water purification industry is a multi-million dollar industry. I have just spent two weeks in Makati and Angeles City, taking my drinks with ice with no ill-effect whatsoever. As a majority of the bars in AC are owned by expatriates I mentioned this to one and his answer was blunt and simply. We’re not in the business of making our clients ill we want them to keep coming back spending their money.” So there you are, its safe to enjoy your Martinis shaken and not stirred and on the rocks and you can live to Die Another Day. This only applies to the bars some of the street vendor’s ice looks somewhat dodgy and I saw many with the ice left on the street.
24 Hours
Angeles City is the type of place where you can find just about everything 24 hours a day, food, women and some stores 7-11 etc but those of you planning to come down here in the early hours you around 1- 3am, there is still plenty of action available. The DollHouse is open 24 hours and I even went in there at 8am to have some breakfast OJ, inside were two other customers, one of them fast asleep. Blow row of Santos Street is open 24 hours.
Sex Toys
There are a couple a places that sell sex toys, the first is the perfume place, Ask Cosmetics between Sub Delicious and Road House has a selection of vibrators and lubrication jelly in there and the other place is:
Nice & Nawty
1035 Fields Ave
(45) 625-6091
Opposite Rick’s café open from 12 – 12 every day, they also have DVDs and VCDs porn movies in there and various thongs although l saw no edible panties in there. Both places sell condoms international brands such as Durex and Trojan, but its always good to bring your own.
Juniour
Junior,
A excellent brief, concise summation of Angeles City for all. Are you sure that you aren't the mayor of Angeles or merely hold all the mortage deeds to the town? (LOL)
All joking aside, very, very exccellent work and probably a hell of a lot of fun research on your part!

Juniour's comments on AC are very good.
If I can add my "two-cents", I was in AC last week and a notice was posted on the hotel's front door warning residents that bag snatchers have been roaming around late at night, snatching girl's bags. These scum bags are probably watching hotels and snatching the bags of girls they reckon have just scored. A bit of a food chain.
The other part of the notice also warned residents to only take trikes that have a registered trike number. These are clearly displayed on the trike side-car. It seems some scum bags are going around pretending they are registered trikes and robbing customers.
As with all other places in the Phils., always be street smart and watch your wing mirror at all times!
Pretty good report to initiate the beginner in Angeles. Would add that there is really nothing for most of us in PUD anymore as it seems to have attracted baklas lately besides a heavily filipino crowd as compared to the filipina crowds from years back. SkyTrax have always stayed away from due to the potential of trouble amongst a lot of young filipino males. Filipinas used to bring me into the Music Box back in the mid-90's but gave that up when even their company couldn't always keep me safe from those less than subtle shoulder slams as one passes another.
I would tell a beginner that he shouldn't concern himself with dinner for two or breakfast for two unless he is an incurable romantic. Of course there are always incurable romantics in Angeles. Better would be to find a girl by 10pm and then pay her barfine and tell her you will come back to pick her up around 1:00am so you can keep partying. Take her to one bar for a drink if you want and then back to the hotel. Too many girls and not enough days in a vacation to get hooked on one girl especially on the next night when you find your next true love and on and on.

A word of warning to all.
Just because someone advertises their transport services on this site does not mean they are safe or honest. In the Philippines, it is best for new vistors to be street wise and hire from accredited companies only (such as those at the airport or registered with a hotel). Filipinos themselves are frequently 'help up' with guns or knives in jeepneys and buses, so be wary of special transportation offers. Most Filipinos are great, but there are those rotten apples around.

I am looking to make a wise investment in the PI, just wondering if any of you have or would invest in the PI. I am not quite sure what area I would invest in (clubs, cell phones, security) but it seems like they are trying very hard to attract more tourist into AC and from what I have seen it may be a good investment move.
What do all of you with wisdom of the PI think?

For 9 Pesos, drop off at EDSA at the first overhead pedestrian bridge AFTER the Taft MRT Station. The journey could take 15 to 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. From the roadside, wait for either Victory Liner or Five Star Buses (about 130 Pesos) that heads for Dagupan or Bagio. Alternatively, either retrace your steps and walk 5 minutes to the Five Star terminal at Aurora Avenue or cross the overhead bridge and turn right to the Victory Liner terminal (it might be longer but you get to wait in relative comfort in the bus (frequency about 30 minutes) From here at the southern end of EDSA, the journey to Balintawak in the north of the city takes 40 minutes to 1 1/2 hours depending on traffic. Another hour or so will will take you to the Malabacat (Dau) terminal. Alight there and either board a trike for the 5 minutes ride to Balibago for 50 Pesos or walk 5 minutes to MacArthur Highway for a jeepney to the Checkpoint for 7.5 Pesos.>>

I just got back home from Clark's DMIA a couple of hours ago after nine days in AC and Manila.
I had asked a few of the counter staff and they seemed to be unsure of the actual number of international routes in and out of Clark. However, I did notice a banner proclaiming a CR Airways serving Hong Kong 3 times a week; on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Another new destination coming up is Macau. TigerAir which already flies to and from Singapore daily will be doing run on the former Portugese colony daily too from October 30.

A good friend of mine, who lives in Hong Kong, just flew direct to Clark Field from Hong Kong with CR airways. He came with his girlfriend as he was visiting some children from a previous relationship. I know, I know, why bring the girlfriend. To the point. He paid HK$1,800.00 each for him and his girlfriend for a total of HK$3,600 and this included 3 night hotel stay at the Holiday Inn. Two people one room.
Approximately $465.00 US Dollars.
Price increases seems to be the order of the day now.
The ride from Main Gate to the Terminal is no longer 7 but 9.5 pesos.

Has anybody that married a Filipina and brought her to the states found a decent price on airfare? So far the lowest price I've been quoted was around $650 plus tax.

Hi guys,
I am thinking about a trip to the Filipinas in somewere in March/April next year for 3 weeks. After reading some good reports and wanting to change the destination i thought this country could be fun to go to. I mean after 4-5 years of mongering in South-America/carribic i think it's only fair to give Asia a try.
as I am a first timer to Filipinas...and in fact to any Asian country i would like to ask some questions.
The plan is to land in manila...and then go to Angeles...after that maybe Cebu and/or Albay region. (because i have some contacts there)
1)Availebility of ATM machines?? I mean i know there are many in the capital...but what about smaller places...or further away islands??
2) I read about 'money-changers"who can gave a better rate then any banc or ATM. How safe is this?? Were to find them.... Are their false bancnotes in the filipinas?
3) I allready met many stunning young Filipinas online (mainly in Angeles) and some of them were quite frank about their business. Would you guys NOT recommend Angeles as a place also for looking for a wife...or is Cebu..manila...or any other Island better suited??
I was allready surprised by their very good sense of humor and their very good english skills!! (try to find that in any latin country....NOT!)
4)I allready read about the fact Filipians is not realy very easy to start a business or own property....so if any of you have experience with this please PM me or email me. because wihtin 1-2 years i would like to try this in a nice and warm tropical country.....
my private email: johandevri donotaddthis AT gmail.com
5)How would the experts rate Filipinas regarding prices etc.. with other asian countries like fe Thailand or Indonesia?
cheaper?? more expensdive?? same level???
6) what about terrorist attacks...and/or rebels that i know off are at present in Filipinas...are they a serious threat for the monger or not?
I would like to thank you IA for your answers.
Johan
Just a few thoughts as Ive monger in a variety of places. Philippines is cheaper than Thailand IMHO, I would recommend you avoid Manila, it sucks, like bangkok only more traffic
Also Angles may be a bit of a disappointment it is not quite Nanplaza but better than Pattaya.
I recommend cebu for variety, it is possible to pick up a Tuition girl, a secretary a girl working in a dept store, a hooker or meet a freelancer dancing in a bar who will rock your world.
Then go enjoy yourslef with her in Bohol or Boracay with their crystal beaches, super cheap.
Avoid Western Mindanao and anywhere near Zamboanga and you will not get a visit from your local MILF chieftan who thinks all white guys are CIA plants and may shoot you as a precaution.
Also avoid any NPA held area, if you have been in SA that is the Filipino equivilant of the FARC, not quite as bad but avoid certain interior areas in Samar, Leyte, NOrthern Luzon and of course Central and eastern Mindano (surigao) plenty of mongering in those places with rarities in Surigao city Bislig, Cagayan De Oro Butuan and good old Davao. It is possible to partake of brown skinned lovelies who have never seen a white man up close and are eager for action. (I wonder how big his dick is? will he eat my pussy? etc etc)
Read some of the threads in Cebu, Dumagette and "other areas" ....enjoy.
Also the best money changers are Chinese that you find in small strip malls
best price if you have large bills. AVoid banks and the rip off SM Dept store.
Spamhog
Hi guys,Spam Hog
thanks for your info given to this newbie on the filipinas.
I read that my nationality (Dutch) doesn't need a visa for a stay under 21 days in the filipinas. I only need to fill in some paper at the airport in manila.
Thing is i want to stay about 27 days. Is there a possibility to get my turist visa lengthened in the Filipinas???
If not I have to go PERSONALY to the Filipino embassy here in my country...fill in some papers...and pay up € 39,-....:-( I don't mind the money, BUT the thing is the embassy is 3 hours drive from me! besides that I would have to take a free day to arrange this!
Any of you experts got any info on this??? How do you guys arrange this if you stay longer then 21 days???
TIA
Johan
Johan007,
You can get an extension for +38 days at Immigration, cost is P 1520 regular and P 2020 express lane. You just need to fill up a simple form, no need for photos etc. If you choose express lane you will get your passport stamped with the visa the same time, if you choose regular you need to come back to get your visa stamp. To qualify for regular you need apply pretty early in your stay, if memory serves w/in the first week or so.
Johan007,
You can get an extension for +38 days at Immigration, cost is P 1520 regular and P 2020 express lane. You just need to fill up a simple form, no need for photos etc. If you choose express lane you will get your passport stamped with the visa the same time, if you choose regular you need to come back to get your visa stamp. To qualify for regular you need apply pretty early in your stay, if memory serves w/in the first week or so.
Thanks Pute Nut!!
So this immigration office is Only in manila?? or it has branches in all larger towns? Is it a special dept. from the police or an independant department?
I am planning a stay in Angeles, Legazpi area and probably Cebu city and surroundings. Maybe if there is still time (and money left...lol) i also try out Davao.
As I am not very found of large smoggy, traffic jammed cities i will try to get out Manila as soon as I can...;-)
thanks!!

Johan,
Yes, Immigration is independent from national police (PNP).
There is a very nice Immigration field office in Angeles...on 7th street on MacArthur Hwy going in direction Dau / Mabalacat. I would recommend that you use that one.

There are Immigration field offices throughout the Philippines and they're located in most of the major cities. For the most part, there's little or no hassle in getting the extensions and you can usually pay an "extra" fee to one of the gofers at the gate to expedite the whole thing.
:D
GE
In Cebu, the concierge at the Marriott will handle an extension (through a travel agent) for guests or you can go to Ayala and have it done directly by the travel agent (3rd flr, if I remember correctly). They take your passport and send someone to Immigration, so no waiting in line.
In Davao, I think the field office is near Victoria Plaza, but I had to go in person. You need to wear slacks, shoes, socks and a collar shirt or they won't admit you.

a naive guide to punting in makati city, version 0.5
this is a repost of an article i wrote october 2004, and it has not been updated since then (since i have not been to makati). it may well be out of date. the reason for posting here is by request of a fellow makati poster, who thought it belonged in the new faq thread.
disclaimers: i am a newbie in makati, having visited twice for 7 days total. this posting is my notes from my own experiences and from reading the board (some quoted), and is intended to be a quick start for you. the postings on this board are the definitive source of information, use forum search to read more reports.
many report lower prices than i paid; ymmv. i don't have a lot of time to shop, i shop early, and i don't care if i get rock-bottom (price, i mean ;-)), i mainly care about a satisfying experience. pm corrections or comments to me and i may update this posting.
thanks to all that who posted useful reports and sent pms to me.
suggestions:
if the girl looks young ask to see an id to avoid an **** legal problem. (i don't know the minimum legal age.)
if you plan to take her back to your hotel, put your valuables (laptop, passport, tickets, money, keys) in safe or out of sight before you go out. tip: short filipinas can’t see into high places, high closet shelves are good if the safe is too small for laptop.
close minibars (expensive), consider buying alternatives in case she’s peckish.
be safe: use a condom (duh?), examine and smell before daty/dfk.
you can’t cross at the intersection of ayala ave and makati ave (fences). use crossover bridges and ped crossings with buttons for walk light, or go when locals go.
online map: http://www.onthemap.com.ph
quick orientation: see attached map of makati mall area. get a better map free at your hotel.
atms can be found in glorietta mall (and probably greenbelt mall). tip: it costs me $5 to my bank for international atm, so i get more than i think i need to save fees, and use excess to pay hotel bill, balance on credit card, to avoid converting back.
quick conversion (u$a, oct 2004): double the peso price, subtract 10%, divide by 100, so pp2000 is about us$36. pp1 is about us$0.18 (http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic for current rates).
if you’re going to be there more than a few days, it’s worth getting a local sim for your mobile, about pp199 for the sim and pp500 for reloads. sms is a cheap way to communicate with girls once you have their number, they prefer it. “smart” and “globe” are two sim providers; “smart” is said to be easier to find. prices/info for smart here: http://www.smart.com.ph/smart/catalog/sim+pack/
“pok pok girls” – local term for prostitutes
conventions used in this report
“untried” means by me.
floor numbers are usa style (ground floor = first floor, second floor is one flight up).
prices listed are philippine pesos.
arrival and departure: philippines
you may require a visa to enter philippines. i was told that i needed one as an american doing business, but also that business less than 21 days does not require one, so check for yourself. taxi from airport to hotels around glorietta mall and greenbelt mall takes about 20-30 minutes in my experience. i called my hotel in advance and had them send a driver to meet me. otherwise be sure they use the meter, not flat rate, unless you know prices.
reserve pp550 or us$10 for the terminal (departure) fee.
major hotels: glorietta/greenbelt malls
the hotels that businessmen may find themselves at are shangri-la or peninsula hotels (both near glorietta mall), or new world renaissance (greenbelt mall); all are high international quality. i liked shangri-la much more than peninsula, location especially. my experience with the first two was that they were both girl-friendly (have not stayed at nwr). there are many affordable alternative hotels but i have not used them; look for reports in this forum.
the hotels themselves offer a massage service for a price that seems small if you’re used to usa prices for therapeutic massage. unlike therapeutic masseuses in usa, extra services are almost certainly available. they may offer subtle hints (such as “advertantly” brushing your genitals with their fingers during the massage) or less subtle, such as offering you a happy ending. while this is not a cheap way of having fun, the massage is usually very good, and you can’t beat the convenience if you’re looking for extra services – when they leave, you can cruise off into a nice sleep.
you’ll find many nearby options to shop for ladies. the hotel may have a club or lobby with girls hanging around (e.g. second floor club @ shangri-la). the girls around the glorietta and greenbelt malls, in the outdoor cafes and in our around the clubs, are a convenient option. the ladies on some street corners (e.g. near peninsula hotel) look older and worn out, but unlike the mall girls they are very straightforward in what they offer and the price. there is also the expensive p. burgos bar street, and the middle-range edsa complex, and many other options in other parts of manila; take a taxi, not long except during rush hour.
glorietta and greenbelt girls
"the difference between a prostitute and a girlfriend is that the prostitute is less expensive."in the evening, or even during the day, there are often girls around the glorietta and greenbelt malls, at tables in outdoor coffee shops (starbucks and gloria jeans) and clubs (havana café, or the club in shangri-la hotel) who will invite you with a stare and perhaps a smile. sometimes you will find friendly girls in the mall.
i would rate the ones i saw from 3-7. they range from professional service providers to girls looking for a boyfriend; in my four experiences they were professionals behaving as girls looking for a boyfriend. they come on with the usual eye contact, but the conversation is indirect in terms of price and services arrangements. the girlfriend may offer better gfe, and may expect bfe (gifts, shopping, loan, money for mother who needs medication etc).
the subject of money may not come up before you take them unless you ask, in which case they will reply with “up to you,” “from your heart,” “talk about that later,” or “let’s not talk about that here,” and avoid discussing it. since they are not presenting themselves as professional you may be led to defer the discussion to avoid insulting a potential girlfriend. after the deed has been done, you may hear some sad story about why they need money, and some of it might even be true. you give them what you want to give, and unless you gave them way too much they will ask for more. in my experience they expect 2000-2500 st to 3000 overnight, when i was shopping around 9pm. st is often a friendly and leisurely 2+ hours if you want it. some forum reports say you can bargain for as little as 1000 to 1500 st, especially later in the evening, but one lady told me 1500 would only get me a bj (pass).
i think they use the strategy of discussing money after the deed because it’s a buyers’ market, and negotiating price up front makes them a commodity – if you don’t like the price, you look for another girl. better for them to hook you first and discuss the price later.
i don’t like this game; i prefer to have things clear up front. one poster suggests that if they don’t negotiate a price with you before the act, you can pay them whatever you want. “up to you” on this point.
there are also some pimps walking around. why bother? what-you-see is generally better than what-you-got, and the pimp gets a fee from you. they are persistent, just tell them to leave you alone and deal with the ladies directly. if the ladies the pimps have were good, wouldn’t they be out showing themselves to get the best price and to get all the money? also, note recent posting saying that going with a pimp can lead to a gambling scam.
coffee shops / clubs around glorietta/greenbelt malls
any starbucks or gloria jeans, sitting at tables outside, alone or with another girl (ask the one you want, or take two, they're small!). watch for eye contact.
shangri-la hotel, club on second floor - on a friday evening i found many girls here looking at me as i entered the bar. read my report from august 2003 to see just how naive steve can be.
hard rock café - untried. in glorietta mall, third floor.
dream bar - reported on forum, but nobody was there when i looked (9pm weekday). maybe it's better later or on weekends. near starbucks in glorietta mall.
café havana or havana café – ground floor, greenbelt 3, near starbucks. a club with live music, and ladies waiting to be picked up in the evening. i found some just outside, took one back to my hotel, she fit the usual gray area between professional and girlfriend discussed above. two reports mention that there are also ladyboys at havana.
a short taxi ride from glorietta / greenbelt
p. burgos street a quick taxi ride from makati cbd. you could walk it, but it’s hot, taxis are cheap, and you should save your energy for your entertainment. there are many clubs on this street, go-go and cabaret-style. i visited jools (bar fine 2000) and the one i liked (about an 8) could have been had for 1500 st plus bar fine, though her opening price was 3000. bar fines in other clubs ran 2000 to 3000 according to my doorman survey.
p. burgos is the top of the line, the kind of places that guys on expense accounts go.
burgos st. is a party haven, but as others have pointed out, the bars are pricey in comparison to edsa, la cafe or angeles. the girls are a bit more sophisticated in general and, maybe, a tad more quality in looks as a whole.there are girls on the street, some of them are young and look very good. the makati forum has strong warnings against picking up street girls; disease or theft are said to be more likely; i have no experience here.
palacio don pedro – untried. near p. burgos, don pedro st @ kayalan ave. ask for viewing room, 2000 (room) + 2000 (girl).
nearby in manila
for the price of a longer taxi ride, you might get better prices, more variety, or a very classy experience (at air force one). during rush hour it can take an hour or more to get from glorietta/greenbelt to places in manila. in later evening and night it takes 15-30 minutes depending on the place. see also the more extensive reports in the manila thread. the sampling here is places i learned about in this forum; there’s a lot more in the manila forum. ermita is a neighborhood of manila.
la café, bar & grill, – untried. 1429 m.h.del pilar, ermita, manila; corner of salas street. search tip: some postings spell it “l.a. cafe” and most use shortened form “la cafe” (without bar & grill). to say that opinions vary, or that la café is controversial, would put it mildly. many forum reports think highly of this place for price and quality; others say quality is not as good as others, one feels unsafe by appearance of the neighborhood, another assures us it is ok. in the quotes below, remember opinions vary; i’m trying to present a balanced range of opinion here. i suggest you skim a few pages in the manila thread, starting with juniour’s posting on 3-16-04, and make up your own mind.
it’s a myth that all taxi drivers know where is the la café and how to find it, it is best to have clear directions given [in juniour’s] post
…for variety, i haven't found a place that beats la cafe.
the girls stay overnight and 1500 is really appreciated. jurassic park – untried, across the street from la café. search tip: some posters may use “jurrasic park” instead of “jurassic park”, search for both.
the next time you're [at la café], take 15 minutes and check out the jurrasic park bar across the street. i had an excellent time. it's a different scene, but the dancers are cute and available. there's a bar fine, which you can avoid by making a date after the bar closes. there are few customers, some excellent women, and no hassles or pressure. ladies drinks are php350, but the ladies nurse them for a long time. there is no discussion by the way of fees for the ladies. i assume it's up to the client and the girls did not seem uptight about it. guys, check out this place when you get tired of burgos, edsa, and the other expensive joints.
amazonia – untried.
just up the street from la cafe. it's alot nicer, and it's new, so it has not yet had a chance to accumulate the grime and dirt characteristic of la.
…a new club up the road from la and it gets some high quality freelancers. the music is pretty good and the place is very nice inside. watch out for the girl in the short skirt who will dance on your dick for 2 minutes and expect a 500 tip. all in all not a bad place to pick up, and all the waitresses wear hot uniforms and most are available for some after work nooky. i found that most girls are expecting 1500 pesos for an overnight stay at the moment, but there were a couple of girls who were happy to leave while i was still sleeping, without a cent (yes, my wallet was still there when i awoke.)
a block north of la cafe on the same street. it’s not quite as crowded as la and seems to have a better quality selection wise for your filipina companionship. your efforts will run anywhere from the cost of dinner and a hotel to around p3k depending on your negotiating skills and whither she is "in the business" or a coligeia on safari.
air force one – untried. flight 168 health spa, 888 ninoy aquino avenue, paraòaque city tel: 820 7249 / 820 7250 / 820 7244 / 512 9705 e-mail: airforce1_ktv@hotmail.com. open 12pm-3am. located about ½ mile from casino philipino, cabs may not know it. for a really complete report, visit manila forum, article posted by juniour on 3-20-04. high class massage parlor, soapy girl experience, full service.
this is a very upmarket massage parlour and karaoke lounge that is within a stones throw from the international airport and i would suggest after a long flight or before you depart you build in some time to stop here.
edsa complex – untried. along roxas blvd at ne corner of edsa, pasay city. long taxi ride during rush hour, 20 minutes in later evening. for a very complete report, see juniour’s posting in manila thread, 3-16-04.
edsa complex is a cluster of gentlemens bars under one roof, on the north/east corner of edsa and roxas (runs along manila bay). try [it] for a little more "middle of the road" experience [compared to p. burgos] without having to go as low as street walkers. not a bad place for the first timer. [for taxi drivers] it is pronounced "ed sa".
action starts from 7pm until 4am
…you can get one of the girls for about php2,000 inclusive of her time and the bar fine. there are so few foreigners hanging around the complex now, and so many girls, that you should have a wide selection from which to choose. however, i still don't like the aggression of the mama sans at edsa, and the price of the ladies drinks is ridiculous.taxi drivers should know where it is, ask before you get in the cab.
local guide – untried. this is presumably a fee-based option.
if you're new to the country and you are uncomfortable or are too busy to venture out alone, give my guide jay r a call 09174145416 - aside from the usual places we post about on this board jay r has other options depending on your needs.
Guys,
I want to thank everybody for the good and update info given to me (and in fact many postings on this very site! ) about the Filipinas. Yesterday I bought my ticket online. And will be there from 9 th March to 4th April (OOO yes! ) I fly in directly with KLM. Got a cheap rate; -) I land in manila. From there I probably travel to Bicol region on southern Luzon (were I have a honey). And stay there maybe 1-2 weeks. After that I still have to make new plans.
If anyone wants to hook up. Ok with me. I am a first timer to the Filipinas and don not speak Tagalog. English and Spanish are ok. : -)
Just PM me. Or email me at

Just got a quote of $815 (+10% for baby not occupying a seat) on China Airlines for my wife to fly JFK/MNL. Price (season) changes on flights originating on (and after) 5/15/6, but you can return after 5/15 and still get the lower price. It's a relief after seeing the lowest prices online in the $1,200 range these past few months.
I think it's a good price, not a great one.
Just noticed that Asia Travel is showing Cebu City Marriott at $80 or $85/night! Way up from the $56 I paid 3 years ago. And the Pan Pacific (was $80 to $90) is at $120! Guess I'll be looking for new digs if I go.

Hi Johan,
You'll be okay with just english. Especially while you're in manila. Just don't forget to extend your visa as you'll be staying longer than 21 days, which is the standard amount of days you're allowed to stay when you enter the philippines. You could try to ask the immigration official at the airport for those extra days (as its just a few days beyond 21), but it really depends on their mood.
You can already get the long visa while you're in Holland at the filipino embassy in Den Haag, but it's cheaper to get it while your in manila.
I satyed at the new crowne regency princevilla in lapu lapu and got 50% discounted from gen !
Greetings Porty,
Can you disclose the rack rate of the Crowne Regency Princevilla and your price after the discount?
Much appreciated,
Mattrick

I've only been to Bankok twice (for less a bit less than a week), and to Cebu once (for 2 weeks). A few thoughts on my visits.
- Smiling and being friendly goes an awful long way in both countries, and costs you nothing. If you are a foul mouthed redneck, leave your foul mouth at home, you will have a much better time.
- It's usually very easy to spot young Americans because they are nearly always loud. I don't think anyone who is loud is going to get any respect in South East Asia. It helps alot to learn a little about local customs before visiting, this will help to minimise any 'loss of face'.
- When I'm over there, I forget about home (including home sports), I forget about work, and forget about any stress. I know if I'm relaxed, the pussy will follow easily.
- Food is better in Thailand, but it's not bad in the Philippines. I had some really strange breakfasts in Cebu, and enjoyed the difference.
- The Philippines is cheaper in all respects, but what the hell, Thailand is not expensive at all when compared to western countries.
- Never failed to have a GFE in either place, I think showing respect and being courteous ensured that this happened. Spending some time with the girl, chatting and raising a laugh will also help to ensure you get a GFE. If she is not really friendly and good spirited, move on and find another.
- Don't know much about the local guys in Cebu or BKK, but the ladies over there don't seem to get much DATY - they love this, and literally melt. I found Filipina pussy to be the softest, juciest and sweetest meat I've ever had.
- Never, ever, pick up anything off the street in Cebu, this will be a 'ladyboy' no matter how convincing they look.
- Tipping just about everyone at your hotel is a great investment. I never paid a 'joiner' fee anywhere, and never had any hassles or dirty looks either, and always got great service. No need to tip much, just $1 or so every couple of days.
- Dress well and be groomed, all the ladies are, so how can you have a good score if you look like a bag of shit? I always showered at least twice a day, and shaved twice per day. Always used a good deodorant, never, ever smelt of BO or had a prickly face.
Getting laundry done is cheap in the Philippines and Thailand, so there is no excuse to be a wrinkled slob.
- I usually travelled by taxi when hopping short distances, it's cheap and safer than other modes of transportation in both countries.
- Communication is alot easier in the Philippines, because English is spoken by everyone, to at least a small degree. I got the best results by speaking slowly, clearly and quietly. I tried to learn a bit of Thai, but struggled. I did learn a really useful amount of Cebuano, this was surprisingly easy and alot of fun.
- When I'm over there, my primary mission is to monger. To this end, I get up late (about 11:30am) and stay up late and enjoy the nightlife (till about 3:00am). By using this tactic, daytime activities meant nothing.
- It's much easier and less hassle to bring your own rubber from home. Bring lots. Don't drink the tap water, if you get sick, half of your potential mongering time will be wasted while you are spending low quality time with the toilet bowl.
- Take with you, or better still, buy over there a cheap used GSM mobile/cell phone from a pawnshop, then get a local prepaid SIM card. Absolutely essential for getting repeat scores or making new friends. Hell, it's a cheap phone if you lose it, it's only $50.
- I found it useful to find some ordinary bars just to drink and relax, play some pool maybe and just chat away from the bargirls. This was a bit harder in Cebu, but they are available.
Well, thats about my 2 cents worth......Please PM me for any questions or further details.
Excellent report.
I'm going to the Philippines for the first time in two weeks. Looking forward to it.
Thanks for the info.
Ventilation you have got it spot on.
All I can do is add a few more pointers which i have learn't on my last 3 trips to angeles.
Always have a supply of chocolate bars in the fridge, these girls seem to prefer a fistfull of chocalate bars to money!
Tip the girls but do not be tempted to go overboard, usually i tip them maximum of 500 peso, but if they really like you they won't want money from you, just your heart!! Phillipine girls in the bars are looking for love i know it sounds crazy, and i am a hardened monger so it has taken me a while to get over the shock, we are talking of the ultimate girl freind experience if you click with her.
Tell your hotel reception no calls, and not to confirm your stay in the hotel to anyone enquiring, this will stop unwanted visits by bar girls who you don't want to suddenly turn up at your door, especially as you have one of her freinds with you !
I never give out my real name, try and use a nick name it saves any embarassment in the future, and also if they try and make a visit to the hotel they will be told no one registered in that name.

I have been to a couple KTVs before, and they all operate differently from country to country... I subscribe to newsletters for a few on KTVPHIL, but they dont seem to get down to "brass tacks" of what its all about to me... Perhaps for a Japanese Businessman with money to throw away, just to hear a Filipina sing a love song in a private room? I dont think so! Somebody post something to show us how to get one of those honeys I see on the stage in the sack...

Think of KTVs as places where you have pretty girls that will provide you company inside private rooms (VIP rooms) with a TV and Karaoke machines hooked up. You can sing or have them sign. Order food and drinks with your friends. The GROs (Hostesses) who accompany you will light your cigarettes, etc...and you will be charged per hour per lady - this is called Time-In Charge. No sex is included. You can make small talk and set a date (with or without sex) with her, if she is amenable. Money might or might not be involved.
If you want to do the deed in the romm, be prepared to shell out some serious money. First arrange it with your GRM/FM (Mamasan/Papasan/Floor Manager/ Guest Relations Manager) to select a lady who is willing to do the deed. You will have to pay for her Time-In charge for at least 2-3 hours, plus a "Special Room Charge" around P3,000 plus a Tip for the girl which can run from P2,000-P5,000. Note that the Floor Manager is the key to identifying who WILL/WILL-NOT do it on a given night. He/She will talk to the amenable ladies.
Also note that you will be spending P10,000-P15,000 for 3 guys in a KTV for 3-4 hours without sex. This is an expensive way of sampling the finer life.

Absolutely true. I will give just one of many examples in my own history here. I know one girl now at least 4+ years, and we've shared many good times "out for drinks" (I buy if she has no money, she buys if she has more than I do), and more than a few times we've shared somewhat more intimate settings. If she really needs money, she tells me straight out, if she is ok for money she tells me straight out. If she needs 10pesos pass-a-load she asks me and if I can get out to buy that for her she says thanks with one peso (or uses it all to txt with me). Load is especially hard for her to come by when she's "in the province" so she does sometimes ask that of me when she's way out there and wants to communicate.
I remember the first time we got together privately. No money involved. Absolutely none. Though I"m deliberably omitting private relationship details, she told me she wanted to be with me that first night "FOR LOVE", period. Once back at my condo at the time, I poured us some brandy and she found her way onto my lap of her own accord. A little while later I remember her ripping her panties so she could get what she wanted FAST a little while later. We still joke about that now. Later she foraged in my kitchen and cooked breakfast and would have stayed forever if I didn't tell her I was expecting a certain someone home soon. She's told me straight out that if I was available for a lifetime she'd most happy to spend it with me, and that's all she really wants - one good guy (not Pinoy, she's been that route) to spend the rest of her life with. For love, and ovbviously to get by in life with. She's one great girl, mid 30's now, and I hope whoever she finally does wind up with treats her well. If she ever does settle down, I'll miss her.
KTV guide, good idea since we will then know the places to avoid.

I consider a KTV a place to go if you have a gf wannabe that's not up to just going to your room (or whatver room you might get short-time). Yup, you can go there and sing, and maybe flirt a bit, but unless you really are sweet on that one particular girl, save your money and find one that's just a bit more interested in you *NOW*.
If you want to just court some wannabe-gf for "later", and sing, sure, ktv's are fine (though expensive)( for that.
Been there, done that, dumped the girl. I repeat from my earlier postings, I'd MUCH rather be a good #2 than mess about with some virgin. Been there, done that, dumped the girl. Actually, that's not exactly true - I told her to find me after she grows up.

Whats all this stuff about if they like you there is no paying? The facts are you pay something for every piece of ass you have ever had.Plane fare, gas, food, cello load, ect. And where is the free stuff???I have had more than my share of ass in this country but free was never on the list. You might think if you do not pull out any money that the deed is free but that's wrong because like at home the beer or dinner was at cost.
Many of my married friends say no more expensive dinners to get a kiss on the cheek.Well the joke is on them, they pay everyday for something the old lady wants.
Remember nothing in this world is free.

The older and more experienced I get, the more I understand that Bill B is correct in his statement about no such thing as free. When I barfine, the nights fun comes with a receipt. When I take a girl around as a girlfriend for dinner + touring + dancing, the nights fun comes with many smaller receipts that invariably total more than a straight barfine! Funny, that.
I'm starting to prefer the professional relationship. Unless the woman is exceptional, and honestly that initial assessment seems to fade with time.

Bluntly unless you screw and run, there is no such thing as free. The longer one's personal relationshiop the more it will cost. The question then is whether she can and will mitigate that cost more than you need to spend if you add it all up. Maybe, but don't bet on it. Stlll if you choose perfectly it's a better bet than with some North American woman. General rule: woman drain you, you need one that works *with* you for a lifetime, irrespective of origin. Good luck!
Otherwise, "pay later" costs a LOT more than screw-and-run.
Don't forget that "pay-leter" is also a lot harder to terminate.
How exactly does this philosophical debate over filipinas and the prevailing power of pussy belong in the FAQ thread? There is a whole other thread dedicated to this topic! Tolstoy prefer the "for Dummies" format. No philosophy here boys!!! And, whatever you do, don't try to explain the difference between LA cafe and a hole in the wall. Much to complicated stuff....

While obviously in general, anything other than sleeping on the street (and maybe not even that) is NOT free, let's approach this from another angle. I suspect that in this forum the word "free" (libre) is intended to mean "no payment to a girl for services rendered", or in Taglish "for love".
Look at it this way, if you walk to meet her, she buys the beer and dinner and on a good night you sneak her into and out of your place later in time for her to get to her job, you never pay her (over the years), she passes *YOU* load just so she can get your attention, then how much more FREE could you ask for? Needless to say, such a girl isn't your asawa, di ba? They do however exist.

Gentlemen you are absolutely correct in your acessment concerning the cost of poon in the PI (and other parts of the world) some of the Spamhogs favorite sayings and concepts follow:

The problem here is, asking a genuine honest question from people that have ether only heard the answer or seen bits and pieces of the question at hand. You ask 50 guys the same question and get a minimum of 50 answers and could be none are the right one.COMMON SENSE is the KEY here.Use what your mom and dad instilled in you about people places and things and go on your gut feelings. You will get by just fine here or anywhere else I would dare say.
Treat people like you want to be treated and you will go far.It ain't rocket science.Use your fucking head for something other than a hat rack and have a good time.I have heard the most fucked up stories from people living there for a long time.So if you wanna know something you are better off finding out yourself. The cost is worth every penny when you do your own research you can blame no one but yourself if what you do is wrong. The cost of a trike, and some time spent will go far towards an important delima.
Most of this stuff here is from "methods engineers" who couldn't pour [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) out of a rubber boot with the instructions scribbled on the heel.Same same,It's like asking LARRY,CURLEY and MOE. about the molecular structure of any given compound. You might get an answer but will you trust the one given wholeheartedly.
It's a GUIDE use it for just and only that.

first of all i have over 700 posts in the states on the other board, and they ain't all "bs".i am not some jag off that came from nowhere trying to upset the tea party.i see how new guys would feel like asking a question here is like begging fo scraps from a king so to speek.you "spam ass", are not a king and do not have the answers for everyone.sounds like you want to think you have all the answers but that's wrong!!!!!why don't you tell the truth about the place, they can do anything to anyone and thats that.i am sure you walk a straight and narrow path also.
i never said anything of the sort about free i paid my share for everything i did there..and i did not escape reality and escape to a foreign land.vacation maby but not for good.you can dazzle us with your vast knowledge like most do but the truth is the truth and facts are the facts.you might be a big fish there but the pond is small, never forget that.big time charlie.
like i said assholes like you that's why the people there think about us like they do.i was stating the facts about you can get what you like no matter what you look like.i also think you should think for yourself while in this country.and never take anything here as the gospel truth,it's a guide use your own head.
why don't you tell us just how much you spend in graft each month to keep your ass from a sling.or your asawa happy,i am sure you pay like the rest do and like i did on my so called short stay.pay to play that's right only the field is small and the players substandard sounds like hunting on a farm.i am sure that makes you feel good,i can see you are not so different than most who live there.gotta have the edge over the poor and uneducated,a real great guy.and as far as cheep living it ant so cheep to live there unless you wanna live like they do.you don't like what i say turn your fucking head just like you do every day over something.just like you did when you were here.
i will stay here in the u.s. keeping the taxes going so you can escape the real world.i will be over at the end of the month and would like to meet any of you rocket scientists for a cold mango juice.i would love to debate face to face,or is that not a fair way to play.
i tell it like it is and still can.i am sure you do not have much to say about your problems about the pi unless it's behind closed doors.this is a way for you and others to run your suck and vent so i have seen many others do.you are a foreigner in a foreign country and they will let you know that under no uncertain circumstances.

Okay, here's a FAQ. Manila taxi drivers can be a royal pain in the arse. Make them use the meter. One thing you might want to do is get the phone number which is printed on most MLA taxis. You can call in complaints at this number.

BB, I think, prior to your next post, you may want to purchase a beginner's book on English syntax and grammar and, while you're in the bookstore, buy a dictionary. Perhaps the purchase of these two items would make your vituperation a little more readable, if no less offensive.
I hope that during your next trip to the Philippines, you stay far, far from Davao and Mindanao.
The Spam Hog needs no defending from me. In fact, he epitomizes, in many respects, the successful expatriate here. He's a gentleman. He keeps a low profile. He never calls attention to himself, and he makes a significant contribution to the quality of life in Davao. Let me suggest to you however, that he is not a guy that you want to consider insulting in person.

Local currency is Philippine PESO. US$ is currently around 52 - 1.
Your International Credit Card will be accepted mostly on the 5-star hotels, and big chain establishments only. Most transactions are done in CASH, using local currency.
Bring good, unmarked US$ bills (prefereably $50/$100) as banks are very fussy about these, really anally fussy. Bills banks will not change, your local Authorized Money Changer definitely will change, BUT, watch out for scams or robbers in the surroundings.
There is a good Money Changer shop in the Sta Cruz plaza area, in Manila. It is across the Sta Cruz church, in a building that houses a school and some offices, with a McDonalds besides it. I have done business with her for years now.

Agreed X, but remember, this guy is American. I haven't been back there for a while, but as I recall, the native language is English.
I note that BB, in his latest diatribe, refers to Sulu, which is actually quite beautiful and which probably doesn't get more than 100 tourists a year. This would not be a place that 99% of the guys coming here would even think of going as there's virtually nothing there to attract anyone, other than the lovely scenery.
As I've said before however, much of the Mindanao mainland, including Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, and even Bukidnon (which is a province and not a city) offer several attractions, and are far enough off the typical tourist trail to remain somewhat exotic to the foreign traveler. All of these places are safe, reasonably clean, very inexpensive, and have lots of available women. You can fly to Zambo in about 45 minutes from Davao, and it's worth the trip if you're bored with the typical tourist destinations. Cagayan de Oro is a lovely town, and you can actually walk around there, which is unusual in the case of most small cities in this country. If you do not have a car however, it's about a 6 hour ride on an air conditioned bus from Davao and you cannot fly there from here, though you can from Manila.
Do not get put off by the crap you read in the international press about the "dangers" here in Mindanao. It's true there are local conflicts, between clans, and on rare occassions between the Moro National Liberation Front (MILF) and government troops. These are typically isolated and occur nowhere near where you would usually go. It's a bit like being frightened to go to New York because you've heard there's fighting in Chicago.

I wont bother responding to anymore of your nonsense after this. Also I hope you read my post to your in the Cebu section in which I offer you a response to your query for assitance in hotels and mongering. I have had two private messages thanking me and asking for clarrification, neither was from you. The point is I am willing to contribute positively and even to a person who obviously has some sort of grudge, I willing to help anyone and I have thats called character, something you need to work on.
Regarding your query over how much I pay in bribes a year to stay here...none.
How much do I spend to keep my Asawa happy? Quite less than you do int he US to satify your Clara belle (If you have one or if your ever have one) and probably much less than you will spend here mongering in cebu.
As far as your comments concerning Mindanao, the Abu Sayeff et al. You are so far off the mark it would take a post comprable to "war and peace" to set you right.
Any poor bastard reading that would think that he will be shot, kidnapped, beheaded or eaten by cannibals after Landing in Davao. The truth is my "friend" you are safer in Davao than in Manila, ask any first time newbie who has been here and asked myself, GE or a few other guys who post here regularly about that. And there are more immediate threats to ones in the Philippines than the Abu Sayeff. (Do you know about all their associates and "branch offices" in Manila?) How about all the other militant islamic groups there? I hope you dont experience one of their bombing runs. Thats one reason why I stay out of Manila and live like a "warlord."

GE, looks like once again we are in a position of defending Davao, hopefully for the benefit of those who would partake of the Philippines "best kept secret". I appreciate the kind words and calling me a gentleman (Kinda funny though, first time I've been called a gentleman hahahahha).
Okay students, once again without outlining the terror threat and security op plan for the world mongolians:
Davao (and other nearby places in Mindanao to wit, Digos, Tagum) Are probably safer for the foreign visitor than the average American city. I think I am qualified to make that acessment having done 26 years Law enforcement and private security in the US (Wash DC, Baltimore, New Jersey, Richmond Va etc etc.) I also have consultancy tenue in Asia in my profession in East Timor, Singapore and Thailand. I wont get into the Philippines. Suffice it to say that since I've been visiting, mongering, traveling in and Living in this country (primarily big bad Mindanao) for many years, I have YET to be the victim of a violent crime, in fact a crime at all, discounting the taxi drivers who overcharge you or some of the shady characters who think they can involve you in one of their hairbrained scams. Funny thing is, I cant think of any other expats/tourists that I know personally who have been victims of violent crimes in Davao or surrounding area. SaddIy cant say the same for my beloved country that I "Ran" out on though.
Ever single "Davao" and environs incident that I can think of involving violence or serious crime towards a "foreigner" in the past four plus years tenure in Davao was usually initiated by some pilgrim who was involved in something he shouldn't have been like counterfeiting, drugs, trying to scam people or slapping around some bar girl or getting drunk and trying to show the local bouncer how what a big tough American he is. Period.
Regarding the ASG they are most know by amateur sleuths and "terror watchers" because they get the most press. The ASG is confined to a rather isolated area in the Sulu, although many bandits and wanna be's nowadays claim they are ASG. Actually there are more active threats from the MILF and sub factions within that set who spend more time fighting and killing each other than anything else, occassionally some poor bastard gets caught up in their insanity. But all seem to avoid Davao's homicidal leadership who will shut down their money making operations and business and dry up their gun money should any crap occur, more important to them than kidnapping an American.
Then there are private enterprises like "Dat dat Ghun" And Kuritong Baliling, but they mainly target rich Chinese and Filipino's. I wouldn't challenge them to a duel but they dont bother forigners.
Simple rule, stay out of MILF controlled or disputed tribal areas in Cortobato and Maguidanao, also stay away from Marawi in the Illigan peninsula.
I've been in Zambo city a few times, no big deal, however only a fool would go into the Sulu area, it is a no mans land where pirates, smugglers and groups like the ASG cross the border into Sabah and Indonesia with impunity.
Davao? Pull up a chair and relax And the US Embassy knows it, no matter what they might espouse to cover their own ass.
Of course the press is never wrong and if its on the internet, posted by some buffoon who has actually been to the Philippines and knows all about it, it must be gospel.

Check the articles on ABU SAYAFF (ASG) and tell me whats up? Call the American embassy and ask how safe it is there?Ask the brain trust why they don't live there.Beautiful I am sure most places there are very much so.My life is worth much more than some willie Neille trip into that area.
Facts speak louder than misguided information.

Have you even read the travel advisory on the page of the American Embassy? From what I read I’m actually better of in Davao than in Makati. Davao and big parts of Mindanao are safe, just don't wander off in MILF territory. Just like I shouldn't wander off in the Bronx if I ever get to the States.
I have been to Davao a couple of times (last time was in december) and never felt unsafe there. When I read the local news more things happen in manila than in Davao, CDO and Cebu together.
Mmm I'm probably not setting a good example, but I haven't seen the sign that said: don't feed the trolls.
Americans SHOULD avoid Mindanao entirely as it is MUCH too dangerous, just like the State Department website says. I offer an anecdote in suppoprt of this suggestion: Colombia was mongers paradise, thanks to the State department travel advisory and the media fixxation on FARC. Then well intentioned, but shortsighted, guys on sites like the WSG (and I was one of them) began deconstructing the carefully crafted image of an entire nation engulfed in civil war and now both Cartagena and Medellin are swarming with the type of ugly American sex tourist who had previously limited himself to "safe" venues like Costa Rica and the Domionican Republic.
Hopefully you guys won't repeat that same mistake here in Mindanao. PLEASE quit encouraging the Bill Buxtons of the World to leave the safety of Makati and Angeles for the badlands of Muslim Mindanao by deconstructing their image of a Sunni Triangle style civil war on the shores of the Samal Gulf. Commander Robot was NOT killed but is actually laying in wait just outside the Apo View looking for foreign mongers to kidnap and behead (Remember Guillermo Sobrero-the Californian beheaded by Abu Sayyaf!).
I suggest you stay home (and take English composition classes) Bill. You really are the posterboy for the NEED for standardized testing; IF you graduated from high school in the US, that in and of itself is the most brutal indictment of the American educational system that I can imagine. Please add to your 700 post total on the USA Board all you want, but please refrain (it means don't continue doing it) from subjecting the readers of this board to your strained attempts to write in English. My 19 YO sweetie in Davao Oriental, who has never been out of Mindanao, writes SO much better in English than you do (and you have apparently lived in America all your life!). Have you no shame? Aren't you embarassed by the fact that you write at a 3rd grade level?
But let us not nitpick your writing, despite the fact that you are American (so English SHOULD be your native tongue). As Xman noted, substance is more important than form, so let's set aside your tortured attempts at English and discuss the CONTENT of your posts.
Oops, looks like this will go no better for you. Your posts mostly flame others, disparage the PI while talking up how great America is, and parrott the sensational paranoia published by the pantywaists at the State Department. Your two antagonists in this thread, Good Enough and SpamHog, only contribute their personal experiences from their decades living in the PI. I DEFINITELY think objective readers will find the "facts" you cite much more credible than the "opinions" of these "rocket scientists". Finally, and to give credit where credit is due, I WILL say that reading your posts made me laugh a LOT (at your ignorance).
Surfer is right! Stay in Manila where it's safe!
I felt threatened everywhere I turned in Mindanao. First of all, they use cute young ladies as bait. If you were to accept the advances of one of these ladies, you would probably be abducted and submitted to all kinds of atrocities.
Everywhere I went, I heard "hey joe". I think this is some kind of code word. Kind of like "death to Whitey".
By all means, listen to the travel warnings of the US government. After all, they would NEVER lie to you.
And remember, even is safe places like Manila, always wear two condoms.

I should point out that the island of Mindanao, and the Muslim regions in particular, are the biggest recipients of aid from the US Government in the Philippines. And guess who is delivering that aid and responsible for seeing that it gets where it's supposed to go? If you said "Americans" you would be correct. Then, if I asked how many of those Americans, over the past ten years, had been shot at, kidnapped, killed, were the targets of violent crime, and if you responded "none" you would again be correct. Is this the result of simple luck or could it be that the "danger" posed to Americans is exaggerated? You be the judge.
The foreign aid being provided to the "insurgent" areas in Mindanao is not limited to the US. The Australians, the Germans and the Dutch are also here in force. Could be that these governments also know something that BB may not.
Unlike Spam Hog, I lack any background in security, but I have lived in lots of countries, on four continents and a sub continent, and I can say with certainty that I feel safer in Davao than in any of the cities and countries in which I've lived and worked. Spam Hog is absolutley correct in his discussion of Sulu, but there are no attractions, I assure you, in Bangao (the capitol) for any foreigners, and there's no reason to go there. Plus, it's a pain in the ass to get there and once you're there you wish you weren't.
I'm not sure about Marawi. I've been there several times, but only for a few hours to take care of business, and then I've hightailed it to Cagayan de Oro for the overnight. I've never felt threatened in Marawi, but there's no decent place to stay, and again, no tourism-related reason for going. The only way to get there is by car or bus from CDO.

Pals,
Here in the UK and I take a moment to check the Philippine Boards. Holy Fucking Shit!. The Mindanao Island?? What the fuck? The Mindanaos is the southern part of The Phils and Surigao City on the Island of Surigao is the "Gateway to the Mindanao". I have personally visited every major Island and almost every major city on every major Island in the Mindanao. Can also state with feracity that I personallly fucked more than a few lovely, sexy, young women in each City in the Mindanao which I visited.
Now you tell me it is dangerous there. Especially in Davao, a City I have made more then fifty (50) separate Trips to over the last ten (10) years. Stayed anywhere from 3 days to seven (7) weeks on any one of the 50+ Trips to Davao City. MAN WAS I FUCKING LUCKY.
Only trouble I EVER had was with a drunken, piece of shit ex-pat looking to cash in on his meager life insurance by picking a fight with the Dragon Slayer. No Abu Sayyaf cocksuckers or MILF dickheads ever so much as gave me a dirty glance or said a foul word to me. I really have to sit and think how fortunate I have been.
Okay, I will stay away from Davao. No more gorgeous, young, big titted pussy for the Slayer. I am now shaking with tremors to think how I could have been mugged, robbed, beaten, tortured, kidnapped, and killed over the last 10 years in Davao and the last 16 years travelling to the Mindanao (between 1991 & 1995 I made ten (10) separate Trips to Zamboanga City; three trips to CDO and three to Surigao City and one to Iligan City, Ozamiz City, Dapitan, Dipolog, etc); THEN I discovered Davao and the rest is history.
I have to logoff here and contact Rhea, the lovely 22 y/o with the 34c tits; Charity, age 23 with her huge 36d tits, Anne, my 28 y/o with the sexy body; Apple with her huge rack; Cristina, age 26 and 36b-24-36. I must inform them all that some guy said Davao was dangerous based on some US State Department Report or something he saw on reality tv or whatever dreams he had after a long night drinking moonshine whiskey in his trailer park.
I have to listen to this guy because he fucking knows it all based on NEVER having been to the Mindanoa (calls it an island) let along to Davao City. YES SIR! This has to be right. He said it.

You need to think for a moment. When someone pulls up and pisses on your House, expect the guys living inside to come out and defend it. Spamhogs runs his own Martial Arts School in Davao. Ex US Army Ranger he is someone to respect. As for me, I have my own Firm here in the US for 20+ years. Anyone care to compare Net Worth, Assets, Financial Statements let me know.
I all too often get PM's from guys making totally "off the fucking wall" comments on anything from danger in Davao to how can I raise my children in utter poverty in the Philipines. Both need to experience the actual reality of life in the Philippines.
I grew weary with people making uninformed comments on the Philippines and filipinas two years ago. Misinformation is never anygood for anyone.
Pals,
Some guy commented on paying for pussy in SE Asia. I quote a very wealthy, close friend of mine: "If it flys, floats or fucks, rent but never buy". Now I have never owned an airplane but I have been married once and I did own a boat before. I can state that he was very accurate on at least two of the three.

I need an easier way of sending about $100 a month to the PI, I was thinking of various safe ways.
How about this one, see if it makes sense.
Paypal has a debit card feature, the PIN is changeable at your whim online. As long as you're not stupid and link a backup source for the debit card, only the balance of the paypal account can be withdrawn. Especially being able to change the PIN quickly is the best feature. It is also a MasterCard debit but same thing, a charge won't go through if your paypal account doesn't have enough cash.

Also I wanted to ask a question about hotels. I usually stayed at the InterContinental in Makati but I was thinking of switching to the Holiday Inn, in Pasig. Has anybody stayed in the Hotel or the surrounding area? There's a Robinson's Mall on bottom of the hotel according to the website. I'll switch to a cheap hotel later on the trip but for business meetings, I have to stay at decent places.
Thanks
Mook
Mookman there are several VERY cheap hotels in the Vicinityof Robinsons Mall. Most of these are within walking distance of the Mall. Problem is I can't remember the names, at least four of them where the nightly tarrif was about P1200 to P1400 range, they are all close to a maritime school called OSM in Malate/Ermita, two years ago I was doing a gig there and that school was footing the bill for my stay. The hotels were like "park regal or Park royal" something like that, not bad and of course girl friendly. I recall walking to both La Cafe and Casino Filipino as well as Robinsons Mall. A decent hotel I used to stay in fairly close by is the Orchid Garden, they have a web site. A bit more upscale (Say P2500 range) but not exactly eager to allow the "working girls" in.
As far a getting money to the PI that has ALWAYS been a problem. One solution might be to open an account in any equitable (I prefer equitiable as you can do a cash advance for up to $1000 on your master/visa) or metro bank, they are all over the PI and transfer the money online. I bank through Citi and an online out of country transfer costs me $30 up to (I think $2000) beats western union. Transfering money within the PI is much easier, for instance you could deposit the $100 in your GF (or whatever) account for P50 if it is the same branch (Metro bank for instance) from anywhere in the country. All you need is the account number and the city/branch her bank is located in.

Mookman,
I stayed at the Holiday Inn with Robinson Mall attached to the hotel Feb. '06.
Booked thru Asiaroom.com, with web booking discount, damage was $78 per night with breakfast included.
Bellboy and Elevator operator (they no longer have elevator operators) hooked me up with some very nice Filipinas.
Should be no problem bringing a girl for overnight stay.
Fun area. Lots to do for the in-between time.
Good luck and have fun.

Try Cebu, Davao areas lots of nice places and girls and beaches....and girls...and girls. But there are some really nice islands around and there is quite a bit on them in the Board
I will retunr soon and plan to spend most time in Cebu and the next trip after that Davao (well DS has promised me a lady if I swap mine so I will :D)

Most of the serviced apartments are located on Mactan or around the Midtown area. But if you must stay in Lahug, check the 'Tonros Apartelle' on Gorordo because some of the rooms have a kitchenette. There is also the 'Golden Prince Hotel And Suites' near Ayala Mall but I have never stayed there. If you are abroad and want to send money to Phils, check if there is a Philippine bank in the city you live in offshore. If you are in London or New York, PNB will transfer money cheaply and IMMEDIATELY (while you at the counter) directly into your account of the same bank in the Philippines. I am sure same hold for other major Phil. banks.

This is true. What happens is this..
1) you book your flight out on Cebu pacific to leave at 1:30 pm from clark to bangkok.
2) you arrive at 12:00 and the airport is a desert save about 15 farangs, all looking pekid
3) you are told the flight is cancelled and that at 2:00 pm a bus will take you to Manilla.
4) You press for information about why the flight was cancelled and find out they didn't sell enough seats.
5) you are bused to Manilla for a 7:00 pm flight to Bangkok and arrive at your hotel around midnight in Bangkok.
I would say right now, until this situation is cleared up, to just go ahead and take a cab to Manilla and avoid this clusterfuck. at least this way you get to spend more time with your girls instead of on a smelly bus.
ps, the bus drivers are insane! Do not under any circumstance watch what he is doing.

Hahaha – yes, backdoor trojans do rather sound like a condom for anal connoisseurs :D.
I have long since given up buying pirated software in the street/market. When it works (seldom), it is often full of viruses/Trojans. Besides, these days if you have internet access, it is possible to download just about any software you require from a bittorrent site. If you are a member of a reputable site such as Demonoid, the software usually works and is invariably clean.
Not that I am advocating using pirated software. God forbid:eek:.

Just be careful of Cebu Pacific, they seem to be having a problem getting enough passengers on the Clark - Bangkok flights and tend to cancel the flights.they cancel at the last minute? or at least a day before? they don't send a mail to passengers? also if you call cebu one day before you can't get a confirmation of the flight?
Being a regular with Cebu, I'm curious

Unlockiphone22. ComHi there, I am wondering if I am planning a 7-9 day trip in Manila, how much money (Phillipino pesos) should I look to budget for(girls, food, transportation, etc)? Are there bars in Manila like there are in Angeles City or do you guys recommend going to A. C.? If you guys recommend going to A. C. Is there a safe way of getting there? Thanks and have an awesome day. One last question LOL, are there any nice beaches near Manila?
Thanks
Food is cheap. Especially if you don't mind eating at one of those street restaurants. I had a bowl of congi (rice porridge) every morning for 17 pesos. Yum. I ate chop suey at this place every day for about 150 pesos (meal + coffee). If you want to save money, don't eat at any american places, or at the mall. Check the prices before you go in.
For girls, if you want a massage place with a fishbowl and all the trimmings, that's about 2000-3000 pesos for the room. Then, the tip is the room rate. Those are very nice.
If you don't mind streetwalkers, then you can get a nice girl for 500-700 pesos, sometimes more. You would need a place to take her, if you can't use your place, you need 300 more pesos to rent a room for two hours.
I've never been to a bar in Manila to pick up a girl. I was told to go to the EDSA complex, but I never made it there.
Don't know about the beaches.
See my Quezon city report from last year. I love that place.

But other parts of PI are much nicer.
Where is a good place for a beach holiday? I want to laze about and have a pretty girl serve me fruit and sex as the desire takes me, every day.
In fact, I would like to rent a girl from 10am to 6pm every day for a week in one location and then move to a different location and do the whole thing again. She can get another client in the evening if she wants - or not!
Any advice; costs; good places...
Hi,
I have never been to the Philippines and am looking to got for a week.
From the reports I've read, if sound like either Robinsons or Harrison Plaza, one can meet a lot of girls at the mall and take them back to your place.
It also seems like one or both of these places is close to LA Cafe.
Just to confirm, are all three of these in Ermita? Harrisons seems located in Malate, but is the Ronbinsons in Ermita?
I like the idea of working my job (work remotely so need good internet for USA hours) and than rolling out of bed and hooking up at the mall or club. If I can lock down the addresses, had the vague thought of trying to find a private apartment with internet, but may not be worth the effort...
Mostly asking since it is a long trip and Robinsons malls are a chain, so I want to be sure to hit the right one. Sorry if it's a stupid question. I've gone through the forums and just want to be sure. Thanks.

Harrison mall is not quite as nice as Robinsons but yes thre was a nice loking lady walking around the mall. There were several others I noticed there also.
The girl I immediatl spottedy stood out like a sore thumb Just wondering around at a slow pace. My gf and I sat down and after several minutes the woman sits right across from me. She knew I knew.
I also saw several walking around in Robinsonas mall which is more upscale. If you have been around you can immediatly spot the pros. If I hadn't been with my gf no doubt I would hooked up with the girl in Harrisons Plaza.

Thanks. I'm going to look into a private apartment versus a hotel since it may have a better internet connection and one can bring the girl back.
Hi Guys,
I just want to know how will I search for my ancestral information in the Philippines.. I know there are some volunteers but I am willing even to pay for it just for me to get that information.Come here & go to the city halls/barangay halls/churches to get birth/death & marriage papers. then go to the neighbourhoods & ask around amongst older people who may know more.
Don't waste your money staying in your home country & trying to pay some local here to do it, they will just suck your money dry.

JoeBoy - just remember, if you have an apartment, the girl/s always know where you are at/live. Hotels usually offer better security, and will keep unwanted guests/girls out. Also, easier to change hotels (for whatever reason) than it is to move from an apt. Just something to think about.

Not sure if your concerned about price but the Hayatt hotel in right there in Malate within walking distance to Robinsons mall. It has a nice big pol and nice lounge. The girls would be more will to go back there with you than some appartment. Plus they clean your room everyday and u will have room service 24hrs.

This depends where you are heading as if you plan to stay in Manila the Barfine could go up to 3K and hotel 1. 5K.
IF you head out to AC the bar fines are 1k to 1. 5K mostly (with some exception of 3 K at e. G. Atlantis for some girls not all) , Hotel room could run from around 1K.
do you guys recommend going to A. C? If you guys recommend going to A. C. Is there a safe way of getting there?
I would definitely recommend going to AC.
I normally ask the hotel to send me a car around 2500 peso. Once I took the cab from airport also and only paid 2000 peso.
Also there is an option of Fly the Bus have tried it from AC to Manila. It is also OK.

Whats the quality like in Manila Bay Cafe? I was in the phils last summer but didn't venture there or Cafe Havana I want to avoid making that mistake this trip. Also which bars has the most attractive looking women? Not too concerned about price I'm taking my 56 year old buddy with me so I want to show him a great time. I will be staying in Makati so I'm looking for bars in the Metro Manila area.
Thanks fellas

Thanks fellasLA Cafe had only one hottie when I visited in Jan. She was also the best dressed. I did not speak with or negotiated with any of the girls. EDSA has better looking girls and more variety. I went at 11 pm so the best girls at Edsa may have been taken by Asian customers. Edsa fell of from 3 yrs. Ago. I do not like Makati. LA cafe lovers main motivation is scoring a diamond in the rough, bargain, or change of pace. If you can find at least a weak 7 under 30 go for it! Even in AC it is hard to find go go dancers above 7. 5. The girls have good makeup that enhance their appearance and padded bras.

I got a job and I'm making a bit of bank. Aiming to go to the Philippines late this year or early next. Would any of you fellows know how cheap I can find flights? Preferably round trip, as that's one less thing to worry about planning.
Thank you.

Thank you.Good morning, Mr Phelps. Code name 'NoobTraveller' is a recently employed man making bank. He's begun collecting travel information, drawing the attention of the Secretary. NoobTraveller intends to visit the Philippines in late 2016 or early 2017. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to determine NoobTraveller's secret departure city. Upon determination of this location, you are to aid his mission by providing him intel re lowest airfares. Further, you are authorised to eliminate one of his worries, using whatever force you deem necessary, by determining whether or not return flights exist; it is the Secretary's decision that upon successful completion of his mission, NoobTraveller may return home and resume making bank.
As always, should you or any of your IM force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This tape will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Jim.

Congrats on getting a job! Also for making bank. The lowest RT international air fare I have seen on sale with Cebu Pacific is under $75.00.

Can you imagine that? Asking for airfare info and not even specifying the departure city. I was thinking of giving him airfare from the Falkland Islands. I think it's damn funny people are offering airfares based on guesses of his location. Appears the IM force has chosen to accept this impossible mission.
But why is no one telling him about the return flight???

Your FR was odd and confusing plus a Google search plus RTFF would have helped hence the 'extraneous" (not sure what this means in the context it was written).
Sometime newbies need to learn that RTFF and other search engines are faster, less hassle and way les 'extraneous' than asking a question in the same vein that your FR was.
And so many search engines for consolidating airfares.

Some of the folks on this forum are as useless as a cock flavored lollipop and have way too much time on their hands. As for your question, I am no expert since I normally do not fly out of the US but I would suggest reaching out to US travel agents located in areas where there are a large numbers of Filipinos. Daly City south of San Francisco comes to mind. These businesses may get you the best deal going to the PI even if you don't fly out of SFO. Let us know how it goes.

Has anyone got recent real world travel time from Terminal 3 to 4 during mid day traffic?
I've got 2 1/2 hrs to get from Cebu Pacific International (hand carry baggage only) to departure time to Coron at Terminal 4.
Is this fantasy or do-able??

Google brings up everything from no problem to no way.Google is correct: Everything might work out just fine and quickly, or you might face a severe "trappik" problem. Please read my recent post in the Manila thread, #14944, about halfway down the first page (July 20). Traffic getting out of T3 was backed up due to road construction, and getting a taxi was 90 minutes, and it would probably have taken an hour to get to T4 once inside the taxi. However there is also a blue inter-terminal bus (free) that supposedly runs every 30 minutes, and it would probably take a long time to get from T3 to T4.
Other gents, since he has only hand-carry luggage, can he walk it (assuming he's in shape) from T3 to T4?
About 6 months ago I wrote of a similar incident. My int'l flight landed at T1 around 11 am, and my CP inter-island / province flight was scheduled out of T3 around 3:30 pm-ish. I was thru Immigration and with my luggage curbside at T1 by 11:30. 4 hours leeway, no problema, right? There were even a line of taxis waiting, with no customers. I decided to skip the taxi and wait for the inter-terminal free bus. I waited a *long* time and no bus showed up. Finally an hour or so later I jumped in a taxi and we headed off, only to run quickly into heavy traffic. What should be a 5 minute ride turned into much longer, and I started to worry. But, no worries, this is Phils, fella! I was not only on time to T3, but my CP flight was delayed. And delayed. And delayed, finally departing around dusk.

Google brings up everything from no problem to no way.On paper it is possible. You need to check in at least 30 minutes prior to departure time at T4. Maybe do an online check in if you are only carry on.
I know a few friends were to check into T4 and the know it all taxi driver insisted AA flights were out of T3 and took them to T3. It took them 20 minutes to go to T4 from T3. This was around noon time. They ended up missing their flight as they had been stuck in traffic to T3. I think they would have made it if not the stop at T3.
To all: Make exactly sure which terminal you are headed to and insist on it to the driver. Especially if it is Terminal 4. Very few flights out of T4.

I've used the bus before and it worked well but that was at 01:00 in the morning. My master plan is to have no hold baggage to wait for, catch the bus if it is outside the terminal (don't wait) or get a prepaid SUV-esque taxi, if it's not. Online checking should also save a couple of minutes.
Walking for me would be pretty risky. Google Maps shows it as 40 minutes, and I don't know the roads or turnoffs very well. Getting lost and / or run over is a real possibility.
I do not arrive until November so hopefully some of the local construction may be finished by then but that may be overly optimistic!

You can use the date drop-down boxes to see the fares over an entire month. Beware it does not know about all airlines though. I was looking the other day and found good flights for just $614 in September from US West Coast to Manila. I thought $750 last year was good but $614 is great. And on Delta too.
Travel agents are so yesterday [grin] . Actually I've heard there are some good ones for complicated itineraries but for your run-of-the-mill out-and-back flight+hotel the regular search engines are your friend as far as I'm concerned. Always read the small print though, as in pay-in-advance for hotels, or non-changeable flights, or not including meals, baggage, bathroom access, or oxygen on flights.

Hi,
I need to send something rather expensive (value about $750 USD) to a friend in Quezon City from the US. The package is roughly the size of a shoebox, and weighs 2-4 lbs. What is the safest method of shipping to Metro Manila? I don't trust USPS or regular mail.
I am concerned about the package getting lost or stolen during transit or delivery. I definitely want the destination party to sign for receipt of the package, and not simply left on the doorstep. I am thinking that Fedex, DHL, or UPS might be the best choice, but I got sticker shock when pricing this on the Fedex and DHL websites. I don't need fast delivery. Up to six weeks would suffice.
Any recommendations for safe, cost-effective shipping to Metro Manila from the US? No can do on me delivering it in person.

Any recommendations for safe, cost-effective shipping to Metro Manila from the US? No can do on me delivering it in person. Those three are the only good choices I can think of. They do a bang-up job, and delivery is usually a week from the US to the NCR (much longer timeframes to the provinces at times). The initial price quoted by them either in person or online includes $100 US Dollars insurance. If your package is worth more than that to you, they sell more insurance in increments of $100 value. You will need to purchase an extra $700 insurance, and I think its about $10 for each $100 insurance, so you're shelling out an additional $70 for insurance. If they lose / destroy your package, they will just cut you a check for the value that you initially claimed, $750.
The old days of sending something that might take weeks to arrive, for a cheaper rate, are gone. How heavy is the shoebox, and how much was your sticker shock? Several times I had family send me things from there to here in the NCR (ie, documents or medicine). Its always been in the $15 - $80 range. I didn't think any of that exorbitant when I needed it done.
Also check LBC shipping. You can have it shipped to your friend in QC, or have it shipped to a particular LBC location in QC where your friend can pick it up. FedEx in Mania will also hold a package for personal pickup, as opposed to delivery.
One last item. Depending on what you send, the Philippines Customs office might grab it for inspection. If they do, they may have it for 1-2-3 weeks, and the delivery agent will have to collect a small Customs fee COD (100-150 p is not unusual).
Hi,
I need to send something rather expensive (value about $750 USD) to a friend in Quezon City from the US.
You didn't state your location that you would be sending it from which would be helpful.
In general if there is LBC Express near you: Air freight under 5 lbs delivered in 7-10 days is approximately $40 plus any tariff if any.
By ship delivered within 2 months approximately $50.
Hey,
I wanted to know whether prostitution is legal in php. Is it ok to stay with unknown girl in hotel.No. Do not stare at girl, talk to girls and most of all never stay with unknown or known girls.

Hi,

I know a few attractive girls who seem to "holiday" quite frequently in Dubai, either though sponsored or self funded trips. However, I've noticed that none are over there now to make the most of World Cup opportunities. I thought every hooker with a passport would have made her way across but that doesn't seem to be the case. Surely it's a target rich environment either in Qatar or some of the transit counties.
Anyone have any ideas why?

Anyone have any ideas why?If I understand you correctly, you are in the Middle East and based on your observations have concluded there is a hooker shortage? This is intriguing for you because the world cup naturally attracts hookers with passports?

I know that girls who normally go to Dubai etc are still at home in PHP, Thailand, Bali etc. I'm surprised that they haven't followed all the guys travelling to the World Cup.
I'm not aware of any world wide hooker shortage. 😜.

Anyone have any ideas why?Interesting, there should be a greater demand for Filipinas since the mainland Chinese girls are still under covid lockdown. In Qatar you get seven years in prison for having sex with a prostitute so that may put a damper on things. I guess there isn't a lot of spill over to places like Dubai. At least the Dubai forum is reading like nothing has changed there.

I'm not aware of any world wide hooker shortage. 😜.Most of the PH and Thais are not hard core professional hookers. Certainly not chasing the international circuits. Qatar and some Middle East countries have a bad reputation amongst the Filipinos.

I guess Qatar has so many direct flights that guys don't need to transit in Dubai etc so there is no point in the girls going there to wait for them.
Most of the PH and Thais are not hard core professional hookers. Certainly not chasing the international circuits. Qatar and some Middle East countries have a bad reputation amongst the Filipinos.Valid points. Most of the girls I'm talking about don't / no longer consider themselves hookers. They certainly no longer need bars or hourly hookups. Think Sugar Babies or girls with lots of wealthy "friends" who give her lots of "gifts".
Walking around with a 50 yo guy would certainly draw some attention so it's probably safer (given Angie's comment) that they just stay away.
Hi guys,
Hope this is the right thread to post.
Every trip, I've had lots of hassles with Globe sim cards.
(Rather than paying expensive international roaming charges, I generally buy a sim card for a spare phone that I just use in the PH and for whatsapp).
Any advice on alternatives and experiences would be appreciated.

What kind of trouble are you talking about?
I use smart. Smart has an eSim you can buy but it needs to be activated in country you can complete the registration after you activate the sim and use the smart app on the app store to top up your load with a credit card.
Buy the sim here 99 p - https://store1.smart.com.ph/view/2661/.
Buy the promo here - 48 gb for 749 - https://store1.smart.com.ph/addons/.
The Magic Data never expires which is why I go this route however you need to add load periodically to keep the sim active which is the fine print.
In country you can load "All Net 299" which will give you unlimited text and talk which should cover a 30 day trip for 1147 php about $20 USD and mostly likely you won't spend all that data but I like to have that data as insurance.

Phil.Depends on the area. One province Smart may have the best signal, while Globe might be stronger elsewhere. Often the difference in signal strength is substantial. How ever, this shouldn't be a issue in the big centers, MNL, CEB etc. They are the two big players.
I don't make any ISD calls. Everyone I call back home has WhatsApp which only uses data and often hotel WiFi rather than load. The few family that don't have WhatsApp know that I'll be away and don't expect a call for a while. If you're calling landlines for business, there are a few apps that can do this eg Google Voice.
Cheers. G.

Any advice on alternatives and experiences would be appreciated..I get a roaming plan from Australia. It costs me $A20 has a 1 year expiry. 4 GB data. 100 min of calls and 100 international SMS. I found it more convenient than a local SIM and its not my primary provider in Australia.

I might try Smart and see how I go. I do try to use the hotel WIFI whenever possible, but I'm mainly in MNL, CEB for business prior to having a bit of fun elsewhere and rely on the the laptop for that, but the hotel WIFI is generally hit and miss.
When I do revert to the phone as a back-up, it's been pretty shitty with Globe. Thankfully I don't really have to call people back at home while I'm away as I correspond via email for business and make up some bullshit about the time difference. And as for family, I only have my old man left.
I use WhatsApp to keep in touch with all my girls / contacts in the PH. Thanks for the info on landlines for business with Google Voice. I'll look into it for sure.
Much appreciated. Phil.

So I am taking a trip in November with my dad. He's first time out of country. We are going hit Pattaya Thailand for a while, then going over to the Philippines.
I been to Manila, Angeles city and other places in the Phils. But I want to take him to a place that has a beach and women. I have read about Subic Bay, But it seems it might be slow there also.
Is there any other areas like Cebu (I been Looking on Youtube on Cebu). But hoping someone can give me advice for something like that.

Is there any other areas like Cebu (I been Looking on Youtube on Cebu). But hoping someone can give me advice for something like that. That kind of place doesn't exist in the Philippines, unless you stay there and put some effort into finding girls. Subic bay is by the water, but it doesn't look like an exotic beach destination, same goes for Sabang beach. In Coron I found 2 bars filled with local customers, but unless you like short fat chicks with no tits, don't bother. In el nido there is a bar with chicks, that just opened, but I don't know what's going on there, if it's just drinking companions, or take out. I saw some freelancers in Boracay, Panglao, and Moalboal, but that's not guaranteed to be there when you visit. My advice is: do like everybody else does, bring you own from Angeles city, that way you can test drive before long term renting, and they will stick around, you being their meal ticket, and the only return home safely option. Your only extra expense for a guaranteed LT rental is the meals and airfare, because the BF will be there anyway. The thought of making lots of money at once (the accumulated BF) will make the girls extra joyful.

To my requests people have recommended holiday GF or BYO to places like Moalboal, Mactan etc or Siargao, or San Juan La Union. I have the Gold Coast in Australia just 40 minutes down the road so I know I am spoilt. Used to be a frequent visitor to Peurto Galera but now that place is overpriced.
If you find anything half good please share.

Is there any other areas like Cebu (I been Looking on Youtube on Cebu). But hoping someone can give me advice for something like that.Hi CB, as the other guys have mentioned, it's tricky to find that beach location mixed with girls in the Phils. That's if you want a nice beach.
Moalboal doesn't really have a beach and is mainly geared for tourists to get their photos taken with sardines. It's not a bad place but not the perfect mix.
I've recently been to Bantayan Island up north of Cebu and it's fantastic, but unless you have any talent lined up in advance, you probably won't find anything. I've had one trip to Subic quite some years ago, but it's not a typical 'beach holiday' location and fairly disappointing if you want a sand and sex holiday. The sex might be good, but I wouldn't call it a beach.
Boracay in my opinion is nice, but doesn't live up to the hype if you're looking for an amazing island get-away, compared to other options around the world. However, I've had some great results there with freelancers on the beach outside the nightclubs at Station 2 and around Summer Place nightclub. Just get to that area early in the night and do a few 'laps' outside the clubs and soon the girls will know you're on the hunt.
Then you can negotiate, and as there are no girly bars there, you won't have to worry about bar fines etc.
Just make sure they don't have a set of balls, unless that's your go _ Phil.
Hi CB, as the other guys have mentioned, it's tricky to find that beach location mixed with girls in the Phils. That's if you want a nice beach.Everyone is right that the perfect combo is near impossible to find. The solution is to focus on the nice beach and BYO or hit the apps. Pretty much everywhere has girls online now but you never know if you are going to find a stunning fun girl or a waste land.
Beware the tiny pure tourist places. They are too small and out of the way to have any choice. Malapascua, Siargao etc are all nice but no fun available.
Dumaguette has nice beaches nearby as does Alona / Bohol and you should be able to find girls online. But it's not point and shoot, a bit of work and results aren't guaranteed.
Good luck and, as others have said, report back if you do find a solution. Many guys are looking for the same thing.
Enjoy. G.

If you find anything half good please share. Here's a suggestion if you are an intrepid traveler. The Pacific Ocean coast of northeastern Mindanao Island is an undiscovered gem of a tourist area as well as fertile grounds for picking up women. I recommend flying into Butuan City and staying a couple of days in either Tandag City and / or Bislig City and hit the Gaisano malls. If you're friendly and not too ugly, chances are good that some female customers and mall workers will initiate conversation.
Tell them that you're in the area to visit the tourist attractions. For Tandag, it's Cagwait Beach. For Bislig, it's Britania Beach, Tinuy-an Falls, and the Enchanted River. Chances are reasonable that one will be quite willing to show you around the area. If you have game, you'll get lucky with a tour guide.
If that doesn't work, ask a trike driver to take you to the Tandag / Bislig videoke bars with table girls. Most of the bar girls will be willing to miss a day or two of work to be a paid tour companion.
If you want to stay halfway between those cities, the town of Barobo has plenty of videokes near the main bus station.
Two weeks ago (Sunday, June 16) I left my town north of Butuan City to drive to Davao City. I stopped at the Gaisano mall in Bayugan City to stretch my legs and do a little shopping. A salesgirl came over and asked if she could help. We engaged in some conversation, and I said I was either going to drive all the way to Davao City or spend the night in the town of San Francisco (one hour from Bayugan).
She asked if I was going to attend the last day of the big fiesta, located at the provincial capitol grounds between the towns of Prosperidad and San Francisco. Told her I was thinking about it but didn't want to go alone. She indicated she really wanted to go but had no plans to do so. I brazenly said I would be happy to take her to the fiesta and then put her on a bus back to Bayugan, an offer she was very happy to accept.
She texted me after getting off work at 5 pm, and I picked her up on the highway. I checked into the Hotel de San Francisco (P1,200), then we ate dinner and watched the festivities. We left the fairgrounds at around 9 pm and she asked if she could go to my room and use the toilet. One thing led to another (heh heh), and by 10:30 I had dropped her off at the bus station.
25 years old, no kids, blah face but a nice body, and very sweet. I gave her money for the bus fare and a little extra to spend on snacks.
Life is good in the far-flung Philippine "provinces".
This week I'm off for a week's visit to Hong Kong, where I can't wait to mingle with the Philippine domestic helpers spending their Sunday rest day near Central MRT station.
Here's a suggestion if you are an intrepid traveler. The Pacific Ocean coast of northeastern Mindanao Island is an undiscovered gem of a tourist area as well as fertile grounds for picking up womenNoted for future reference. 👍.

Thoughts? As much ch as the PI lovers hate to admit it, Thailand has to be at the top of the list in Asia. Beaches and pussy everywhere and often in the same place.
Many have made the arguement that Bali is at best BYO unless you prefer tourist robbing hookers and Insta hoe princesses.
As Joe mentioned, going beyond the beaten track can deliver benefits.

Thailand has better looking chicks (although I don't really see a barfine or FL price difference) and better beaches. Get thee to the land of LOS!
As Joe mentioned, going beyond the beaten track can deliver benefits. On my first Mindanao trip, near that area described by KEJ, I completely struck out the first few days. Where could they be? Those provincial wide-eyed innocents, ripe for the picking? It was me, poorly misunderstanding the locals customs and shyness issues. Later trips turned the place into a goldmine of gems. However you could strike out for a while, and its possibly not for those in phils for their vacation time (better to stick with NCR / AC / Cebu). Great report Joe.
On my first Mindanao trip, near that area described by KEJ, I completely struck out the first few days. Where could they be?...Same here. My first trip to Davao truly sucked. Nothing but knock backs and time wasters for the first part of the trip. Then the last two days I met a great girl who definitely made up for lost time. Enough to make me want to return several times where I've met even more cuties who more than keep me happy.
I have no clue why the tide turned. Maybe I subconsciously worked out how to play the provincial game. Maybe I lost that new arrival look of desperation. Who knows?? However, once I cracked the code, I now totally prefer out of town vs Manila, AC, Cebu etc.
Strangely enough I've had several guys say the same about Cebu. How guys can't get laid there, I have no idea but several said that they needed a few days to find their feet. Go figure.
Enjoy. G.
Thanks all for the advice. I am definitely looking at the places in Cebu area. It seems like the best choices. I am going to be making a stop in Thailand as well So I will have all my fun there to start.
I am already using like pinalove. To prep someone talent for myself there. So we will see how it works out.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice how to get a couple thousand in 100 peso increments? This trip it seemed like I never had enough change, and anytime I handed someone a 1000 peso bill they never had change to give me. My next trip is not until next year, but I figured I better ask why this is fresh in my memory. Once I ask the money changer and they said they couldn't do that. Should I have tried another money changer?

Easily from a money changer. Make the request in advance if you need to. Ask several different money changers. Also most big grocery stores have the change. Maybe a thousand at a time.

Should I have tried another money changer?Yes. At your bank in your home country, exchange some of your currency for pesos. Usually you can ask for an assortment, and some banks allow you to specify large or small denominations. The downsides: 1) You will lose about 5-15% on the exchange (compared to 1% at a street money changer in Phils); and 2) You might have to make your request a few days in advance at your bank.
Warning. Returning back to your home country with excess pesos in your pocket, and then trying to exchange them back to your currency while at your bank, could cost you as much a 25% on the exchange. US banks are not exactly 'customer friendly'.

Should I have tried another money changer?I have brought money to the Philippines and exchanged it at times, but I prefer the convenience (and time savings) of using an ATM machine. Just check your bank and make sure that you are not charged a foreign transaction fee. You can usually take out 10-20 k at one time, and the charge is (I think) 200 pesos per transaction, so similar to US. With an ATM, you can usually enter an uneven amount, like 19,900, and get some lower denominations that way.
An alternative method, once you are there already, is to send money to yourself or a trusted partner using Xoom, Sendwave, Remitly, etc. , and then claim somewhere like Cebuena Luhillier, MLuhillier, Palawan Pawnshop, etc. Ehrn I go in to claim it, I ask if I can get 2 k in smaller denominations, and I have always been accommodated. Those places tend to deal with smaller transactions anyway, so getting 30 k in 1 k bills and then 2 k in smaller bills is okay.
Then, like Goferring said, if you go to an actual store in the mall or a chain restaurant, they will have change 99% of the time. Always use 1 k in those places, even if you have smaller amounts. That way you keep up your smaller change that you need for transpo, pelengke, carenderia, girls, or whatever you need.

Should I have tried another money changer? My problem is the other way around: I ran out of cash about 3 years ago now, and I'm wiring money to myself from us via wu app, it costs less than ATM fees, and I do 1-2000 $ at a time to lower the wu fees as well (3. 99), and each time I do it I end up with a bunch of 500's and 100's that can barely fit in my pocket. Try it that way.

Then, like Goferring said, if you go to an actual store in the mall or a chain restaurant, they will have change 99% of the time. Always use 1 k in those places, even if you have smaller amounts. That way you keep up your smaller change that you need for transpo, pelengke, carenderia, girls, or whatever you need.I was doing this at the bigger places. I kept telling them change in 100 pesos please. It felt like a fee. Getting things I really didn't need for the change. It always seemed like I was running short on 100 p. I guess I do have a bad habit of giving them out as tips. Coming from the US I always feel I need the tip something. I don't even know if it's a good tip. LOL. Thanks everyone for your input. You have given me new ideas.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice how to get a couple thousand in 100 peso increments?Previous advice should all work.
The best way for me to get stacks of 100's and 50's is to ask my hotel. But of course it depends on your hotel / accommodation.
Another good way for me (since when I barhop, I go to many different bars for 1 beer), is to always pay with a large bill at all the different bars.
At the end of my trip, I usually have way too many small bills. Easy to get rid of them. I usually pay the last girl or the hotel bill with all the small bills.

IMO, 100 pesos is a huge tip, considering that minimum wage per day is around / between 475 - 645 pesos (depending on sector / area). The staff (bartenders / cashier / DJ) at Insomnia only gets 500 pesos per day (plus tips / drinks).
They are very happy with a 50 pesos tip. That's why I get stacks of 50's from my hotel.
But if you want to fondle the girl on stage, you probably should give a 100 pesos tip. LOL!

You guys are turning AC into a US like Hell hole where everyone is coerced into paying people just to do their jobs. Now you have pay 100 P to fondle a girl for 3 seconds on stage? Just buy her a drink and grope her for 15 min instead. Between guys like you and the Koreans its no wonder AC has gone down the tubes.
Yes, I forgot about this, I'm doing the same. Pay at the bar with a 1000, they always have change. And if they don't have change, they'll run down the street to get it for you.
Throw a 1000 p bill / note at anyone in the PH and they'll work out a way to change it. I pay with large bills at every opportunity so I have heaps of small bills as a result.
As for tipping, I'm guilty of overpaying in the past. The issue I've found is if you set the bar too high at the outset, they'll expect the same and more in the future.
I never mean to be mean when it comes to tips and money, but when you're being 'taken for a ride' despite the exchange rate, you know it's time to re-evaluate your decisions.

Hi Guys,
After my most recent visit to the PH and the associated reports I've posted, I've just been hit with private messages from guys requesting me to pass on the details of all my contacts.
Basically, that's not going to happen as I've built relationships with most of these girls over time.
I'm always happy to help out with advice as to how you can afford to bypass the lady drinks and go-go's, but you really have to do the groundwork yourselves.
The huge majority of my contacts were built up over time and they personally know me and keep in touch. Put simply, they probably won't fuck strangers.
Once again, I don't mean to be mean, but you have to get here and work it out for yourself without expecting experienced visitors / locals to line up your girls for you in advance.

Really? You guys are turning AC into a US like Hell hole where everyone is coerced into paying people just to do their jobs.Already too late. US tipping culture has already permeated to much of the world. Many nationalities that don't tip in their own country will tip in Angeles and other places.
In fact, you should tip the waitresses because they are paid below minimum wage, and they rely on their tips to making a living. That's a fact of life. There's a debate whether you should tip the bargirls. The girls that are barfined only couple of times a week should be happy just to be barfined. But the popular girls who can be choosy might expect a tip.
I tip my hotel driver who picks me up from the airport; I tip the hotel staff to take my suitcase to my room; I tip him to take my suitcase to the car; I tip the hotel maid; I tip the hotel clerks; I tip the doorman; I tip the waitresses at the go-go bars; I tip the waitresses at the restaurants; I tip the bargirls.
I just like the feeling I get when I tip a small amount (from the US perspective) to that worker; it makes him/her happy because it is a good chunk of change to that person.
Now you have pay 100 P to fondle a girl for 3 seconds on stage?Isn't that what I wrote. Well, you have to pay something if you want to fondle the girl. If you are cheap, maybe 50 pesos will be enough. Some guys (mostly White Westerners) like to spend 5 K and ring the bell. Some guys (mostly Koreans) like to spend several thousand pesos and make it rain. Some guys like to spend several thousand pesos and buy ladydrinks for the girls, mamasans, and waitresses. I like to spend about one thousand pesos and fondle some girls. That's how I roll. BTW, that's 2 beers from where I come from.
Just buy her a drink and grope her for 15 min instead.Ladydrinks are between 300 - 450 pesos. Girls usually get 100 pesos. I prefer to give my money to the girls, instead of the bar owners. Also, for the same price, I prefer to grope 3 or 4 girls for a short time, rather than 1 girl for 15 minutes.
Between guys like you and the Koreans its no wonder AC has gone down the tubes.I guess some people have to blame someone.
I have found tipping a little 50-100 pesos have really enhanced my experiences here in PH. Unlike in USA where a 20% tip is expected and no difference in quality of service.
Tipping works for me, especially in PH where minimum wage is P500 a day. Tipping in PH has a high ROI, in my experience.
To each their own.
