Big dude, remember a few years ago we saw posts about how easy Sosua was about mongering? It was considered mongering on training wheels? And how Santo Domingo was for experienced mongers who know what they are doing. Remember how old vets sort of mocked the mongers that were still going to Sosua, and that they had moved on?

Well right now, this is the time a monger needs some experience in knowing how to navigate in Sosua and get the most out of it, regardless of the political turmoil or venue closings. All those that have bailed because of closings, chica arrests etc, have basically declared that they are not cut out for adapting to change. They need those training wheels.

Guys from the states need to spend their time talking to wise dudes in the trenches that may offer solid advice / counsel. Lastly, often enough the needs of a 60 something year old is going to be quite different than a 40 ish pushing 50 dude eligible for retirement. Vacationing mongers often have a different outlook than expats who have been living abroad for awhile. What's up Bro, I pm you earlier welcome back but you never respond. It was good seeing you in the Sue! Your intellectual insight is always welcome.
Yes I remember what those old vets were saying. We all knew what was in the Sue but we chose to go and excepted those training wheels. That's why I love the Sue I knew what to expect. I didn't need those training wheels I wanted them! If she can't give it to me I can choose not to come or come when I want to deal with her changes. I'm glad I don't have to navigate like some people that choose to deal with the current conditions. If I was living there I would be doing it too.

I've never been an expat before so getting your perspective is insightful. Who are these guys from the state that you're talking about? Was that a subliminal shot, were you speaking in directly or general? Since we are friends I can only assume that it wasn't directly. Personally I think everybodys entitled to their opinion. Even if we agree to disagree like brother P said.
I've never been 60 something but you hit home with fortyish pushing 50. Once again your wisdom like many of my older friends that are in the trenches is insightful and welcomed. You always bring a wealth of knowledge that I have grown to respect.

I'm glad the current conditions it's just another day in the life for guys like you. It's cool that why'all can adapt and go on with every day living in the Sue. You made your choice and are dealing with it. It's your money and your time. I would be stepping out of line to tell you what need to be doing. I wouldnt think you were a clown or anything other than a man that has knowledge of the conditions and chose to deal with it.

I'm kinda dumb founded. I was talking about several things, what part would you take personally? You and I have never discussed your plans or endeavors. After 5 yrs of me living here I have interviewed hundreds of guys that speak candidly and freely on their intentions when they retire. When you mentioned your concerns about whether it was a good idea to advise guys you know on if Sosua was a viable place to live and start a business, I was giving my perspective based on my interactions with other guys concerned about the same thing.

Mainly, Sosua is hot now. If a guy is coming to Sosua to start a business he is taking a huge risk. Especially if he needs the income in order to make ends meet. My statement was for anybody, and advice for the guys you were saying you would advise. Not directed towards you. The reason I frown on starting a business especially soon after retirement, is because, a guy that just retires doesn't really know what he is going to be doing with himself yet. The same as a guy buying property, and not sure that is where they are going to stay.

There are a few examples out there of people that I talked to. One example is a mother and a daughter that each had restaurants on the beach. Both of them never got off the ground, even though they both felt that they had a good product. Another issue is once in business, a guy could find himself having to deal with police or other officials giving you trouble. Kings restaurant is a good example of that. It took that guy quite awhile to get the clearances he needed to open up. Less than two yrs, closed down. If he depended on his place for income, that would be a major set back. Hope he re opens.

Angelo with the laundry service. 1st came to me years ago talking about he wanted to sell and / or rent used cars. Down the road, he ended up with the laundry service and the apartments. But he is struggling to stay afloat. Has come to several dudes asking for financial help. Thats not where an expat should be. Brian the Jamaican cook has been struggling to maintain for years. Always moving from one place to the next. Expenses kicking his ass.

Will who had the sweet shop across from Seabreeze, wasnt really making any money. Eventually he moved and had a restaurant inside Hotel Seabreeze. But his health had been failing for years. Had to close the business due to lack of customers and poor health. His health may have got worse due to stress trying to run a business and finding out that it was more of a hassle than an enjoyment. When you saw Will, he was married to his business, but not enjoying his day to day life.

Now I'm well aware that some guys have the type of hustle where they can work online, or what they are offering has very little overhead. To me, that is fine. If I was an expert on computers, ID use my skills to make money doing that.

Yes, I was offering my opinion and perspective on how I feel about trying to start a business, in relation to guys that want to do it, but who I feel have not done enough resaearch or are prepared for what they may be getting into. I never advise guys not to pursue their dreams and goals. All I do is tell them to look around, look what is going on here. Look at how foreigners are treated when they have a business. A business is at risk if it's constantly on pins and needles by entities out of your control.

Most businesses run by foreigners are not making a killing, they are doing enough to get by. Like The Tree House. His place can be quite busy and seem like it's flourishing. But the real is, it's a struggle keeping that business going. Sherman once told me, by the end of the week or month his personal take home was very little compared to what he took in. When all of the fellows come to his place, we eat / drink and enjoy, but can leave whenever we want. We can travel anytime we want. When you own a business, and your presence is necessary, that limits your mobility. Everything we see looks good on the surface.

But Sherman has had his headaches too. Business was burglarized several times. Almost shut down from that bikini contest they had at his place. No bro, no way am I directing my POV and opinion towards you. I like you and respect you. And when I see you, you make feel good about living in Sosua. In fact all of the dudes I know, especially all the guys going to Colombia, Brazil and Asia, they all come back to the Sue to visit. Thats how I know Sosua is not dead. I checked my PM, I didn't see any message there. I had one from Brother P only.

PM me a few of these locations please! Thanks! Many quiet good beaches from St. Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla all the way down to Trinidad and Tobago. Many islands. No prostitutes, few tourists, lovely water. Google them. Tripadvisor is your friend.

All those that have bailed because of closings, chica arrests etc, have basically declared that they are not cut out for adapting to change. They need those training wheels.

On the idea of advising friends on if Sosua is a viable place to retire to. I think it is. With a few caveats. If he is an expat like myself, who does not require certain venues to be open in order to cope, is not in vacation mode so he has no need to fulfil a quotaof chicas for his vacation. He can very well live in or close to Sosua. The benefit of already being an expat, is that I'm living through all of the changes I see around me. I have no sense of loss or doom like what is felt back in the matrix. Because in my opinion, that's the reaction that I sense from enough mongers not only from this forum, but others.

Me and my expat friends feel no such concern. Whatever happens, happens. Day to day living is still great. On another note, I believe in keeping things simple. And I've kept it simple the entire time. I will never complicate my life by retiring, and then try to open a business. Flying under the radar is one of the best assets you have in living abroad. It amazes me how many guys want to live in the DR, but not satisfied with just retiring. They have to open a business. By not having a business, do you know how much stress a person eliminated from their life? Another thing, I don't advise mongers to buy property just because they loved their mongering lifestyle. And want to continue it in retirement.

I always advise guys to rent and live in the DR for a while. Once the novelty of living in the DR falls off, the thrill of being close to juice will fall off too. Sosua is a place a dude can love without the p4 p right in your face. Getting chicks and juice is easy, it doesn't have to come just from Sosua. You don't need Sosua just for that. I also advise guys not to invest too much money on a place to live. Live decent but don't spend a fortune on rent. I started off paying only $350 a month rent. And it hasnt changed ever since I took on the place. Look at me now. I have another place on the other side of the world. The rent and expenses are almost the same. But I may not have been able to do it, if I was knee deep paying rent in one place. I gave my self the flexibility to live anywhere else I want. Not just in Sosua. I did what I need to do when I was working, so I can afford to do whatever I want financially without needing to earn income from a job or opening a business.

IMO, that's what a retiring individual should consider. Grow into retirement abroad. Don't put too much into one place until you really know where you want to stay. You might find out you want to live in a totally different country. I recall a ytuber, who paid a nice chunk of cash to buy his condo in Sosua. Outgrew the place in about a year and a half, then end up moving to PP. Paying for a place over there. Thats what happens when being hasty in decision making. Granted he may have sold the 1st place and made a profit, but that was still a huge risk. To cough up that much cash, and eventually realize you rather live elsewhere.

Guys from the states need to spend their time talking to wise dudes in the trenches that may offer solid advice / counsel. Lastly, often enough the needs of a 60 something year old is going to be quite different than a 40 ish pushing 50 dude eligible for retirement. Vacationing mongers often have a different outlook than expats who have been living abroad for awhile.I agree 100%. This should be required reading for all rookies!

Lastly, often enough the needs of a 60 something year old is going to be quite different than a 40 ish pushing 50 dude eligible for retirement. Vacationing mongers often have a different outlook than expats who have been living abroad for awhile.I had to reread my entire post, and I picked this part out as what you may have been referring to?

When I said, the needs of a 60 something yr old would be quite different than a 40 ish pushing 50 dude, I was merely acknowledging that an older dude (expat even) can't assume his needs, interests and motivations would be the same as someone younger consdiering retirement abroad. Meaning, an older dude or expat does not set the bar for everybody. A younger dude, or different dude may have his own interests and motivations. And therefore, the expat older dudes opinion and perspective may be moot or non applicable for someone else. I said this at the end, to buffer the strong biased opinions I was offering earlier in the message. But I wasnt clear or throrough in what I was getting at.

When I talked about vacationing mongers have a different outlook than expats, I was considering that too. Expats can get to a place where they are content. Wheras a vacationing monger may have a different vision or motivation. Each can appreciate where the other is coming from. Even learn from each other. For instance what I learned, is that vacationing mongers tend to dive head on into what Sosua has to offer. Wheras expats can be too reserved at times. They tend to stick to what's familiar. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes it's not.

For vacationing mongers they can potentially appreciate the expats perspective on just enjoying living abroad, living under the radar, and realizing that one may find mongering less of a priority once they live abroad for a while. And definitely won't be posting potentially inflammatory content on Ytube for the world to see.

So I guess I was stating an opinion without explaining it's significance overall.

Oh and the part about guys need to talk to the guys in the trenches. I was referring to not relying on Ytubers who may not have a clue when it comes to advising other guys on pertinent info. One in particular used to post videoa that had all kinds of incorrect information. Even tried to repeat a story about an accident I had, spouting wrong information. There were several examples of him posting other videos on inaccurate information. And had a bunch of followers from the states enamored with his videos.

So again, I was vague about what I meant about guys need to talk to guys in the trenches. But that is where I was going with that. One of the most important things I hope guys get. Just because the guy is on you tube, doesnt mean he is honest or can be trusted. The 1st thing i notice is many rarely tell you to talk to the vets and expats if you need to know whats up. Instead many get to the point that they want you to rely on them for information, and also support them financially. What I offer guys that come to Sosua is for free. I enjoy helping guys as much as i can.

The reason I frown on starting a business especially soon after retirement, is because, a guy that just retires doesn't really know what he is going to be doing with himself yet.Besides that, the average person starting these things has probably never run a business before, so he is already behind the 8-ball. And like you said, in 3rd world countries you have to deal with tons of bureaucracy and the police. Everyone will have their hands out for a piece of your pie.

All one has to do is look around. If you don't see anyone else thriving from it, then it is probably not a good idea. Surely people came before you with the same dollar signs in their eyes. What happened to them?

There is an expat saying in Thailand that holds true here as well: If you want to make a small fortune in Thailand, then start with a large one. (I see restaurants and bars come and I see them go.) These places we travel to are meant to be used by us rich foreigners to relax and take it easy, not to add undue stress to our lives.

I like your posts Grownman very insightful. The X man's posts have improved dramatically. The extended vacation must have helped.

The part about different views of expats verses tourists is especially on point. I've been writing from the prospective of a expat while catching flack on the DR forum from tourists. And all the while never having a single factual piece of information that I posted about Santo Domingo este successfully changed by anyone. None of us vets posting have anything to gain from it. In fact we are using our valuable time to contribute. So, I'm afraid that entire part about listening to vets is really going to fall on deaf eyes. But it remains good advice.

I would add that not only age, but geography within the same country matters also. I give information and advice on este where I live. Everywhere else that I have just visited is my opinion.

I just spent the last two and a half months in Sosua and have not been on this forum hardly at all so I don't know what has been reported here as I am too lazy to go back and read a million pages of mostly BS. What I can tell you is big changes are coming to Sosua, the orders of "cleansing" is coming from Santo Domingo, the mayor is just a pawn in all of this. If you don't think that big change along with big money is coming just go down to playa Sosua and look at the hundreds of feet of new fencing being constructed along the full length of the beach. The Dominican family that owns the land between the beach shacks and the highway has sold to foreign investors and they intend on building condos and a hotel etc. On that land, the beach shacks are there illegally and will be bulldozed into oblivion just like they have done to others in Encuentro and Long Beach. As many of you know Marriott has licensed three new high end luxury hotels on the north shore, the old Ganservort is currently under renovation, another is in Cabarete, I can't remember the exact location and a Ritz Carlton is to be built at La Boca. It is rumored that Hilton is soon to announce something in Sosua but I'm not holding my breath. The closing of the bars in Sosua may be permanent this time in my opinion, Kings / Rumbas is relocating down the street after going to court and being told that there was no way he could reopen at the current location, they should be open soon at the old Mora Mai location. There are many moving parts to all of this. Willie is building a huge entertainment complex in Puerto Plata, not Sosua, that should tell you something also. I went to the new disco in Ahnvee for about ten minutes last week,200 girls in there easily so if that's your thing then have at it. I have to put a plug in for my good friend Matteo and his new bar / restaurant at the old Brittania location, he did a great job and we've had a lot of fun hanging out watching football and just watching the goings on in the street, I can't wait to get back in January, Sosua lives it just lives differently and will live much differently in the future, I'm okay with most of it because I am not a weekend warrior and have a phone full of Puerto Plata Facebook "friends" who are more than willing to jump in a carrito and visit me.

But I agree the sky isn't falling. Veterans warned me years ago this wouldn't last. Those that have contacts, speak some Spanish and can move around will continue to enjoy the island. And his old location (Midtown Sosua Restaurant and Bar) is available for purchase at $40,000 USD.

I also saw in the Sosua forum on TripAdvisor that Scandinavian Beach Bar was renamed The Rehab Bar and is apparently doing well. I was sure that place was going to close permanently after Tom died.

My typical Friday.

PP Regular comes bearing gifts, home made soup and stuff!

A couple hours on the beach #33, and a couple cold ones! Home for shower and change, then over to the bar for a beer and to pick up a couple of our barrista friends coming off shift. They are dressed to the nines and ready to go!

In view of the changes I suggested we all head up to Ahmee to see what's cooking! ID's all checked at the gate, and a series of very attentive and cheerful chicos ushered us around to a nice table!

The place is huge! Could fit 4 Rumbas into it around a beautiful pool setting. It was early when we got there, around 7, but the place was full of chicas in full dress gear! Some I knew who joined us for a beer. A couple hours checking out the scene, and renewing acquaintances. My girls were hungry, and we weren't too impressed with it as an eating place, more like a giant, but spacious. Club/disco. Air conditioned and not claustrophobic like the old Classico. Lots of room to walk around, and some fine chicas were doing just that.

The ID and dress code kept out the hardcore hookers, so no 500 peso BJ's in the bathroom, for cheap mongers. LOL.

All in all, very civilized, and if my buddy's wife lets him come down to visit, I know one guy who will find it much to his liking!

So we bid farewell and hopped MC's to downtown where we had a great meal and listened to a band. Mixed wine with the beers I'd had earlier which didn't agree with me much, so cut the girls loose, and me and GF walked back to our beautiful air conditioned love nest with the fresh crisp clean sheets!

Maybe not for everybody, but for us, a great night! (and also got to make a mental note of a couple more future possible contacts LOL).

When Matteo was there he offered it for sale and found a buyer but the owner of the hotel, Matteo's landlord refused to rent the place to any potential buyers because he had a friend that wanted to put a German restaurant in there, the owner of the hotel is German. So in essence that motherfucker screwed Matteo out of $40,000. The Rehab Bar was doing very well but the owner Ken decided to close it in order to focus on his construction business Rehab Home Improvement, he is the one that "rehabbed" the old Brittania into Matteo's Seaside Pub. He did a great job. He also just renovated the old LOS Gringos in Cabarete, it is now called Danny's Pub. Ken is a good friend of mine and does great work.

Gots plenty here where I am in Sao Paulo.I just happen to believe that everybody is looking for strange. The issue, if I understand it correctly as I read the exchanges in the forum, is about how the format, locations and ease for meeting strange in person plays is currently being changed and altered. But the constant in life is change.

Personally I just don't see what the big deal is if the sole objective is a search for strange. If you like to walk around and check out various street vendors, depending upon who you choose to listen to, it would seem that Sosua is changing somewhat in that regard. Some like it and some don't. But I haven't read any reports that prostitution has been made illegal in Republica Dominicana. But strange continues to be available if you wish to pay for it.

The changes will make things less convenient for guys who do not like the club scene. Older guys will have to adjust to hitting the streets at night or find the new Rumba location. Weekend warriors will not miss a beat. Enviee is Classicos on steroids. The girls have not left and more may return if the policia is put on a leash. I like a little strange mixed in on my trips. If you are willing to look for it strange is easy to find. Infact they are looking for you.

Vets, expats and snowbirds will always be around.

It is far away from Main Street and closer to entertainment area mayor envisioned. Mayor does not want Main Street crowded with chicas walking and soliciting giving a bad name to Sosua where families of tourists come in droves which has not happened in the history of Sosua. Where Ahnvee is no tourist will come except people looking for girls. However when I was there lots of police and military came daily. It is anybody's guess how much in bribes has to be paid to keep it from being hassled. Right now they are making good money. Jam packed in the evenings and on Sunday pool party in the afternoon. Hopefully they will use the money to renovate all the rooms. The room I was given after the first room offered was not good is very good. Room 404. Convenient to meet and bring in the girls although I had a rental car.

Only other club is at playa chiquita casino. Saturday there was no entry fee for any body. On Sunday they started charging entry fee selectively. Do not know how much. Generally crowd dies down at Ahnvee by 1 am and all go to playa Chiquita.

High caribe is open but not many people. Long time ago I liked it because it was very popular. Very spacious compared to cramped Main Street clubs.

I often heard them complain about rumba not allowing them to come in. They had city lights which became Haitian central and a club that cater to them and their clients. Most of the clubs gave them a hard time and would not allow them entry. Current situations make it so much harder on them to see clients. Ahnvee Don't want to be labeled as a Haitian club so you know they're going to be tight on security. Only a select few are allowed a pass.

Well, then Matteo Pello might want to remove the ad from his Facebook page (picture attached, hopefully). But I believe you, since he's selling the contents of the old restaurant on "Best of Everything Cabarete Sosua," "La Mulata Community," and "Everything Cabarete."I just wrote to him and told him he should take the ad down, thanks.

My source is saying the mayor is already working on closing the club at the minimum. But time will tell. In the meantime enjoy! When I first arrived in Sosua 10 years ago, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven!

But even then, given the state of Global politics and what I'd seen in the Europe, Canada and the USA My little voice told me that this was a temporary backwoods in today's culture, and couldn't last. I figured it would last for the remaining days of my active life, and I would make the most of it!

This is exactly how I described Sosua to my friends back then. Like a booze can in your home town that the cops have turned a blind eye to, for now! But Sosua was always changing even then, from a backwoods of small intimate bars with batchata, merigue and salsa, to giant lit up emporiums and urban rap. It became a victim of it's own notoriety.

I made local connections early though, and kept coming back and gradually fell in love with the town. A change from home, frigid winters, miserable neighbors, traffic gridlock, and NA wives and girlfriends who wanted a hell of a lot more from you than a Sosua hooker, and gave even less back! lol.

In spite of the changes, which actually did not affect my own personal lifestyle here, I decided to live here, among a reliable and helpful network of locals that know how to solve any problem with a little dinero. With just a wave or a call I can get groceries, pharmacy, agua, a phone charger, whatever, and I don't need a car! Within 10 minutes I got 3 beautiful beaches!

It may not be the hooker heaven of old, but as a retirement spot it has great potential.

And those beautiful DR Chicas didn't suddenly become old and ugly! And they are still around, even if they're not walking up Main Street in a parade!

The Mayor made a deal with the local bars and workers to move from downtown. Shutting down the new area doesn't make much sense!

One of my friends who lives there is well connected. His info is usually correct. The powers that be are not happy with all the attention ahnvee is getting. Word is their going to close the bar there at the minimum. That still leaves the casino, which I personally think is their ultimate plan. Then its really out of sight. Be who knows! We shall see! Stay tuned folks!

I always liked the venue at high Carib. The place is very attractive but the solid Dominican girls do not like rubbing shoulders with the Haitian hotties. However the thing that excites me is having a spot for the early afternoon action. Once Rumbas was shut down the girls had nowhere to post up early. There have always been girls who do not like working at night. I am still looking for the silver lining in all the changes.Interesting. About what time are you talking?

A long time friend from day one, she moved into a small space and opened a hair and manicure salon. I dropped by after she moved in and she brought out a cold beer from the back. I told her it would make a good little bar for her old customers.

She was already ahead of me, and on my next visit she was serving beer to her hair and nail customers.

Next visit she had put up a little bar front and a proper beer fridge, instead of buying singles from the colmado across the street. I always brought her coasters and other bar stuff from Canada on my visits. It was always a little haven for chicas chased off the main drag by the cops.

Gradually she has opened it up into a proper little bar, and is doing well evenings and weekends. I still get a haircut or a man/pedicure from one of her regulars.

We call it Rosa's.

For those who were not aware, that new bar / restaurant is named "Matteo's Seaside Pub." And his old location (Midtown Sosua Restaurant and Bar) is available for purchase at $40,000 USD.

I also saw in the Sosua forum on TripAdvisor that Scandinavian Beach Bar was renamed The Rehab Bar and is apparently doing well. I was sure that place was going to close permanently after Tom died.$40,000 usd is dirt cheap for that spot.

A typical Sunday, Sosua downtown quiet. Checked out the new Rumba location down by the Casino, which opened yesterday. Big Joe from Sosua Lights on door. Nice spot, good food, watched Ravens beat SF.

Met a local buddy who took me to Los Charamicos to visit family for Domingo Sociale. Sat out on street, bachata cranked up, drinking cheap Jumbo Presidentes from the colmado and catching up with the latest, and watching the passing parade. Lots of eye candy, no changes ever, in Charamicos.

Invited to go fishing next week with buddy. Didn't catch anything last time we went, no fancy gear just a line on a spool, but a nice cruise around the bay anyway. A recommended diversion for a bored monger.

Problem was when we came back there was a high swell rolling up on the beach and we overturned. Buddy left his boat and motor and made sure I got to shore ok, first.

Locals are like that!

Let me rephrase the question. How easy is it for a foreigner to purchase a commercial property in the DR?That's a loaded question, LOL.

Commercial. Could mean an income property or an existing business.

If you have experience running a similar business in a similar environment, you have a leg up, but you really need to understand the game and the culture and have some reliable local connections, and a trustworthy local lawyer (if you can find one! LOL).

I ran my own business all my life, and I love Sosua, but I've heard enough tales of woe from business owners here, successful and not, that it's the last place I would attempt it!

I wish anybody who does, good luck!

On the bus to SD. Spent the weekend in sosua. Things have changed but the game is the same. The old strip is a memory but annvee is rocking all the Hos one man handle. I watched the football game there. Laid atmosphere with the fellows. The night action revolves around the place. In many ways it is better then the Classicos Merengue setup. No admission charges and the place is packed. Enough eye candy for anyone. I did some of my favs but managed to find 3 new ones. Had zero problems with performance or scammers. Day action is a thing of the pass. During day streets are bare. Bailey s is popping as a place for the girls to post early evenings. Sosua is still awesome fun as long as you focus on what have and not what was. Old still kool and out.

Was in Puerto Plata in late September for about 8 days with a bunch of my buddies. Stayed in Lifestyle (and at last figured out how to get chicas in and out. If you need to know how PM me). We had made some arrangements to get some Colombian chicas from Santo Domingo as one of my buddies was more into lighter skin. While it was fairly expensive (like approaching 700+ a day excluding transport), the quality was really something (these girls were actually models and have decent profiles on instagram with their modelling work). After the first 2 days, we sent them their way. I had also connected to a lot of FB friends 2 months prior and most of them were very available (pricing around $150 toda la noches) . I should say FB is a very fertile ground to hunt for chicas all across DR. Almost all the chicas accepted my connect and out of the 50 I reached out more than 30 were interested in meeting me. I videocalled a few and all of them had friends that they could bring for a party. We did a FB chica night on one of the days and that turned out to be just fine.

A few of my other buddies wanted to have a party type of stuff and we went hunting in Sosua on day 4. It pays to have a good driver that knows where to go for sure and that can run errands. Literally within few minutes we were able to get a chica that was from Santiago (and working) somewhere near Bologna (Italian restaurant) and within the next hour we had 6 chicas in our van (including 2 Venezuelan). We got them to the villa, ordered food and got them on the pool and these chicas know how to have fun. It was great to see all of the naked butts and boobs in the pool having fun and getting wasted. We had a great time that night and we sent them home next day afternoon with USD 150 each (not at all a bad investment) and told them we will get them back a day later (which we did). I should say that this trip was one of the better trips for me and I frankly think if you want to party DR (other than Thailand) is likely the only place where one can pull things off without breaking the bank.

Current plan is to spend a couple of months in the DR this winter, of which one if not both will most likely be in Sosua. I really enjoyed a good body rub from the girls across from the Jolly Roger or one of the other little shops and was wondering if they have also been removed from Pedro Clisante along with the other girls.

Either way would not impact my plans just a little less fun is all. Have all the sports bars moved? I believe it Kings / Rumbas where I usually watched sports and understand it has relocated.

One upside is that appears the price of monthly rentals is down from last year.

Did they ask for that amount or that was the amount you decided to give them? For the Santo Domingo ones -had to negotiate before they started travel. For the local Sosua. Didn't really talk about money (hinted good service good money) and when I gave him 150 each next day afternoon after whole night of debauchery and party -they were super happy. It helps to feed them and get them drinking and they all had a good time as well.

Came in yesterday. Had a great session with one of my WhatsApp contacts. 2500 pesos. Lots of chicas on the beach. Many pretty ones I've never seen before. Collected a few numbers. They agreed to 2500 pesos. Strip is mostly restaurants now. But it's a relaxed vibe. The old rumbas is supposed to reopen. Rumor is hes going to keep both spots open. Rumor is old after one is remodeled and open.

Didn't make it to ahnvee. Peace!

3rd day back. Having a ball! Did one new chica off the beach. A pretty light skinned chica. We had chemistry! Sex was awesome! She took 2500 no problem. Other than her been all chicas I already knew. Been doing the beach, eating on the strip and hitting the smaller bars. Haven't been out past midnight yet. Haven't been to ahnvee or the casino yet. Peace!

Have some spare time the week before superbowl, trying to decide if I should make my way back, it's been almost 2 years since my last visit, been too busy with Cuba.

Reading too many mixed reviews on what's going on out there. But feeling hopeful, because its the week leading up to superbowl.

What's going on in town at night, is there a variety of chicas walking back and forth like usual? Are the Hatians still out there?

What is Anvee, I saw a hotel named Anvee on one of the booking sites.

Anything else new and interesting?

Convince me! LOL.

Convince me! LOL.If you have doubts or concerns about Sosua and you have a better destination to go to, then you should go to those other places. Right now, nobody knows what Super Bowl week may be like this season. However, if SB week is anything like the weeks before Christmas, SB week should bring several hundred chicas to Sosua. Even many that rarely come or never have come before. The key is, they will need places where they can post up. The beach during the day is perfect for making hookups. As for the night life, the 2 discos on the east and west of town already are set up as meeting places. Meeting places are necessary because chicas that look like they are on the hustle are not allowed to walk around town freely with zero hassle.

Right now the most popular meeting place in the evening, is at the Ahnvee Resort Hotel (which is about a 1/4 mile from the closed businesses downtown ). They have a large open area for sitting or standing, a pool, a bar and the Bourbon Street restaurant. As you walk towards the rear of the property there is another bar, another pool, and the Skybox disco. The Skybox disco is upstairs over this bar.

For anyone, they need to keep abreast of the status of Ahnvee because if they are forced to close the property / Skybox to non guests of the resort / hotel, or they invoke some type of counter measure against chicas coming and going there, that could be a game changer for many folks. But if they are still operating as they are now by SB week, they will provide a great meeting place venue for all. And of course the other discos next to the 2 casinos will be extra options. Also keep abreast of what's going on with Dave who operated Sosua Lights and now High Caribbean. In the Red Light district Dave is building an entertainment complex right across from the Cestur jailhouse. If they can complete something before February whatever he's built there should be more options for all as a place to hang out.

Guys coming from wherever will be taking a chance until we know the fate of Sosuas day and nightlife. Some will be happy, some will have regrets. Expats and the daring that visit often will see how everything plays out over time. Don't forget. You can still visit Sosua and utilize social media to find talent. Personally, most of my connects are regulars. I don't need any of the venues. But it's nice to know they are there when you want them.

Let me rephrase the question. How easy is it for a foreigner to purchase a commercial property in the DR?First you must take leave of your senses. Next, tear your money up into confetti and throw it into the wind. Finally wire a relative to keep a lawyer on retainer with a large stack of money for bribes- because if by some miracle you make money. They will come throw you in jail so they can steal it. But to get to your question its not hard to obtain the title and God bless the string of wide eyed optimists who keep doing it.

I was down in early November before they closed things up. I am going back in a week or so. The first few times in Sosua I was a kid in a candy store but now I go mostly to hang with friends and drink. I might hit 3 or 4 and prolly 2 times will be with an old regular- will they still wander into the seabreeze from time to time or am I going to hafta trek all the way down to Ahnvee. I'm old man. I just want to score one in the early afternoon and then proceed about my day. Is there any up and coming internet action in Sosua to find chicas.

Then you can make your own assessment / judgement on what adjustments are needed, if any? Keep in mind, a lot of chicas (including regulars) may still be with their families during the Christmas & New Years season. When you were there in November, you saw them at their hungriest and on the hustle because it was before the holiday season. Don't you worry. Sosua always has a skeleton crew of chicas on duty for dudes anxious to get back to Sosua. The closer you get to Super Bowl week, the more chicas you'll see slowly creeping back. This is where guys young and old and in between need to hold the line.

Having a great trip! Awesome sex from my WhatsApp crew! Had one new chica off the beach who was a sex machine! I mean that in a good way! Every one happy with 2500 pesos. Only did ahnvee twice. His drink prices are almost double every where else, so I stay away. The streets are slow, but as always a skeleton crew. My WhatsApp crew keeps me right.

Rumor is the mayor lost in court. So merengue and classico have to reopen by 1/5 or the city has to pay them lost income. Don't know if it's TRUE. We shall see.

Peace!

From my understanding, are the options Ahnvee, the casino and pipelining if I was looking to fuck? My first time there I stayed at Hotel Europa and walked everywhere and it was a pleasant enough point and fuck experience. Should I look at staying at Ahnvee if I prefer not having to pay for a motoconcho or taxi? I also tried pipelining via Dominican Cupid and tagged but they all wound up ghosting or being catfish. How do you vets pipeline so well?

This latest shake up, or rather "shake down" should settle down after the February election.

It's all about that dinero that is no longer pouring in to Sosua, and who needs it more.

Che Montreal is opening up again on the main corner, and the old Rumba is starting to show signs of life! Doesn't make sense to close up all the prime real estate on the Main Street of Sosua, after they've spent so much money improving it with sidewalks, trees and lights.

Deals will me made!

Got back from Sosua after a week.

1. Got an Uber driver from Santiago downtown to take me to Sosua. The Uber quote, he stated was about 1800 pesos. I paid him 2000 to drop me to Sosua. Originally I had rented a car but those idiots from Nelly insisted on an Insurance package and so I said, f. It, took a carrito to the bus station but it being a Sunday, buses were on a delayed schedule and it was just then I bumped into this "uber" driver.

2. Sosua was nice and warm, indeed it was almost sweaty. Mango trees were in bloom but unfortunately no mango to speak of, to eat. As I do not have any reason to go to downtown, I made it a point to go around and it was kind of amazing to see many restaurants and all bars closed. After Christmas however, several restaurants were open and as I sat drinking an expresso, followed by a grappa, at the Cuban Bar, there were a bunch of people sitting there on the sidewalk having big meals. The group included even babies and I thought it was rather nice. The Canadian Hamburger place at the corner was open too, as was the place in front of the smaller Playero and fortunately the Schnitzel place. Food apparently is not a problem.

3. I did see a quite a few women still walking about but with the main locations shuttered, the glory days were seen in the rearview mirror. As we know, to find women, in Sosua, one does not have to try hard. In any case, I did not find anyone on the street worth the while.

4. I mostly went to Cabarete to eat at the restaurant at the Viva place, called Beach side. Excellent food, not to speak of the location. Those that are romantically inclined, I suggest they take their arm / eye candies over there.

So there it was, an uneventful week, with two women. One in the morning and one in the afternoon each day, showing up at my place and no talk of a blue pill. I even surprised myself! I have a sneaky suspicion though that my male member is enjoying the respite after all that abrasion.

Happy New Year, all!

"...the old Rumba is starting to show signs of life!A Sosua veteran told me that a long time ago, Rumba was an open-air bar where the WGs could be easily seen inside just by standing on the sidewalk outside. And then a few years ago, the local politicians made Rumba enclose itself with smoked-glass windows so that you couldn't see inside anymore.

Take a look at the attached picture that I ripped off from the SosuaNews website. It shows that all of the smoked glass windows have been removed and that Rumba will once again be an open air establishment.

Now, the question: who in their right mind would ever open anything (bar, restaurant, nightclub) in Sosua given the ridiculous rules that constantly emanate from the feckless Sosua "leadership?" And those same people are running for reelection again? Unbelievable!

I have met quite a few girls at Rumba. Freelancers from local area come there early to make some money. Some like to go back home but others would like to stay all night. I would prefer not going to merengue or Classico. Lots of hard core chicas at merengue and Classico does not get hopping till after 1 am.

Hopefully the word gets around and chicas from all over come back to Sosua. Military and the police behavior needs to be watched. Do not know if they are controlled by mayor's office or from central administration.

The mayor has the military and police in her pocket. They will try to get their way one way or the other. Her pride is on the line. Things are escalating in this fight of egos. If she loses it makes her look really bad.

Wrapping up a 2 week trip! Had a good time as usual. Only rained a couple of days!

Things were slow chica wise, as expected for the holidays. But my WhatsApp team took good care of papi! Did 1 new chica off the beach who was great.

Things are a little slow with all the closures. Mainly did the small bars. Went to ahnvee 3 times. Mainly because friends dragged me there. Drinks are double any where else. Hit the casino a few times. Same ole.

Rumor is merengue and flow will be open soon. Not sure about classico.

Sosua lives! Be back in a few months. Peace!

Even "family" couples of all sexes love to get down to the music while on vacation!

Decided to hit Sosua in route back to Medellin to start the New Year. Things sure aren't what they used to be with most of the places on the main drag shut down. No street scene anymore except a few stragglers and there's a bar across the street from Rocky's that's had a few girls out in the evening but they are primarily Haitains, and the bottom of the barrel.

I remember the good old days when you could sit on the main drag sipping a beer, and watch the Putas walking up and down the street, strutting their stuff, but no more. I always loved the street scene here, and when Latinos was around I liked that place as well.

I did pick up a box of Generic Viagra with 96 pills which cost 1100 Pesos or about $ 21 USD or about. 22 twenty two cents a 100 MG pill, so quite a bargain for sure.

So if your coming to Sosua, well the beach is great, and the Viagra is cheap.

Besides going to the new place at the end of town where all the girls go now, probably the best way to work this place is using Tinder.

You can look like Alferd E. Newman and you will get dozens and dozens of hits, so best line them up before arriving and screen them, get their WhatsApp number, etc.

I have been staying at Alicia Beach Hotel, formerly CasaCayena, and it's pretty much the same as before but literally vacant. Got my same old room # 309 which took them a year to renovate and I like the location.

Other than that, what a letdown Sosua has been, maybe one day it will return its glory days. I have such fond memories of this place, but have moved on.

My last trip I cut short because I took the sSue out the rotation. I'm still not going to jump in headfirst. I know the Dominican's love challenge is America two weeks. That could very easily be two months in Dominican time. Or maybe just a ploy to get that Super Bowl money that the city would love to cash in. I'm headed to the DR however I'm going to sit on the fence and observe for a few trips before I make that move northward.

Big Mama just hit me up on WhatsApp everything is open. Theyre going to be some starving chicass ready for business. Im here but Im still not convinced Im ready to go up there yet.Hey Big dude. What did she mean by everything is open? If she is referring to all of the businesses on the strip that were closed, I haven't seen it yet. I have seen tables and chairs setup inside and outside Kings / Rumba. Maybe the other businesses are doing the same. But no actual business or patrons yet. It's 3:30 pm Thursday Jan 9,2020 as I type this. Can anyone else chime in on this?

Sometimes we have to take what locals tell us with a grain of salt. Like Chicken man. He used to try to be the 1st to tell us Rumba was opening on such and such a day, like tomorrow or next week. But his info was usually inaccurate. He just wanted to be the 1st to get people hyped. Thats how rumor mills start and maintain. I'm sure I read somewhere that businesses were supposed to be open on the 5th. That didn't happen.

Does anyone know him or seen him around?

A 42-year-old foreigner drowned yesterday while he was swimming at Cabarete's Encuentro beach.

The deceased was identified as Robert A W, a US citizen, whose lifeless body was recovered from the waters of the Atlantic late Wednesday.

The foreigner reportedly had come as a tourist to the Cabarete area and went swimming despite being warned about the danger of that beach.

The foreigner reportedly had come as a tourist to the Cabarete area and went swimming despite being warned about the danger of that beach. That is the thing about DR beaches. You are at your own risk. A lot of mfs that don't know about the sea can fuck up easily just like he did. At least in Brazil they put out flags to let you know when to stay the hell out of the water.

When I drove 40 minutes from Las Terrenas to El Maron Beach the other day, I immediately saw that I just wasted a bunch of time. The current was so strong that I knew not to go anywhere near that water. But along comes a foreign family. They were not watching and their little 4 year old girl was about to get in the water. I yelled the shit at that little girl. If she would have gotten swept up they would have been minus one kid, because I damn sure would not have risked my life in that kind of current.

I was just sitting back passing off the information waiting for you or someone else who is actually there to confirm it or not. Until I hear it from people like you it's still a rumor to me. As much as I love the Sue and Miss the set up but I am cautious going back.It is 8:00 pm Friday Jan 10,2020. No sign of life with Merengue, Clasico, Bourbon Street, Kings (Rumba location), El Flow (Pranitium?) The closed signs are still posted outside. The main ones open are Flame Bar (dead), Bar Central (mucho patrons inside with a few chicas inside too). Chez Montreal open but sporadic business. Did see a couple of chicas siting inside with some white guys yesterday.

Another interesting thing I observed is about 2 dozen or more chicas walking about on the strip this evening And also around the corner on Dr Rosen. A couple in front of the mercado. A couple standing outside New Garden. While I stood on PC for a few minutes, a Politur pickup pulled up and parked in front of the Chinese general store because they saw some Haitian girls standing around in front.

They scattered. But these officers started walking around looking for girls. The Supervisor walked across to the German restaurant because one girl was standing in front but not with anybody. She pointed inside even though she wasnt with anybody. He told her to move inside the restaurant. Then the officers walked around the corner (Dr Rosen) and started to direct the girls hanging around that bar to move inside.

Oh and BTW, Policia Nacionals and the Politur have been circling around and around all afternoon and early evening. Keeping a close eye on anything they don't like going on in the area especially the strip. IMO, even if some more businesses open up, I can see the police are going to make it very hard for chicas to move about, or even go in or leave establishments on PC. I think the reason I see enough chicas around the strip, is because the night time action at Ahnvee is much later. Meanwhile chicas see potential clients ( guys staying in the hotels ) are around the strip.

Generally speaking, some of the cuties I see walking around look new to Sosua. Just some random chicas here in Sosua to make some money. Usually already schooled to set the price at $100 or 5 k for ST. It's getting closer to SB week. Vet chicas usually start making plans for their rooms way ahead. Because once most of the rooms are taken, chicas will have to stay in Charimicos or PP, or wherever they can. So expect more chicas to pile into town, but also expect the outrageous price expectations to come with it. Good service? Thats another story.

Even if willie wins they probably won't. A lot of this came from Santo Domingo, not just the mayor. When things do reopen, and in my opinion at some point they will, chicas are going to have to go right inside the bar. No wandering around anymore.

I had awesome 2 week run. The smart chicas are taking good care of their clients so they stay in the rotation. Building a WhatsApp team pays off. Peace.

I had awesome 2 week run. The smart chicas are taking good care of their clients so they stay in the rotation. Building a WhatsApp team pays off. Peace.I agree, chicas may be allowed to hang out in the establishments but their movement on the street is going to be a challenge. I have to say, many of the chicas I see boldly walking around in and around the strip, are mostly newbies to Sosua. They are in groups of 2 to 4 walking around like extras in a movie. Then there are the chicas who are on motoconchos or they are driving a scooter (sometimes with other chicas on the back) or in cars full of chicas.

It was interesting that Bar Central had lifted it's windows so you could see inside. It had plenty of guys in there, and a few chicas in there looking for work or already sitting with a client. The German restaurant was full of guys and full of chicas (Haitian mostly). Chez Montreal at the time I passed by had very few patrons and no chicas in or hanging around it. Too exposed to be standing outside. But if you look to the small liquor store across from Chez Montreal, you'll see a few chicas sitting or standing outside looking hard for potential clients walking or driving by.

If you are by Sosua Lights, Banco Progresso or Banco Reservas chicas that stay upstairs (next door to both banks) may be hanging outside or nearby in the area (like near Europa). Always low hanging fruit in the vicinity. Still Politur and PN's are constantly patrolling the area keeping an eye on chica movement. And for those that don't know, just because Ahnvee is the go to spot, chicas still have to be cautious in how they move about to and from Ahnvee. The police are constantly in the area, sometimes parked out front of Ahnvee.

I forgot to mention, that bar around the corner from PC on DR Rosen seems to be a hot spot. Plenty of guys in there, and plenty of chicas in and just outside of the place. Bar Central, German restaurant, and that bar on Dr Rosen are mostly white guys, I dont see any black guys posted up ( looking for chicas ) in any of these places. If black guys are connecting with chicas during the day or early evening, it's from the beach, and the chicas I mentioned that are taking a chance walking around the area, the ones on scooters, and driving around with a car full of chicas, or anywhere near where many of these chicas rooms are. After that, it's Ahnvee, the casinos or clubs near the casinos.

Hello,

new here. First time in Sue. I was walking around on my second night here when two Hati_n girls walked by and I started talking to them. They looked OK but one of them was pretty cute about 5'8" or so. Slender, 32 b maybe. She asked for 3,000 p and I offered 2,500 but realize now I could have easily shaved 500 or more off of that. She took me to someplace that had a room for 500 p. She was basically a dead body after we got in the room. It was really disappointing. Called herself Rossa. I would not repeat and don't' recommend her. She wore her hair straightened and about shoulder length. Her friends hair was short and curly. The issue is I have some red bumps on my leg that I don't know if I got from her or the bed. Wondered if any of you might know what it could be. I thought maybe bed bugs but it doesn't itch. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Keep an eye out they will bury themselves under the skin and make it their home. Within a couple of weeks you will notice itching at night. I got the bug a fews years back at a hole in the wall in Charamicos where a chica was living. Ugly! Keep on top of it and use neem oil to kill them.

I don't remember where I picked it up the second time, but the first time I got it in Brazil in 2005. It might have been 3 weeks before I even realized what it was. Itching and scratching, itching and scratching. I had it in my dick and my hand. Ended up having to buy some Rid shampoo at Walmart both times. Still had that stuff under my counter from the second time years ago.

Luckily mine was not too bad, but terrible. They got on my nuts too. They start moving much more at night and itch so bad you want rip your skin off. I found some stuff online that uses "neem oil" and it worked great. The doctor came up with some kind of toxic horse cream that you cover your body with and it did not work completely. Stuff is dangerous and toxic. You can actually see the feces trail under the skin as they eat their way through your skin. Anyway the neem oil kit will do the job and comes with other things to clean your bed sheets and other things.

It is 8:00 pm Friday Jan 10,2020.

This was the detailed information I was looking for. Thank you.

The foreigner reportedly had come as a tourist to the Cabarete area and went swimming despite being warned about the danger of that beach.Playa Encuentro if that was were this guy drowned is not in Cabarette, but a few miles away from Cabarette towards Sosua. PLaya Encuentro is a surfing beach, versus a swimming beach, with a very shallow reef that during low tide is exposed. I have surfed there many times and have rarely seen anyone swimming there.

Regardless, it's sad that someone so young died swimming.

Because there are no red lines connecting the bumps. Maybe bedbugs or another type of mite. Thanks all for the feedback! Today I heard directly from the mouth of a member of the Tourism Board that all bars are allowed to reopen next week.Just imagine some sort of Ministry of Tourism, or Ministry of War for that matter, starts making decisions on which bars may open in the US.

They have to come clear on why and by which authority they have been shut down in the first place, and don't allow it to repeat again.

Unlike Colombia, somehow Dominicans don't get the concept of the right to work, somehow they have some strange vision of protecting the vulnerable, somehow they find acceptable to harass their own women.

Furthermore, I frankly think it's too European. We need a nice mix, we don't want anyone to start thinking its "their" area, or "they" belong down "there". We always need to maintain balance.

Plus ahnvee needs competition. They should not be allowed to corner the market and dictate to people. I also enjoy being able to make the rounds, hit multiple bars. It would be nice to hit a few places downtown, then hit ahnvee or the casino if I choose to.

The owners have too much invested to let it go. I think they will reopen, but with some restrictions. I don't think it will go back to being the meat market it was. Peace.

They can't just shut them down like that. Prostitution isn't even illegal there bruh.

Secondly, the Europeans do the same thing everyone else does. Bar central, the German bar, city lights, these were full of Europeans chasing chicas, mainly Haitian chicas.

I agree that everyone needs to be discreet and respectful. Mainly discreet, and stop the YouTube videos.

But again, I enjoy downtown, with or without merengue. I DO NOT want to create a situation where Europeans feel downtown is there's and we should be at ahnvee. We have as much money as them, and we also enjoy a quiet dinner and a glass of wine. They do the same thing we do. Let's not start the "apart" stuff. Peace.

Super Bowl Week is almost here. I see a lot more non regulars (Chicas) in town this last week. Many at the beach and Ahnvee. Many chicas seen in packs walking in the vicinity of the strip. Usually looking for stray clients, and making their way to the rooming houses and hotels they are set up at. I expect there will be more showing up in the coming days and week leading up to SBW.

Now for the bad news. In spite of the chica invasion, there is an invasion of mongers as well. Groups of guys. Quite a few guys look like it's their 1st time or they have been to Sosua a couple of times. Then as what was pointed out. I do notice a lot more Europeans in Sosua on vacation. At Ahnvee there is a blend of patrons enjoying the scene.

I do tend to notice that the downtown strip area from Sinatras to Chez Montreal is looking more European now, with some exceptions. Even with pay for play on the strip, you see more couples where the client is white, than you do with any others. Black guys you see out and about tend to dine more at mixed crowd places like-Flip Flop, Terra Linda, Baileys, New Garden, Kings (new location), Sinatras, Ramonas at Europa, and definitely on the beach.

I strongly believe that some of the restaurants on the strip (that have mostly European customers) prefer certain patrons not come. They'll be served, but I believe some patrons don't welcome their presence.

I like the ambiance at The Tree House #112 bar/restaurant on the beach. It can be a mixed crowd one moment, or black or white and locals separately. Either way everyone enjoys it there. Good music ( sometimes adjusted for the crowd ) , good food. A decent but not perfect wait staff. ( hard to find excellence in the DR when it comes to customer service ). Even with the wait staff there is diversity. Haitians and Dominicans working together. The owner a great host aimed to please his customers.

Wrx2005
01-19-20, 15:18
I was there a few times in the past week, and even there I noticed the diversity. Haitians and Dominicans working together. A decent but not perfect wait staff. I do think the staff gets a little more in house training than what is common. A diverse crowd patronizes Mr Flip Flop on the regular. Food and service is good. Nobody there is disgusted by who is sitting next to them. Unless they are rooting for an opposing team. LOL. Again, Mr Flip Flop is a great host (like Sherman at The Tree House) that makes sure his customers are taken care of.

Some people take what Sosua has to offer for granted. But can you imagine spending all your time at resort being treated like cattle? Having to go to their restaurants on a schedule. Whereas in Sosua you can wine and dine all over the town and vicinity, or even buy your own groceries and cook your food.

It's east of Germany restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was good. Had an omelette for breakfast and a fish (dorado) sandwich for lunch.Examples of the seafood you had, and the price? I learned a lesson at Baileys about their fried chicken wings. They are the worst wings on the planet. They taste like they were boiled in hard water, then fried. Look great on the plate. But no flavor and no taste. No sauce in the world will make them wings taste good. But that's just my experience over the years.

Fresh Fresh on the main road, food is good and tasty. Only problem I had, is 3 attempts by one not to give me back my correct change. Two different occasions I paid my bill with a 2000 peso bill. I get my change back minus a 1000 peso bill. And I swear that was no mistake, it was intentional. The 3rd time, I order a beverage (were sitting in the courtyard area) , pay the chick, and she doesn't bring me any change. I wait and wait, to see how long its going to take for her to bring change. Never comes. So I finally get up to call her over because she isn't trying to come anywhere near us.

I say, did you forget to bring me my change? Then she jumps to it immediately. Chick didn't forget. They can act like they are busy, or act like your change was a tip. Some locals at restaurants don't expect some foreigners to count their change for accuracy. They see us used to being engaged eating and talking, not always paying attention to our change when it comes back. Sometimes forgetting it entirely.

Anything they do to shortchange you, they can just act like it was an honest mistake. The sincere act is very phony. They are willing to take that risk. It's a common practice. Always check your change, they can shortchange you 20 pesos to up to 1000 pesos. Every little bit they hustle supplements their pockets / purses. It aint theft to them. It's just business. If you don't check your change, the loss is on you.

I've eaten at Bailee's twice. Once was the 1 lb lobster dinner about 1,750 pesos. The other was a seafood mix plate at about 1,100 pesos. Both were good but lobster is just too damn expensive for me. Their service was slow both nights and their salad bar is a joke. I ate a 1 lb fried red snapper at Flip Flops. It was as good or better and was 1,000 pesos. Service was good at Flips but the food took a pretty long time considering I was the only one eating that night. Thanks for the info on fresh fresh. I haven't had that problem but you never know and it's always good to check. They have another fresh fresh outlet in Cabarete and I've had good service there the couple of times I've gone. It gives you everything rumbas and classicos did but at a better venue. I like the new set up. Pedro clisante has a better look. I saw families walking the streets in the evenings. First in 9 years. The small bars that catered to europeans seemed to be doing much better. Ehnvees location and facilities work. IMHO the mayor has it right.

We can coexist. I loved classicos but it was hurting the towns image.

I was at super pola yesterday and witnessed a mother with 2 small children trying avoid a pro doing the walk of shame in black see threw spandex. I feel bad for business owners who were shut down but their time has run its course. A portion of sosua could not enjoy thier town due to the large numbers that flooded the streets. The current venues are fine. I think everyone is benefiting except the closed clubs but I can live with that.

If you go across the street from Charamicos where the locals eat, it is like 400 pesos. The place across from Caribe Tours (that I believe you are referring to?) does indeed have good prices for fish meals.

Unfortunately for me, the taste of their cooked fish does not appeal to my taste. I feel the same way about going to Maimon for fish. The fish they have indeed has great prices. But in my opinion and experience they don't taste the same cooked, like several restaurants I go to on Sosua beach. And for me, I'd rather pay 600 pesos for a meal I'm enjoying fully, rather than saving 200 pesos, but missing the flavor I like.

Also, I tend to like the option of having yellow rice (with beans if you want it) they serve with the fish on the beach. Whereas that restaurant across from CT I believe only serves white rice. With beans if you want it. I also like the garlic sauce I get from some of the kitchens on the beach. And the steamed veggies are available. Not just salad.

My favorites on the beach are Aris Restaurant #67, Mofongo King #74, Jorge Mayra Rest #64 , Fast Freddies #164 Bear in mind. Jorge / Mayra, Mofongo King, and Fast Freddies have their own kitchens. Whereas Aris, Joselito's Restaurants and a few others, share a kitchen that is located in the alley behind Aris Restaurant.

Walking past Baileys make a quick left at the little park, you run into Sinatras which is on the way to the beach. Then you have Pedro Clisante a main street, and there are several restaurants there. One closed briefly because the owner died. It was called Brittania, I think it had British Flags. Now it's owned by Mateo from Midtown Restaurant. Not sure if any flags are still there. There is Jolly Rogers, but don't recall if they have British Flags outside. Thats funny you recall the flags but don't recall the name of the place, or the name of the street you ate at. Up the hill on the other side of the traffic light, a few years back, for a couple of times. The fish has no taste and I found out why. Most fishes, cotorra (or parrot fish) and Tilapia are frozen stiff in the freezer, who knows from which year.

I am told there is a place beyond cabarete, where they have a fish tank and live fish to serve but I have never been there. May be next time, but it is far. In the meantime, it is good to know the beachside Sosua places that you listed, I presume all of them have fish?

Thanks.Yeah I should have added that tidbit of info. The restaurants I listed are all places I'd get a fish meal from specifically. FYI, I had a 1 lb fried grouper yesterday from Aris restaurant on the beach #67, and my two buddies each had a 1 lb fried red snapper. We each had yellow rice, steamed veggies, and a tiny green salad (not shredded cabbage).

A little garlic sauce on the side. Each meal was 600 pesos, plus a 10% service fee. The bill was 2992 with the inclusion of beverages. 2 small cokes, 2 rum punches , 3 shots of mamajuana , and 1 bottle of water. That averages out to almost 1000 pesos a customer. Three guys.

IMO, a lot of these restaurants make a killing with the cost of beverages. So if one is inclined to do so, they can bring their own ice cold soft drinks or booze. Or they can buy at least one beverage from the establishment, and supplement with their own.

Aris has his own seating inside and just outside of his place. But if you want to set up on the sand (near the walk path , so one can see the chicks nearby ) he'll set up a table over there. Aris's crew or him personally can provide your service, or any of the lounge chair guys will offer you service to Aris restaurant. They get a cut off the bill. Or just let Aris service you, you don't need the lounge chair guys. I just happen to know a few of them, so I let one of them serve me (sometimes) and tip them.

Baileys is top of the chart because it is consistency. Their pizza is my personal favorite follwed by their sea bass. Sinatras was a good option but I think he is under financial stress and the quality of product has slipped. He is looking for a partner never a good thing. Flip Flop is good a option for a quicky. I have not fouund anything on the beach that I trust. For me sanititaion is a issue. Hand washing, keeping produce stable are concerns. The beach could have a renasaiance with day time action moving there. There is nowhere else to go for day time fun but the beach. When the girls figure that out it could be a big time win for everyone.

That would be Sinatra's, on Pedro, on your left before you turn down to the beach. Lots of flags!

Steve has specials on lobster and steak, 2 for 1 price Wednesdays and Saturdays. Decent food, decent price, but much better service than Baileys. He's from my home town in the U. K.

At night he sings, too! Lol

I like Bailey's for certain foods. That goes for a lot of restaurants in Sosua. Everyone has their favorites for whatever reason and there are a lot of them to choose from. Explore and make your own conclusions.Likewise. Baileys has a few items on the menu I like. One I get from time to time is a breaded fish sandwich on a long bun. Comes with lettuce, tomato and onion with tartar sauce. Fries comes with it, I think? I also like Bailey's pizza.

Someone said their salad bar is a joke, and I concur. The cost of beverages there can run the bill up significantly. I'm a stickler against 80 to 120 peso juice or soft drinks that come with a glass full of ice. You get 3 good sips and you are done.

On the beach tree house has good food and great prices. Fast Freddie at 164 is also really good. Mofongo on the beach is good and clean. The german place just pass bourbon is always good. I pretty much stick to those places. Peace.

Yeah I should have added that tidbit of info. The restaurants I listed are all places I'd get a fish meal from specifically.Very helpful. Thanks much!

I am a fish person and one of my pet peeve going to an island is not finding fresh fish that is cooked right on the beach, typically over a charcoal fire. In Sosua, I have not found a good fish place so far so thanks again. That you know, can they do anything else other than frying. I am thinking steamed fish in perhaps a garlic sauce or the Creole kind. The problem with frying is that the freshness cannot be discerned even though if the fish is fresh, it should have a taste and a flavor.

And on that note, is Aris, the best bet among the listed?

I used to rent cars from something called Nelly which has gone terribly down the hill. I never bought insurance (my credit card has plenty) but the last time the suckers doubled down on that and I said no to the rental and got an Uber.

Question to those that rent regularly (at Santiago in particular): which is a reliable and not too pricey car rental company for you folks?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.

And on that note, is Aris, the best bet among the listed?Aris #64, Mofongo King #74, and Jorge Mayra restaurant #64 are all on the same level IMO as far as the taste of their cooked fish. I lean towards Aris because I like the presentation and weve had a business relationship for awhile. Plus I always bring my friends there to dine, and he appreciates that. Sometimes he'll arrange for me to get 2 for one when they have small fish under 1 lb. Not often, but it happens.

The salads are usually a real green salad, not just shredded cabbage. So the other day that I mentioned here, we each had a 1 lb fish, yellow rice (no beans), a separate plate of steamed veggies, and a small green salad on the plate with the fish. So that's 4 items.

Most of the OTHER restaurants provide only 3. The fish of course, and your choice of two items. 1. Rice (yellow or white w / beans or not) 2. Partial green salad (often shredded cabbage mostly), 3. French fries, or 4. Veggies. Two of those listed. So yeah I rate Aris high on the list. The food from the kitchen is consistent, and Aris corrects errors if any. He's a 40 something Dominican., that also speaks perfect English. His aunt works there too. And a couple of wait staff.

Yesterday the same buddies of mine had red snapper at The Tree House #112. One said Aris was better. The other said he liked TTH red snapper a little more. He let me taste it. I agreed it tasted good. Not necessarily better. But I noted that it seemed more flavorful because it was a little more salty. He admitted that may have been what made the fish appear to be better for him. He said he is a salt junky.

Aris fish is not bland in the least. It's flavorful. But it gives you options in case you want to enhance the flavor with a dash of hot sauce, melted butter (which they gave us upon request) or even that garlic sauce. Or nothing at all. The fish tastes delicious without adding anything.

With any of those restaurants. The ones I mentioned or any others, it's best to ask them to show you the fish they intend to cook for you. My "salt loving friend" was charged only 500 pesos (usually it costs 650 pesos for a 1 lb) at TTH for that red snapper. They brought the fish out, and brought it to his attention that it was under 1 lb. If you don't look at the fish before hand, a person may get charged the regular price as if the fish was 1 lb.

When Aris offers me the 2 for one, I don't bother to look at the fish. In fact, I never look at the fish before hand. With Aris, I'm usually good. I do recommend any new customers let Aris show you the fish before cooking it. And lastly, Aris he's on whatsapp. He offers delivery in the area, which I think adds 60 to 100 pesos to the bill. If one is inclined they can give the driver a small propina, although Aris has the driver covered already.

Aris is almost never closed, even most holidays. So on one of those rainy days, and a person cant come out to the beach, they can still have a fish meal delivered to their hotel/apt. Just allow sufficient time. It aint coming in 20 minutes. Be mindful for every 1/2 lb above the 1 lb, add 300 pesos to your fish meal. For instance, a 1 1/2 lb fish meal will be 900 pesos, not the usual 600 pesos for a 1lb fish meal. 2lb fish will be 1200 pesos. Plus the standard 10% service charge.

That you know, can they do anything else other than frying. I am thinking steamed fish in perhaps a garlic sauce or the Creole kind?I missed this part. Every restaurant I mentioned can and does grill your fish. Does not have to be fried. What I like about these restaurants, their fish when it's fried does not appear greasy. The fish is usually tender under the skin. You won't feel guilty because it's fried. You can choose a variety of other entrees on their menus.

Lobster, shrimp, chicken dishes, pasta, soups, burgers, wings. I guess pork and beef items too, I just don't pay attention to those two items.

The red elefante just pass the mamajuana bar is a fav. Good food and prices, very clean, one of the owners always present. Red Elefante and the Mamajuana Bar. Help me find both places? I probably passed them both about 100 times, just didn't know they were there.

Never mind, I think I found it. Above the restaurant and the menu board posted, there is a picture of a red elephant. The name of the restaurant says Elefante Rosso. Rosso is "Red" in Italian. So if anybody is looking for the words Red Elefante you wont see that. Look for Elefante Rosso and the small picture of the red elephant above the restaurant and menu board. Bro I used to go there all of the time. I just fell off.

I guess it's owned by the Italian lady with her Dominican husband/boyfriend? They cook, but also have cooks ( not sure if any are related to her? ).

It's located on Pedro Clisante. Jolly Roger and Matteo Seaside ( formerly Brittania ) restaurants are on the other side of the street. it has sidewalk seating and seating inside. Not a very big place, but very popular.

I love my almost daily walk thru town to the beach.

Lots of holas, smiles and the odd hug!

Yesterday an expat buddy joined me on my walk!

Turns out he knew more folks around town than I did! So he chose the lunch place on the beach.

It was a local holy day, so although there were lots of people on the beach, it was peaceful with no loud music blasting everywhere.

His two pretty servers came over to sit with us between customers, for a vodka cooler and a coke. The young server at the next shack caught my eye, and then she never stopped looking back. OK!

Chica's strolled by, smiling.

Here we were, two old guys having fun with young beauties with real jobs drinking cold beer on a tropical beach in the middle of a Northern winter!

Doesn't get better than this!

A young American friend of my buddy came over to join us, rich, polite, good looking, does not need a job, just his sports, and looks like he won life's lottery, Lol

But he was complaining that his local girl was giving him a hard time.

I've heard it all before, which is why I've always said it's the young guys who have the most trouble with DR chicas. They are normal, fall in love and expect the same. Goes for older guys with big egos, too! Lol

Old guys like us are only looking to have a little fun for a while, with no complications.

It was a good day, and picked up 3 new potentials, if I could ever find time to follow up!

Life is good!

The political circus continues.

The pressure to open up for the rest of high season, starting off with SuperBowl weekend continues.

Good tourist money is being wasted!

They promised that closed "restaurants" on Pedro could re-open if they behaved like restaurants and not hooker joints.

So we have King's (old Rumba) given permission by a highly placed official to re-open Wednesday morning, which they did! But then the Mayor came out and closed it up because they hadn't been issued the proper Official Notice to post on the door, so she ordered it closed last night! Lol. The Official Notice was supposed to be delivered this afternoon so they could re-open at 4 pm today. Hopefully it arrived in time.

El Flo got their Official Notice to re-open so they were good to go today, but the guy not could move his computers back in and set up on time.

Such is the state of the union here, but as I said before, they want that high season money coming back in, before it's too late!

It could be almost business as usual for Superbowl, with Classico open again, but a couple of bar lessees already walked away from the shit after the last closings, and the building owners are scrambling to get new lessees in place. But with the new clubs opening up town, and new local bars discoverd, the choices may actually improve. Some may not go back to the old sweatshop places!

As I also said, the situation won't really settle down until after the February election, when we'll all find out who's actually in charge!

In the meantime folks are still finding ways to have a good time here.

Life goes on!

As a newbie to Sosua I can say that there is enough info in the threads already for newbies to get their feet wet. That's not to say you might not have a poor experience. But that is how we learn. I've had a few poor experiences already here but mostly because I was doing "quick picks" off the street.

I've also been to anhvee twice. Picked a Dominican both times. (not on purpose. Just worked out that way) Both asked for 3,000 pesos for short time. One only offered an hour for that. The other I can't remember if it was 1 or 2 hours. One girl was about a 7 to 7.5. The other was an 8 to me. I offered both girls 2,500 and they both accepted. Both experiences were pretty good but nothing outstanding. But I think that is somewhat the nature of a first time fuck during a one hour session for a newbie. Which could be anywhere not just the. Are.

A lot of these girls look hot from 15 to 20 feet away and when I get within 5 feet I see that they are maybe 7 or less. I don't grade inflate. And of course everybody taste varies! As a newbie I find it a bit challenging to "pre qualify" them before making a final deal. I'm sure that is part art and part science.

All girls so far that I have been with have not been willing to do BBBJ only CBJ. So, will see how it goes. May do one more pick off the street. Some of those Haitian girls looking pretty hot from 20 feet away. LOL.

If you don't establish BBBJ at the very beginning don't expect to Chica to throw it in extra. The reason she establish a time with you is because she's not trying to give me more than what you agreed on.

Keep the bars closed when all of that Superbowl money is coming into town, and you send a lot of angry people to the polls. Allow the bars to reopen, with the owners making that Superbowl money, and a lot less people will be inclined to go to the polls and vote the current politicians out of office.

Personally, I think Sosua Mayor Ilana Neumann is finished. She only got 41 or 42 percent of the vote the last time the Mayoral election was held a couple of years ago, but won because she got the most votes out of the 4 or 5 candidates who ran for Mayor. Now, Mayor Neumann is only up against Wily Olivences, who got the second most votes the last time the Mayoral election was held.

The people of Sosua have a choice: Either stay with Mayor Neumann's shit show, or go with someone who might actually inject renewed life into a failing tourist town. What will the people decide? We will know in a little over two weeks.

So the owners of these bars are locals that are allowed to vote? And if they are, there are what? all of 6 bars that had to close? So 6 votes are going to swing the polls the other way?My friend, I know you're a lot smarter than that comment. Let's take a look at what happened in November 2019:

https://www.sosuanews.com/index.php?id=5734&article=1

As the article points out, closing the bars doesn't affect only the owners. It also affects maintenance staff, security staff, cleaning staff, taxi / motoconcho staff, fashion stores, beauty / massage salons, and as you and I both know, the WGs. In my opinion, Mayor Ilana Neumann and her ilk were so rattled by the protest that they cooked this up only 24 hours later:

https://www.sosuanews.com/index.php?id=5736&article=1

You know as well as I do that closing the bars and keeping them closed affects hundreds of people, not just 6. And with the Mayoral election being between only Ilana Neumann and Wily Olivences, hundreds of votes can easily be the deciding factor between who wins and who loses.

The question at this point is, are the people of Sosua happy with Neumann and her policies, or are they fed up and ready for a change? If they're happy and motivated to vote, you can expect Neumann to win. If they're fed up and motivated to vote, you can expect Olivences to win. And as I said in my original comment:

What will the people decide? We will know in a little over two weeks. That's my two cents. Hopefully, you won't think I was trying to troll or insult you. There's already enough of that on ISG and I try not to add to it.

It is a political circus that sees old Rumba opening one day, closed that same evening, reopened in the morning and, as of yesterday, closed again, LOL.

I've also pointed out a couple of times in recent posts, (see below) that some resolution to the mixed up policy should occur after the February election.

My reports on bar closings and reopenings, comes directly from observation on the ground.

My understanding of why, and what leverage is being used politically on the closed businesses comes first hand from a major player in the business (who shall be nameless) and who has been attending these meetings for a couple of years now. The reference to the demand that they operate as "restaurants" only, is part of the ongoing negotiations to clean up the downtown and the promises that were made to the bar owners!

Take it or leave it!

Whatever the outcome of the election Sosua I believe will never be the same. It was essentially a brothel town to start with many brothels all over the place. Then it became kind of different with bars and discoes. Still the girls came hoping to make money. Street walkers and beach walkers during daytime plied their trade.

This does not distract the family tourists who tend to ignore everything. In Thailand prostitution and go go bars are in your face wherever you go. Bars are full of girls even on islands plying their trade. Did not affect the tourism at all and in fact increasing.

But at the same time in Sosua once the changes take place it is very hard to come back to previous time. All businesses are scared and will not invest. Maintenance of bars and hotels will not take place. Everybody will just try to survive.

Almost every town has a Main Street where everything happens and people feel comfortable in that area. Moving to separate entertainment area will not entice people to go there.

I remember here in USA there were many many strip bars all over the place. Slowly it was curtailed and restricted to zoning to remote places. Initially all moved but very few survived. Nowadays you will be hard pressed to find a decent one. I liked it when they brought in beautiful Russian girls.

I was there 2 weeks ago and viewed 1st hand the new setup. I thought it was a great setup. Everyone had what they wanted. The streets were not over flowing with putas. Couples and families could walk the streets. The establishments that catered to Europeans were doing a brisk business and I was having a ball on the other end of town. I hope the mayor wins because her solution works for me and for everyone else.

But Sosua is not that big so they are all still relatively close to your hotel.

The hardcore hookers are still here, some of whom I have known for 10 years. It's still easy to pick up a chica, or even a SUV load to party with. Smart phones have replaced the "stroll".

As long as prostitution is legal in Sosua, and solicitation is not a crime, and mongers (the real problem) and their money, are welcomed, the party will continue.

Another big test is here SuperBowl weekend. Ahnvee is promising a party to end all parties, sounds like orgy central.

We'll see if it gets shut down, at some point.

Interesting, but still fun times for the punters!

I just don't want to much separation. The Europeans are not the only people who enjoy a nice meal and glass of wine in a quiet downtown. Downtown should be for everyone who can relax, move respectfully and enjoy it. Peace.

One Sue regular told me he started coming to Boca Chica's just because it's one of the only place left you can sit enjoy a beer and watch an active stroll.

I agree that it will never be the same. Clearly they want it quiet and more discreet. I'm ok with that. I can clearly see their point.

I just don't want to much separation. The Europeans are not the only people who enjoy a nice meal and glass of wine in a quiet downtown. Downtown should be for everyone who can relax, move respectfully and enjoy it. Peace.I disagree. It will pretty much remain a party town dependent on legal prostitution for it's economy.

There are many venues, in DR and all over the Caribbean, that provide a quiet and discreet vacation, and like minded folks are flocking there, not Sosua!

I hope the mayor wins because her solution works for me and for everyone else.Well, very respectfully to you, apparently it didn't work for the owner of Rocky's. This was posted last night in the "The Future of Sosua" thread over on the DR1 website:

"Hi folks,

I am very sorry to report that Rocky's Rock and Blues Bar will be closing for good as of the evening of January 31st. What has been happening in Sosua has sent 95 percent of our regular clientele to greener pastures, namely, Colombia.

Milka and I have had an incredible run thanks to all of the support from everyone and beyond but we have had enough.

Please come by Friday, January 31st for our every last "All you can Eat" BBQ and say goodbye to old friends and new.

I am officially retired collecting 2 pensions from Canada so Milka, Daenerys and I will be just fine.

It has been an incredible experience meeting all of you and I'll still be around Sosua, wanting to spend time with all of you and enjoying the company of real friends.

Thank you all for an incredible 11 years at Rocky's and take care.

Rick".

I think I remember reading on the same website, though, that Rocky's owner / management was involved in a legal dispute, which might explain the closure. Someone please correct me, if I'm wrong about that statement.

Rumbas is open again, for how long though??That is a good question. I was there last night and it was dead. Very few females walking by the place. The police are patroling the area frequently. Starting at Classico and working your way back to Rumba, there are only three bars open and that includes rumba). The girls are congregating at the Ahnvee and the bars near the resort. The one bar across from the Ahnvee, I think it's called NYC was decent. Mostly a dominican crowd, the music, and the talent level was nice but be careful they tried to pad my bill. I was there on a Sunday night.

COURT ORDERS NATIONAL POLICE TO REFUSE FROM DISTURBING ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES OF HOTEL BAR CENTRAL DE SOSÚA

PUERTO PLATA.- The Judge President of the Civil and Commercial Court of the Puerto Plata Judicial District, Judge Nassín Eduardo Ovalle Estévez, by sentence, ordered the commander of the Police in the municipality Sosúa, Colonel Anicasio Guillen Guzmán, to refrain from disturbing the development of the commercial activities of the Hotel Restaurante Central located in Pedro Clisante street of that demarcation.

Judge Ovalle's ruling occurs in response to a remedy for preventive protection, filed by the legal representative of the Central Hotel, Mr. Manuel Danilo Reyes Marmolejos, who revealed that he saw the need to act legally after the aforementioned company was closed arbitrarily by the National Police, in the absence of a court order and without an express order from the Public Ministry for the use of public force, which occurred last November.

As explained by Mr. Reyes Marmolejos, the court ruled in favor of his client, understanding that one of the fundamental roles of the National Police, is to ensure compliance with laws in the country, without incurring failures that affect the law of the natural and legal persons in the Dominican Republic.

During the month of November, several institutions deployed an extensive operation to close bars and restaurants on Pedro Clisante Street in the municipality of Sosúa.

...............I remember here in USA there were many many strip bars all over the place. Slowly it was curtailed and restricted to zoning to remote places. Initially all moved but very few survived. Nowadays you will be hard pressed to find a decent one. I liked it when they brought in beautiful Russian girls.P4P is changing around the world. There are so many places I used to have great mongering experiences in that are no more, for example, ChangPing in China, Geylang in Singapore, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Rio is not what it used to be. My best mongering of all time was in NYC in the '70's and '80's. My best mongering now is in FKKs in Germany and am spending my first winter in Germany just for that. Maxing my experience before change comes.

For those of us who live here and know Sosua well, we are aware that locals:.

A. Don't speak formal Spanish.

Arguments and misunderstandings over language, are a waste of time.

B. Do not understand the Western concept of Name, Number, Street, Town.

They go by landmarks, designated by their own local usage. Rumba is always at the main corner, no matter what it is called today. So-called New Rumba, is still referred to as Morua Mai, El Flo is still what they call the various names for Premium Bar, and Classico is how they refer to Club 59 Disco.

Even La Passion, a burnt out hulk, now occupied by Hatian squatters, is still a known destination of moto drivers, and they'll drop you off at that corner. The Texaco station will always be a landmark, no matter if it changes name tomorrow. don't ask them to take you to Mateo's Seaside bar, because it will always be Britannia Pub. Or Rehab on the beach. You'll have more luck with Scandinava bar. Longest occupation rules!

C. They tolerate, but have no real respect for mongers. Only their dinero!

They generally consider mutual time spent with mongers, even long and mutually groping conversations as working time, and expect something in return. They consider "fist bumps" and handshakes from strangers as an express desire to be friends.

D. They operate under a different economy than foreigners.

Those who expect that when a restaurant tab says "propina included", that's what it means. Servers rarely, if ever, get to share that!

E. Hoes consider everything they do with a john, in addition to lying there and letting you pound their ass for a designated period of time is worthy of a propina. Even sitting with you in your favorite restaurant over a candlelit dinner when they are starving, Lol. They'd often prefer to be somewhere else!

Forget the enthusiastic squeals, and writhing, "Si mas papi", it is not your sexual prowess they are impressed by. Lol.

F. Renting a car is mostly a scam game! Nothing like the TV commercials at home.

Damage assessment is in the eye of the beholder, CC insurance is often not recognized or disputed, proper maintenance is rare and can lead to breakdown, and deposits are withheld in disputes, you are an invitation to moto accident set ups, and cop check point scams.

************************

So that's how DR works for the average, and newbie, monger, and yes, they are street smart experts at psychology, and can size up a non resident in a New York Minute!

Now you can argue about who is right and who is wrong forever, and stand on your own "foreign" (to them), principles, but you'll be doing that all your trip, at the expense of your peaceful and harmonious, well earned, vacation.

But some mongers love these constant challenges and confrontations to their sense of right, it pumps up their jaded adrenaline, and gives them a high! As the endless stream of same old, same old, stories of rip offs, and attempted rip offs posted here attest to. I hear it all the time from some guys here who just seem to have a Charly Brown dark cloud that seems to follow them around! Lol

These folks should be avoided like the plague for a peaceful, harmonious vacation.

I do that and in 10 years of visiting and living here I can't say I have ever been ripped off, once!

My 4 year regular has to be schooled once in a while, that my dinero is limited, by my budget, and my inclination, and that I'm not an ATM machine. Sometimes I have to send her home for to make that point. It used to be hard to do that when they give you everything they have got to give, but reality must prevail or you join the ranks of the bitterly disappointed, and even controlled.

My two cents for a happy and satisfying visit!

I love my life here with the locals.

A lot of crazy stuff still going on here, Superbowl weekend.

The boys are back in town, and so are the chicas, but now, instead of everybody on main street, the parties have moved to different locations around town, hotels, Ahnvee, smaller bars.

SW central (such as it is) runs now from the main corner up Pedro a little, and from the main corner up to NG. And there's a traffic jam in that area as the boys drive by to pick up a car load to go. And there's also the beach, which was active.

In spite of my personal reservation about renting cars in Sosua, it does seem to be the best way for a group to get around to the different parties, and pick up chicas. (As long as you let someone else drive. LOL).

The cops seem to have disappeared from the streets, but see below.

I walked past old rumba and bar central yesterday, and the boys were posted up watching the chicas go by but nowhere near the numbers of last year at this time. I carried on up to my local to meet a buddy, and he came in just after me and told me the cops showed up and had just closed up rumba, and bar central again. Didn't believe him (I was just there) until another buddy came in and confirmed. WTF? 4 or 5 times in 5 days? He explains shit about competing Official Orders, Court Injunctions, Cop raids, and Mayor's personal actions.

Completely fucked up, but I'm betting they'll be opened tomorrow again. Maybe even classico might be unchained in time. We'll see!

Lol, GM.

We have not always agreed in the past, but let me return the compliment!

Allow me to quote something you just said in another forum about the local culture, which is also right on.

""I tried to explain to them yes there are SW all over the country. There are also women who wouldn't dare sell their body on the streets to strangers, but if they meet and / or are introduce to man who is interested in them, they can be enticed with money, cellphone, hair Or other commodities for the exchange of sexual favors. These Hoes don't consider themselves prostitutes. Dominican culture somewhat bolsters their outlook of it not being prostitution. Smart Chicas try to keep your money circulating within their own circle of friends and family members. Some vets have been introduced to chicas through their own mothers or grandmothers. They don't see it as prostituting their love ones. ".I learned from my many travels to Rio, it's similar. Sosua is like the "Golden Triangle" of Copacabana. Many fellas were stuck and caught up with in Copa like they are in Sosua. Now that the Meia Pataca and Help are gone, so are the girls on hoe beach, and many dudes took Rio out of their rotation. For those of us who didn't rely on the Golden Triangle for our vacation in Rio, we still can go and leave there with smiles on our faces and leave it all there. I didn't do the boat parties, apartment parties, the frat parties, I didn't do Help, and I didn't do groups. If I saw you there then we greet, eat, and drink a chope. We left the dumb shit to the dumb drama to the fellas who go overseas to act like they are in the states. Super Bowl?

Again, Super Bowl! I do not want to knock it, but why go all the way to Sosua to watch the damn Super Bowl so the locals can exploit you! And that's what it is about, exploitation. The Sosuans are not stupid. The government and police are smart enough to have their own intelligence to know what they are doing. Grant it, they may be f'd up with urban planning and business sense, but believe me that they have a strong intelligence and read all the sex boards and watch all the youtube videos about Sosua. So who are we fooling. They know. And after the Cuba Dave BS he published in the Miami New Times in 2013, they know. And now there are many new cats who are youtubers giving up info like hoes on Pedro Clisante. Why can't fellas shut the f--k up? The message about the old Sosua caused the original Rhumbas, Passions, and CPM to close. All the white catering businesses do not have police in front but all the Super Bowl activity this weekend is on the radar.

The police will soon focus on BS enforcement, like petty traffic citations, and with that will come bribes. You see what's happening with the motoconcho checkpoints and impounds of bike. The police will impound rental cars and give citations to the car loads of black gringos with NFL jerseys, and it happen last year and the year before that. I know a few lawyers who were used to help fellas get out of driving and rental car issues. So why go to a small banana republic country and wildout as if you are in the states, doing what Dominicans do? Why go to Sosua and become an easy target? And it beats me why anyone would try and open a business in Sosua to work for pesos. You will never be allowed to go to the DR to get over. The Dominicans are nice people, but everyone see an American, Canadian, or European as a target. And a business woman in Sosua told me that in their mind, any gringo who moves to their country must be broke, and move to the DR because they are barely affording to live in their country. I have been going to Sosua and DR since 2009, and all I can say is do not let the Dominicans play us, because they have enough knowledge to manipulate us with their home field advantage and will always be 2 steps ahead of all you let them know from their free ISG membership and free youtube subscription.

Enjoy the Super Bowl! I can't wait for all of you to leave so I can enjoy Sosua without the herds and hype!

Just got back from my first visit in 2 years. If I didn't go with my gut instinct and listened to everything I've read in this thread, one would think Sosua dried up like the desert, with empty presidente bottles left behind.

I enjoyed my stay, just like I've had on many trips in the past 12 years.

Ahnvee is the spot to be, finally they brought some style and class to the neighborhood, I really enjoyed everything about the outdoor party, the variety was top notch. The place has something for everyone.

Yesterday I was grabbing an early evening drink after a day at the beach, I stopped by the big outdoor corner spot across the street from Bourbon, I believe its called "Keens", idk for sure. There were about 3 tables with 4 chicas sitting at each, some gents along the bar stools including myself, and a few scattered around, it was not many people. As soon as I took my first sip from the bottle, a marked police truck rolled up, along with an unmarked truck with military looking personal, and some people that said municipal on their shirts, they walked in like a scene out of CSI, small crowds gathered looking at the commotion, I kept sipping my drink watching the show, minutes later the waitress came up with my check, I paid right away, continued enjoying my drink, the chicas were escorted out the back gate, after about 15-20 mins, the owner comes up to me and a coupe gents, asks us respectfully to finish our drinks and if all goes well come back in an hour.

The neighborhood did change, it feels a bit quieter, but its not dead, its not boring, they just cleaned it up a bit. It went under the radar for decades, and I have a good feeling in a matter of years, things will go back to the old grimy scene that it was made for. We have to keep in mind, it is election year as well.

On the last I was not being careful to lock my phone. She stole the phone before leaving.

No need to treat girls badly but need to let them know you mean business. Otherwise they will use you and exploit your nice demeanor. Remember vast majority are seasoned prostitutes and they will never think twice about stealing, not providing good service, not sticking to the original deal etc.

Very few mongers are into dating there. Even if some come across as being two day old virgins, they are in the business.

I know some dominicans see gringos as show offs. They say, they come here and act rich, but in their country they not rich. There's some truth to that. But most guys are just enjoying a hard earned vacation while also enjoying the exchange rate.

I've also had chicas complain that I pay the same price I paid 2 years ago. They seem to have no concept of supply and demand. LOL. Its all good, just interesting.

I was there 2 weeks ago and had the same experience Ahnvee is a great venue. Plenty of room and women. No one enjoyed Classicos any more then me but I did not miss it. What I did miss was sitting in front of El flow and watching afternoon action stroll the streets. One of my buddies is on the ground giving me updates. Says the place is packed and he is having a ball.

I spend far more time with local semi pros and ex hookers than with ex pats, and mongers. Some I've known for 10 years. Some are are now sad sacks that I help out with a few pesos when they are hungry (for old times sake, Lol) and quickly send them on their way.

I'm retired. Back home we have 5 months of winter, guys my age are dying like flies. Here in the sun you can add a few more healthy and happy years to your life. Even on a limited budget, you can feel rich here.

Typically, while I'm having a beer in my local bar, We got a young local beauty that would stop traffic back home, who goes down the street and does my shopping, agua, leche, pan, coffee, fruta, imported beer. Yesterday she sent a chico to climb to the very top of a big tree to get me some ripe mangos. I buy her a beer. And promise that one day when my regular is not around, I'll fuck her. She tells me what she'll do for me! We've been having this same conversation for the last 3 years, but she's just a good amiga, one of our circle of locals.

Life is good, Brother P, and it looks like you have figured how to max it out!

Hey fellas,

Wondering if I can get your advice on the Su as it is currently. I had my first ever trip down to the Su last year in January and tbh I didn't much enjoy it. I, however, really think that was due to some mistakes I made rather than the Su itself. It was my first mongering experience and I wasn't savvy to the culture. I wanted to try it out again, but it seems like the Su has changed drastically from just a year ago. Seems like all of the talent is concentrated at Ahnvee.

My first trip I stayed at Hotel Europa and it was a good choice for a newbie I felt. I have heard from other brothers that Europa is still a viable spot for the current scene in the Su. Is this true or are there other places to stay that you guys would suggest over Europa? What can I expect to pay in moto or taxi fees to Ahnvee from Europa? Are there other spots for chicas outside of Ahnvee? Have heard daytime action is largely based around the beach and baileys. Apologies for the wave of questions, but I am trying to make sure I put in my due diligence in research so that my 2nd go at Su hopefully goes better.

No need to treat girls badly but need to let them know you mean business. Otherwise they will use you and exploit your nice demeanor. Remember vast majority are seasoned prostitutes and they will never think twice about stealing, not providing good service, not sticking to the original deal etc.I'm with Sammon on this one. Who gives a fuck what the prostitutes think? I know I don't. Anymore than I do about what my mechanic thinks of me when I have the oil changed in my vehicle, what the server thinks of me because I order water in the restaurant and drink at home (that's how I can afford my vehicle) or the person checking me out of the grocery store thinks about what I am buying. They are there to do their jobs and perform their service. If they act like professionals they will earn the treatment of a professional. Someone said something similar about respect. It's in the record.

Note that this principle is applicable if you live / visit Sosua or Santo Domingo.

Afternoons there is action at the main beach.

As for hotels, the heart of the new action, is Ahnvee, but has gotten mixed reviews here! My recommendations for relatively inexpensive hotels have been consist, New Garden and Europe, never had a serious complaint if you pay attention to basics, proximity to noise etc.

NG is close to casual street action, and Europe is now more central to the area at large.

Maybe other posters will add answers to your questions.

Good luck, and let us know!

Europa has big rooms with kitchenettes but its old and outdated. Had to switch rooms last time be the room smelled funny and gave me a headache. White stuff was on the bed sheets from paint that was falling of the ceiling.

Romanita bar is good to hangout and right in front of Europa. The girls there are in play and its two bars across the street. So you can shop in the Europa area easily.

I love public transportation in the DR, never needed a car. It might be an add on for night service to go to Ahnvee but between 50 pesos and 100 pesos each way might be the cost.

Last trip (The weekend before the shutdown) I stayed at New Gardens in the new wing and loved it.

Ahnvee I have heard is mixed with the reviews.

I've been a little lazy about searching for new chicas. I decided to give my "8" a second date to see if she improved any. She did some. Mostly on the kissing which was better. Some open mouth but no tongue which is fine. Still no BBBJ on date 2. Also paid the moto 100 pesos for delivery but nothing for leaving. Just too damn convenient to do delivery than to go out searching eventhough I'm curious what I might find. Date 3. No moto charges. She handled that. I don't know where she stays exactly but I know it's not far. Also date three finally BBBJ! Tried for uncovered F_ but no dice there. Also tried for leche in mouth but no dice there either. Date 4 same as 3 nothing new. May finally go out hunting later in the week. Wouldn't mind one with bigger tits. But will have to see. She wears a noticeable amount of makeup but I guess it works).

For as along as you have "boots on the ground" there is opportunity. Keep searching you will find one that will let you "flood the zone" borrowing a football term. If you like it, I love it!

And I thank you very much about your post on having sex with chicas in Republica Dominicana! Live long, and may the pussy be with you always!

Went looking for a new one tonight. Was there around 10:30-11:00 pm. Wasn't as packed as last time. I was somewhat surprise by that but maybe just too early. If anyone else went later let us know if it got packed. Not so good at estimating numbers, 50 chicas? For me it was slim pickings. Just very little of interest. I spotted a girl in a white dress with big tits and a nice body, don't like a huge ass. But she was walking out with her girlfriend! Wtf? Was a bit far to chase but would have like to have had a closer look at her. Talked briefly with a Haitian girl that was attractive but just not what I wanted. Was walking around when I saw a girl walking somewhat my direction she was spinner type and looked pretty good. I said hola but I guess she wasn't interested. She said hola and paused very slightly but continued walking. Maybe meeting her friends or something. I would have liked to talk with her a bit. She had potential. So, that left just one other girl that I had seen earlier that I thought was a maybe. I went over to her and started talking to her. She was from Santo Domingo. Came here Thursday and said she was leaving tomorrow. Said it was her first time in Su? Said she was 23. Very petite. 5'3"ish. Very cute face but maybe not as pretty as my "8". Said her name was Charina. Had on a tinted wig. Damn those things shed. She seemed nice enough. Made a deal for "2 hours" She asked how much I wanted to pay. I said 2,000. She said 3,000. I said 2,500 and she took it. 100 pesos moto to my place. She was probably the warmest / nicest so far. BBBJ. And I asked if she would lick my balls and she did some. Covered F. She had nice nipples on maybe 32 B cup. There were maybe two other girls there that looked interesting to me but they were with guys already.

Anyone willing to make a fun and friendly prediction as to who the winner will be? I predict Willie El Chamo beats incumbent Ilana Neumann 51 percent to 49 percent, respectively. What say you guys?

I seriously need to join the site, but I didn't expect my plans to change so quickly either. I'll be flying into POP Monday and back out the next Tuesday. Was supposed to be a trip with the girlfriend (spent a month in DR over 2 trips the last year with her) . But. Well. Not so much now, so I'm single and staying at Europa instead of original plans. Time to make the best of it!

I would be perfectly happy to buy a couple drinks and such for anyone who would like to chat and / or guide me a bit. Just wings and beers with a friendly soul is good with me. Not looking to get into too much trouble, but don't plan on coming back home without getting into some trouble! I would hope to have a couple great reports when I come back. I guess I'll find out soon though!

It's too manufactured, to put on. It lacks the natural feel of merengue or classico. Plus the drinks are way overpriced.

My Spanish is pretty good. I enjoy a nice glass of wine and a good meal downtown. I enjoy the music and conversation. I don't want to be confined to ahnvee. I don't want other races thinking downtown is theirs.

I've been hearing since December that ahnvee is on the s at at t list. Too much attention. Dudes can't stop with the YouTube videos. Wouldn't surprise me if some action was taken after the election.

IMHO That segregation or separation is targeted toward the Haitians. There wasn't A major problem with guys doing videos. Video footage of the Su has been floating around for years. That's why the club still allows video coverage inside of the resort. They actually want the promotion. When you control the movement of the people you control who is allowed to enter the premises. Thus no more freedom to roam hurts the Haitians the most because some don't have paperwork.
And even if they did have paperwork unless they are a little connected no entry. The Dominicans don't mind black or white Americans money, but they do have a problem with the Haitians getting money.

My restaurant business contacts say it's because if the elections don't go the right way for some, the natives can get very restless! LOL.

I left the Sue yesterday. I was told to hurry up and get alcohol because all the places will be closed due to the election on Sunday. Once I arrived in Boca Chica took a break and later that night decided to hit the block. It was about 1201 midnight. I hadn't seen a block so empty since I was in Cuba The same week Fidel past.

Unexpectedly I found myself in the Sue. I walk from the bus station to my apartment and it was a sad sight. A few Haitians lurking in the dark or walking like Deers from corner to corner.

There were about 9 to 11 guys posted up at Rumbas looking out toward a empty street. I guess old habits are hard to kill. Kind of feel sorry for the guys. Remind me of an elephant refusing to leave the side of her baby hoping she would get up from off the ground, however it's obvious it's dead. Nothing your waiting will do because it's dead.

Ran into my man Angelo and he reminded me the action was further down closer to the club now. I did not know how far down it was but besides a very little beach action there wasn't much of any action. Kool, I have WhatsApp drought no problem for me. I have a little catching up to do with my regular anyway. 1500 exit fee.

Later We walked toward Ahnvee about 12:30 AM. The motor Scooter guys quickly jumped out. We were in front of city lights. I asked how much to go to the club and they said 100 pesos. I looked at him as if he was stupid. My friend who had already jumped on the motor scooter before asking how much, jumped off followed my lead.

I've never been to the club but I know it's not passed the casino. I Only pay 50 pesos to go to the casino. I know we are only talking a dollar but I'm in Dominican mode. Had we not asked they would have charged us 200 pesos as we found out a few guys were charged.

Anyway we told them No and took about 20 steps before a group of chicks driving a car was asking us to come on and get a ride. We hopped in the car with them and it was about a minute or 2 ride from Europa.

I would have been Gringo hustled had I gave 200 pesos or even 100 pesos for a 5 peso ride. I don't even complain when a Dominican tries to hustle me I just don't give them my business.

There was a line of chica waiting to get in and a separate line for men. Security was checking for alcohol.

Inside the club I saw Haitians and Dominicans. I have to respect the fact that they seem to welcome everyone for the most part. I mean I saw some Haitians that were too Haitian for Classico.

The place was very crowded and I like the outside vibe. It wasn't a club atmosphere. It was more like a meeting area with plenty room to move around. It was not crowded and people were relaxed. A lot of black and white guys and a bit of Dominicanos.

The DJ sucked and there was no area where I seen people dancing. The drinks were reasonably priced. The area was a nice open air chill spot. It wasn't until later on Friday night that they open the club part.

The club part was an upstairs area on the third floor. It was everything Classico was. As a matter of fact you can call it little Classico. At about 2 o'clock the place felt like Classico. I seen Chica ranges from 2 to 8. Not many 9's.

I love the fact that you can go downstairs chill and get out of the pack club scene. The place is equipped to accommodate almost the whole block.

I was saying to myself if I was new on vacation, I would make this work for me. Or if I love the club scene I couldn't complain with the new changes. However, I've been coming to the Sue too long and I'm used to cake with icing and a cherry on top. This place is just a poundcake and the quality of chicas did not impress me.

I was in the Sue for two days and only got with my PP regular. Both nights we left the club empty-handed. My boy Jay did pull one as we were walking away from the club for 1500 pesos. I did get offers but I did not take them up. I hadn't even got a quote on a price. I was impressed with the layout and unimpressed with the selections. I think I witness more dimes in Classico.

Yesterday was election day. If the changes stay permanent in the Sue the Sue will survive and always be a place to go and meet Chicas. For a lot of us veterans it's not the organize noise that we fell in love with in the past. That's a hard pill to swallow however it's a pill you must swallow once you get here.

The numbers are nice at Ahnvee. The quality met my needs. I like good sex and the dimes have not aways been good performers. Ahvee has the numbers of the old strip under one roof. There so many girls I ger over whelmed. I am older now and don't like being in clubs late at night. I usually find my chicas in 30 minutes or less and head back to the room. Diimes tend to want mucho denero. I find attractive girls who are happy some one got them out of the club and they show their gratefullness in bed. I Have been going to the sue for 8 years so I know what it use to be. I have made the adjustment to the new setup and I like it.

I have made the adjustment to the new setup and I like it.Just wanted to chime in on the new look of Sosua. Been going for years and the change I belive at this point is permanant. I am waiting to see what the new area contruction will bring. I don't like Ahnvee period. It's like being locked in corral like animals with a bunch of folks you don't really want to sit with. My date and I were sitting at the pool bar and guys come and plop their asses down on the bar to sit. Same with the tables near the kitchen. To damn lazy and disrespectful to pull up a chair. Sat right on the edge of the table. Not to mention to knuckleheads throwing up money and making it rain. Who still does that? Over the Superbowl it was packed and good a time was had by all. When the slow season hits it will be ugly, although the action will still be there. The beach is the new walking area in the daytime after that you have to wait until late night to go to Ahnvee. The new contruction and resorts are a fact and in full swing. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the new area will produce daytime bars and action and a sidewalk for the honey's to stroll. In the meantime I am cruising the streets hitting the little local bars. Let the newby's have Ahnvee and bring back my old Sosua.

Peace,

Bumped into Charina today walking around. I had visited with her once before. She is about 5 ft tall. Very petite. Super firm ass. Smaller tits with good nipples. She is Dominican and her hair is currently colored fuchsia (straight and long). So, she is easy to spot with that hair. She is visiting again from SD. I highly recommend her. You can find her at Ahnvee probably most any night. She will be here at least a week she said. She has a very nice chill vibe. Gives me BBBJ. I didn't try to negotiate down from the previous 2,500 peso agreement.

Some ISG vets and me always got a kick out of guys asking over and over again if the Country they are interested in has a place like the former Help in Rio.

Well from the limited reports I have seen about Ahnvee it would appear that this new joint may have a taste of Help in it.

I guess I'll ask a few dumb questions. Is it ok to visit without being a hotel guest? Is there a takeout fee?

I plan on staying at New Garden per Mr. Slick { Go Go}. It is close by and the word is they have a great breakfast included into the room rate.

I'm a funny type of guy. I see a lot of Sosua Vets looking to go to Colombia instead of the DR. That is fine with me as I have had my fill of Colombia and I like to swim against the tide so I'm going to give Sosua another try. It has been about 11 years since my last visit there. Of course a TR will follow if I pull the trigger. The main thing that is holding me back is there are no flights to Sosua. My airline arrives in Santiago at 2 AM and leaves for FLL at 3 AM. I know it may be a small thing for some but I like to have better air times than that. Yes I know from Miami the times are better but my home city only goes to FLL.

During my visit a few years ago I ate breakfast there every morning. Great breakfast in the style of my country of origin. Also, I liked to get a table overlooking the street. I always enjoyed watching the walk of shame from there.

Yes, any guy can visit. No takeout fee. Just a cover fee to get in lately. The girls that are working are independent. You make a deal with them. I've only made short-time deals so far at 2,500 pesos but YMMV. I'm sure less popular girls can be had for less. One of the locals that drives a moto gets his for around 1,500 but told me some of the top girls would not take 1,500.

Ahnvee is wide open and free admission. A mini Help is a good comparision. You will have a great time. Plenty of women waiting for you. The venue is very attractivr. Large screen TVs everywhere. The staff doesa realgood job serving.

Nothing makes my dick more harder than a guy saying he just session a chica and telling me I should try her next.

Can you guarantee she's going to give the same service as she gave you. If she steals from someone after you suggested her will you re-compensate anything stolen. Newb. Newb ok enuff said.

All jokes aside I'm glad you're enjoying yourself.

I know a good driver, but he charges 100. In box me if you want the contact.

Your a vet, so you'll figure it out quickly. I will tell you Dominicanas are not generally as GFE as Colombianas.

The trick in sosua in my opinion is to build a WhatsApp crew and session with them at least once per trip. My experience is the sex just gets better and better. It takes time, but the smarter chicas will appreciate being a regular and will take care of you. I love the sue. The beach, the camaraderie, etc. But it's better now that I have a solid team. Peace. Enjoy!

I was there for a five day stint.

I get to Santiago using a red eye (annoying but is more affordable and works with my work schedule, even though I paid a hefty $650 which is cheaper compared to Pto Pta). I have an Uber driver who took me to Sosua (2000 pesos) but first I went to a Santiago supermercado and both I and the Uber driver had breakfast. Got to Sosua at about 8 AM. I stay at an apartment and had asked the driver to buy me some fresh goat meat which I can cook there. He did.

As a reminder, I go to Sosua, not for the women walking about (there are fewer and fewer of them anyway, visibly, with cops scaring them away) as women can be found all over with a little bit of resourcefulness. Thanks Heavens! So I did not have to go to Ahnvee or similar spots and have no pointers on that.

I tried three places for fish. One was a recommendation of a forum member (Jorge Mayra #64 even though I wanted to go to Aris #64 but did not realize until later that I got to the wrong 64 spot), I also went to a faraway place called Sabaneta recommended by a woman which turned out to be very bad for me. Fried fish of no flavor and that gave me acidity and, finally my favorite Italian place. Classy Beachside restaurant in Cabarete. I have posted two pictures.

Various women visited me. I had actually brought a doll for one of the women's 4 year old daughter. Whose birthday was imminent. Another woman I know, is pregnant and she came to see me too. I had brought prenatal vitamins for her, which apparently is expensive for her. Small gestures make it easy for all and so does the time together. No need to discuss prices, hours, and all those things that at least for me are downers for a hard on.

Interestingly, I had a new visitor who on her second visit asked me if she could bring her cousin and I assented. I bought then Coronas (a dozen of them) and pizza and other small eats. What with my bluetooth speaker, and good Spanish music, we soon had a party. Something I have not had in a while. Curious how a few bottles allow a woman to rub against you, with her cousin present, against the backdrop of music. Enjoyed that quite a bit after a long hiatus.

Went to the New Garden restaurant one evening for my post dinner expresso, and a glass of grappa. Met two young blokes, from Canada. Though one was of Ethopian and the other of Somalian extraction. Had a very nice conversation with the two rookies who then left for Ahnvee.

Was looking forward to mangoes. Very poor quality this time of the year.

With all due respect to anyone acclaiming the superiority of other spots in the DR, Sosua suits me just fine: small footprint, excellent food options and as usual, without any shortage of female companions. It will continue to draw me in.

Nope, not easily offended. More a post for possible rookies. Is what it is. Hey, most of those girls are getting a lot of dicks in them every night. You don't know for sure a girl walking into ahnvee just sucked off whatever dude and is back for more pesos. At least this girl showers first. Since I posted about some to avoid. I thought I would post about a good one. No biggie.

There are way more girls then guys in Sosua. The average girl gets little business during the week. The competiton is very tough. I turn down scores of girls before I pull the trigger. There are atleast 6 or 7 girls for every guy. The top girls get more then there share but the average girl may do 2 or 3 guys a week if she is lucky. You see girls and you know that are not selling any pussy at any price. Many girls are desparate. I have been doing my hobby for many years now.

For what it's worth. A girl I did short time with for 2,500 pesos. Is leaving here with more than 25,000 pesos after working 3 nights. So that's a few dicks. I asked her about all night just for FYI. She said 7,000 pesos. She is one of the hotter girls I saw at Ahnvee.

The last few girls have all quote 3,000 for short time. But the most recent one quote me 4,000 for two hours. I came back with my standard 2,500 and she said it would be only one hour. I thought for a second and figured that is all I really needed. So that's the deal that got made. Was fine for me.

Some of the local chicas just won't go to the Ahmvee pro meat market, just for appearances sake. For them it has a bad rep, and they are all marked immediately as hookers. Might as well pin a menu on them and give them a ticket machine, LOL. The pros obviously love it and they make a good living. The place is always full enough.

But for the semi and occasional chica, it takes away some of their game, the allure of a GF fantasy, for a night, a weekend or even a week. Just like in the old days.

They are hanging out with their GFs, at home, in the smaller bars, and picking a some of their business from regulars and their smartphone contact lists. These are the ones some visitors prefer. Someone who comes out preparing to meet a guy for the evening, clean and fresh, and not still dripping from the other 5 guys she's just come from, and not in such a godawful hurry.

They are building a new big spot up in the area, and a couple of other bars will be opening, so it looks like there'll be a choice of places to sit and chill, with or without a chica, like downtown used to be.

That is, unless Willy gets elected and moves the action downtown again, but I don't see that happening.

But even though the chica parade is over, you can still pick up casual chicas at the corner of Rosen and up from there.

As usual IMHO and YMMV.

Ahnvee is pretty slow tonight. 200 peso cover. 150 presidente, 200 corona. Two guys walking out empty handed before I do. Sucks if you have a short bench. Wanted something new. Went looking on the street. It's ugly puta night on the street. Walk by a clothing store. Hey what's that. Shit a mannequin. LOL.
