Hey guys, I don't think 40-50k pesos will work. I was going to do something like that on the Terrace at My Place for $10 (20, 000cop) cover charge, bring your own boose and the girls would be there, I think that was reasonable. But 40-50k pesos, I don't think you'll have too many takers, not even me. You pay 15-20k pesos cover at Fase ll and San Diego Grill and you get to see a whole lot of "naked" pussy dancing around. Why pay more to see a bunch of clothed ladies that will probably charge more than Fase ll and San Diego Grill. You guys are going to have to be more reasonable if you want it to work and not be just another Dead End Club like The Dollhouse. But that's just my humble opinion.

He tells me the place will not be for Colombianos per se, but for gringos really and Colombianos that pay the admission can of course enter.

Gringos staying at the CB1 and 2 admission free and the general public will pay an admission to keep out the gawkers who come only to nurture a beer for 4 hours and watch the chicas only.

He's thinking 40-50K peso entrance for general public, but undecided still.

Still waiting for word for the license, maybe opening in a couple or few weeks.

Hi Ricker,

I totally like the idea and everyting you said. The onlly hold back would be the 40-50k pesos cover charge. A 10-20k pesos cover is reasonable. That's what all the clubs, including Aqua in La Estrada to Mangos and Fase ll charge to keep the trash out. I like the idea and I'm sure Bob will be smart about the cover charge. I would go myself at the above suggested cover charge and would reccommend it to my guests. Everything you said sounds good and I "know" the girls can be flexible according to chemistry.

I think it's a great idea. I have my My Place, but I have always talked highly about The Mansion, if you have the money. I'm not to kin on some of Aussie's comments on this board, but we all know that his just a big brute from down yonder that sometimes forgets his manners when he speaks. But other than that he's ok and runs a good business on the high end. So all in all, if you get the cover charge straight and are reasonable with the beer and liquor prices I think it would be a great idea. Good luck!

Just saying. Ricker. We scuffle once again! Hahhah. You make some very good points (as always) about guys wanting to party at CB1 or 2 and about SD and FDos being rip offs and finding the Wild Rose in the jungle of thrones that is Mayo.

I would like to point out that I did wish Medellin Bob well on the project and that I do think it is an interesting concept. I was not trying to be a "nay-sayer" rather putting out on the table a different and unbiased points of view. It's like when you and your buddy were teenagers (might be too long ago for some of ya'll to remember! LOL) and you're are all fired up to sell Tshirts and your mom and dad rain on your parade by talking logic and real numbers. They're not trying to kill your enthusiasm but real thought has to be put in and not a just a "Great Idea" and let's hope it works; Hope is not a business plan. I'm not a wet blanket kind of guy but you have to consider the competition and who is going to be your core market.

In any and all business ventures / life adventures you have to see all the alternatives, angles, and possibilities. Could this be a great opportunity? Hell yes! Could it be a flop as well? Hell yes!

At the proposed pick up joint or the CB1/2 Annex you have to ask: Do you have enough of a core market to make the project a success?

Let me say that I know what I'm talking about here as I have over 15 years experience in Hospitality-Service Industry and have had the pleasure of working with more than one guest judge from "Top Chef". From a Bar / Restaurant perspective I'm on point. I'm now in Sales and Marketing so I know a little something about that too. I'm not some "on-line hard-dick" who's talking out his ass; I can back up my thought and words with facts and logically thought out ideas. A radical concept on this board I know.

"Gringos" (I'm using gringo as a pronoun and not as a pejorative so let's not fire up that old tired argument please) who live here now are NOT going to pay a cover / door fee. They have their "novias" and more importantly they know where to go for "Pussy Economica" so why go to CB1n2 Annex and pay for something they already have in their back pocket or cell phone? You can't even get these these cheap gringos to pony up for a decent tip when you split a check with them or they ask for separate checks (which is lame in the states and super-lame in a foreign country) so how are you going to get them to pay just to walk in the door? The word I've learned in Colombia is "chichipata" I believe. I think I spelled that wrong. This demographic is mostly out of your core.

"Colombianos" who monger also know where to roll for some side pussy from their wife and novias and you will NOT get any sort of $10-$50K cover from 80% (if not more) of the Colombians, they simply can't afford the extra tax let alone take the girl back to their parents house for a date. You going to let them rent a mattress behind CB2 or have extra large bathroom stalls?

"Non Mongering Colombianos" or normal people if you will, are not going to hang out at a place with a gang of out-of-shape-silver fish gringos chatting up prepagos. Lunch crowd or business lunch people? Nope. Family out to diner for Abuela's Cumple? Nope. Carolina and her girlfriends pre-gaming before the club? Nope. Carolin's Mom and her girlfriends splitting some apps and wine talking about their nietos? Nope. Juan and Carlos just got paid are thy going to pay the door charge and split a bottle of aguardente? Nope. Hector and Anna-Maria on a date looking for a nice place to eat? Nope. Not with this business model, well that's how it sounds to me. None of these people will go in all likelihood. Even if there is no cover Hector and Juancito are not going to bring their amigas to split a few bottles of aguadente on a Thursday- Saturday due to the nature of the business.

Right their is you lose the majority of your "Regulars" and if you've ever owned a sub shop, won ton joint, any business for that matter knows your regulars pay the rent, lights, ect.

Which Brings me too.

"Vacation Monger" = Bread and Butter. Are there enough VM's to sustain a business let alone make it successful? This isn't the DR, Panama or CR for the time being so it's not like they have bus loads of gringos all over the place. (Thank God)

From what I understand CB makes loot from it's hotel business and other services and not the Girls. How are you going to make MONEY? Door Charge, $$ for a Chica Drink, tax the girls, tax the monger when he leaves?

Ricker said that a Mansion Girls appeal is the GFE. 100-150K for a few hours. What happens when 10 guys take out 10 girls and your left with 15 guys sitting at the bar and only 5 girls are available? Those girls that were taken out aren't coming back for a few hours or if at all. Those 10 guys that are with out a girl are going to leave and then how are you going to make money? An empty chair drinks no beer, eats no food.

Are you going to bleed the CB1-2 talent pool dry by offering these girls to any VM with the $20K to get in? Does this not compromise the "exclusivity" and benefit of staying at either CB? You just going to let any prepago come in off the street to set up shop?

This is not a personal attack, I'm sure you can see this by reading the post and not skimming. This is a forum for discussion and I am just presenting an alternative point of view. I feel that all the questions I have brought up and summations are fair to ask and to consider.

I just like they fact that I can preview the goods beforehand. Another problem is that the girls will come around and ask for a drink and drink it straight out the cola bottle. They also have a tendency to act like the shot glass is their personal cup. I've learned that if I chew some gum then put the gum in the shot glass, they just turn their noses up and walk away.

But this is true of every SC in Medellin, no? I don't think I've seen this anywhere else on the planet, but is standard procedure in Medellin. Is this still the cases? (I haven't been since 2006 also). It always annoyed me to need to have a stack of small bills and constantly pay this "tax" every few minutes.

And the bars which only have imported beer. And many, no beer at all (only liquor). Always make things a little more difficult. There are many clubs in Colombia which won't serve you unless you buy a bottle of liquor which makes things a lot harder if you're flying solo!

It was a simpler dance (strip) club with much cheaper prices for booze and chicas both, was much less "americanized" back then.

I think it's a good idea. I like CB2, but often I end up in an apt. What I miss in an apt is not the women, because I can find them or have them just like everyone else, but the camaraderie and opportunity to bs with my fellows. It's possible that I could pick up a chick there too, but that wouldn't be the object, because I've already got that covered. But as everyone knows, there are many hours in a day, and it doesn't take that long to session, so what do you do then? I'd like to socialize. If they charge a significant cover, which they should, perhaps they can make money off it, in addition to sales of beers and drinks. I would like to point out that I did wish Medellin Bob well on the project and that I do think it is an interesting concept. I was not trying to be a "nay-sayer" rather putting out on the table a different and unbiased points of view. It's like when you and your buddy were teenagers (might be too long ago for some of ya'll to remember! LOL) and you're are all fired up to sell Tshirts and your mom and dad rain on your parade by talking logic and real numbers. They're not trying to kill your enthusiasm but real thought has to be put in and not a just a "Great Idea" and let's hope it works; Hope is not a business plan. From a Bar / Restaurant perspective I'm on point. I'm now in Sales and Marketing so I know a little something about that too. I'm not some "on-line hard-dick" who's talking out his ass; I can back up my thought and words with facts and logically thought out ideas. A radical concept on this board I know.

The word I've learned in Colombia is "chichipata" I believe. I think I spelled that wrong. This demographic is mostly out of your core.

First of all, I have nothing to do with this new venture of Medellin Bob, he just happens to be a good friend of mine, and I've seen him start and run businesses before, even before the Mansion was a concept, and he just has a knack for it.

He is not opening a new night club in Manhattan, he's converting a garage into a small bar / diner with the added benefit of chicas available.
Simple. He's not trying to sell a business plan to a bank for a loan.

The building is already paid for, the chicas aren't being paid by the establishment, as a matter of fact, there are more than enough of them that would love to return / start working at the Mansion and / or new Garage bar.

Word gets around.

Let's see, they can work in a casa for 8 to 10 hours making half of 30 to 40K pesos, OR mix it up with gringos with money, paying 100 to 150K pesos or more, get maybe a nice meal, drinks, etc and they build up clients.

This idea is a winner and the entrance fee means "I am a serious customer looking for a puta to pay. Also I have money to buy a drink at the bar" (My 2 cents=$40K cover and which would include a 20K credit on a tab good for today only. Keep the water bottle assholes OUT. In the beginning the balanace of girls to customers will need to be adjusted, sure, but many girls would be on call. When clients arrive at the bar and there is a lack of women "Have another round gents I am calling more girls now". More bar sales.

For the most part the free entrance should be for the guests of both establishments. But Obviously at Bob's discretion he can hand out a VIP card for a gringo living here who is a regular customer who spends money on food and drinks for himself and the ladies and someone who partakes in the p4p. Obviously this guy is a high percentage profit customer. As opposed to the cheapos. Bottom line is every guy walking in should be spending 40K as bar revenue.

Speaking of cheapskates they don't do Fase II nor Lunas or anything high end. They try it once. They watch the COP / USD FX rate everyday.

Just sayin'I would suggest that the bar idea has been well thought out by my friends at CB1 & CB2, but experience tells me differently. Aussie Greg, has a good heart, but is one of the most impulsive people that I have ever met. I hope the pros and cons of this new business and all of its ramifications have been considered. I don't know Bob that well, but he is a big boy. Did I say decisions have consequences? Despite my occasional complaints about the general disorganized state there, I always enjoy my infrequent stays. Decisions have consequences, and my Colombian Piasa makes it difficult to provide the CB's with my patronage. It is with minor irritations, simply a great place to vacation: beautiful girls, friendly staff, and some very interesting fellow guests.

Poblado is not el centro. Most if not all of the recent issues of substance at CB1, in particular, have been complaints from the neighbors. It is surrounded with high rise apartments inhabited by some of Medellin's upper class. All they have to do is go out on their balconies and everything that is going on outside the Mansion can be seen. No more naked girls jumping into the swimming pool on Sunday afternoon as was the regular fare. I really like the extra stimulation that an on site bar could bring to the CB experience. But, what will the neighbors think and do? I'm sure the CB boys have thought about that and have a plan. Maybe I'm just an eternal optimist.

My Medellin Piasa is in Argentina for a semester there until she returns to America to complete her education. So, I'm off to my virgin trip to Rio. I'm excited, and for me and you, I'm wishing.

I have never stayed at the Mansion. So correct me if I'm wrong on this. It seems part of the appeal of taking a Mansion girl is the GFE type of time she spends with a client. I have read many reports of one of those girls spending a lot of time with the Mansion guests. This along with the GFE tenteded to make the appox. 150 K a good deal.

Now lets look at the real LDV. Anyone who has been to CTG and taken a girl from there almost always notes the desire of the girl to finish up in a hour or sooner so they can return to the bar for another client. I think the same thing will happen here in MDE. The girls for the most part in the Manson are satisfied to get that nice 150 K and then they give good service in hopes of a repeat or at least her John telling the other guests how good she was. This will most likely not happen as the natural greed of human nature will make them want to return to the bar for another slice of the pie.

So I think the cover or lack of is not the real problem here.

Speaking of covers lets look at Classico in Sosua. It is around a couple of bucks at most. Help when it was open was I am not aware of the price if any. LDV and Electra was zero. Tequlla rock in Lima was around $8, but free coupons were always around.

Since LDV seems to be the benchmark here than lets briefly look at the CTG scene compared to MDE. MDE has 30 to 35 k beautiful Centro Casa girls. The only Casa I visited in CTG was 100K and not that great. SW in MDE are 25 to 30 K where CTG I think 50k is about as low as you can get. (I'm talking quilty here ). So my main point is 150K is OK for the guests staying at the Mansion for the value they recieve, but that same 150K in a LDV setting is not a good deal for the experenced MDE monger.

There are only so many high end customers in MDE as the recent closing of the Dollhouse proves.

Hell, open it up and give it a shot, but beware you may be hurting your bread and butter original business.

BTW excuse my use of the Mansion insted of the proper names CB1 and 2. Old habits die hard.

Hi JG, you know you and I are on the same page on most things, but I beg to differ on a couple of points. As far as the girl wanting to be back within the hour, that's something that can be discussed and agreed upon ahead of time. And like Ricker said it depends a lot on chemistry. They would still have the same incentive to provide good service for the very same reason you stated,"repeat clients or the guest testifying as to how good she was". I don't see where that would change. And as far as the Mansion, any new service, if successfull, brings in additional revenue. Even a small cover charge as I proposed of 10-20k pesos can bring tens of thousands of $ a year. When I did the calculations for My Place, it would have brought in, if successfull over $100USA thousand a year and I wasn't going to sell liquor, that was just from the cover charge. So I think it can only be a "win, win" situation for The Mansion.

Hey Ricker, I try to be a straight up guy with everybody, I don't exagerate or misrepresent. But your continuos theme of the "one gem" at La Mayorista tells me you are either blind or purposely deceitful. I try to be fair to you, but I think you are either blind or just tired of the whole Mayorista scene, but that doesn't give you the right to misrepresent it. I go out with regular beautiful women all the time, lawyers, acountants, engeneering students, but I can still see a lot of new talent an "hotties" in La Mayorista. I would suggest that the bar idea has been well thought out by my friends at CB1 & CB2, but experience tells me differently. Aussie Greg, has a good heart, but is one of the most impulsive people that I have ever met. I hope the pros and cons of this new business and all of its ramifications have been considered. I don't know Bob that well, but he is a big boy. Did I say decisions have consequences? Despite my occasional complaints about the general disorganized state there, I always enjoy my infrequent stays. Decisions have consequences, and my Colombian Piasa makes it difficult to provide the CB's with my patronage. It is with minor irritations, simply a great place to vacation: beautiful girls, friendly staff, and some very interesting fellow guests.

Poblado is not el centro. Most if not all of the recent issues of substance at CB1, in particular, have been complaints from the neighbors. It is surrounded with high rise apartments inhabited by some of Medellin's upper class. All they have to do is go out on their balconies and everything that is going on outside the Mansion can be seen. No more naked girls jumping into the swimming pool on Sunday afternoon as was the regular fare. I really like the extra stimulation that an on site bar could bring to the CB experience. I would just like to comment about Frank and Franks place. Even at the risk of Frank getting a little excited at me.

His place is pretty nice but nothing fancy and its inexpensive. It has three bedrooms with safes that share one bathroom. (wear flip flops!) This was never a problem for me other than 1 or 2 times having to wait a few minutes and in fact on a few occasions I got to see a few naked female strangers. All bedrooms were occupied by youngish guys who both seemed pretty cool to me. Hung out with them a couple of times for lunch and beers. I kind of expected the place to be like a party spot from all the photos. It was not. I tried, but it just didn't happen. But I did bring friends up and the other guys had friends up which made it kinda cool in its own way but not a party. On the street, there were many fugly chicas but almost every time I sat down or walked around, with a little patience, I could find at least 1 or 2 I liked who also requested very reasonable rates. Hi HT, fair report, just a couple of things. There are 2 bathrooms for 3 beds. I don't know how far back it was when you visited, but that's the set-up now. Or, maybe the second bath was under repair and you didn't see it with the door being closed. As for girls not comming up to My Place, that proves my point of new talent all the time because dozens of girls from La Mayorista have continually come to My Place in the last 4 years. You can see many pics in this same forum and in the emails I send my guests of many of La Mayorista girls partying at My Place, so that's not an arguable point.

Chemistry and trust is important for "newbie" girls to come up, but it's easier if you say "come to my Hotel" up the street than to say "come up to my apartment", as they are all familiar with the hotels, but the "apartment" thing might sound a little "eerie" to some of the newbie "hotties". Well, I think I will chime in and provide my perspective. Feel free to leave me out of any pissing context that may or may not continue.

I have been to MDE a few times, for work and play. I have stayed in a hotel, at the Casa Blanca, and in an apartment. I love MDE, and that includes La Mayorista, and CB, and the casas, and the Centro clubs. Each have had a place in making my trips fun. I would find La Mayorista a drag to hang out in every night, just as I would find CB too cookie cutter to spend all my waking hours in. Both a great, but every, very different.

For me, the key to a good trip is to experiment with different areas and experiences, and to learn what works for you. I prefer longer sessions and TLNs. I am a lover of GFE. I also like three girl BBBJs. You usually have to go to different kinds of places, depending on the country, for different types of experiences.

Ok, none of this is very insightful or earthshaking (a am tired and my brain seems to be on sabbatical) , but my point is this. The purpose of this board is to share experiences that allow each of us to have better times when we monger. Why people feel the need to bash the experiences of others, I don't know.

Critique and evaluate, yes, but getting into personal wars? Yes, I have done it as well, but it is useless.

I do think there are some basic guidelines for La Majorista.

1) not for the faint of heart.

2) Spanish helps.

3) Patience is a must.

4) you need to be able to negotiate well, IF you want to do anything outside the half hour norm.

5) It is not safe or unsafe inherently- there are risks you need to pay attention to. Don't walk around alone off the strip late at night. Don't flash money. Watch for chicas who are total druggies.

6) 9s and 10s are rare. 7s can be found. Most chicas are ugly.

While I did not stay at Franks, my pal John Gualt showed me around and we did hang out with a couple of chicas there. It is a decent place and the price is good. It would be fun place to stay if you had three guys and rented out the place- I personally would not love the idea of bumping into random dudes and chicas in my apartment, but I am bit of a control freak.

Frank, I do think that things would be better for you if here if you did not act as if you have to "sell" people- that is what pissed off a lot of guys when you were posting on CRT. You seem like a decent guy. If I would you, I would provide your information a bit more dispassionatly.

But only partly because it was a lot of fun at the beginning, all the parties and phucking and screwing around, but after 4 years everything grows old. Too much of a good thing is still too much. So now I leave people in charge of receiving my guests and giving them the introductory tour of La Mayorista. But it's a good business and a person can't just walk away from it. As long as they keep comming My Place will be there forever if need be.

I just recently posted about my experience in Bogota and gave lots of details, did you see it? Have you been to the places I mentioned. I'm familiar with El Centro in Bogota on 19th street. I loved it there and did not find the need to go anywhere else. What is the CCS thread? And is Beba from Caracas, Venezuela or is that just the name of a "casa" in Bogota? She looks pretty hot.

You might have notice from the number of their reports that it seems like they sit behind they're computers jacking of on what comments they can make. Seems like they have nothing better to do. With the exception of Aussie and myself, since we have an obligation to provide info and response to reports because of what we do. Most of my guests come to have fun like yourself and then move on to other places, except for the regulars. They don't have time to spend most of the day writing reports like some of these loosers, with the exception of John Gault and Vic Pics (wink) wich love sharing their experiences and helping people.

I got Vic and John when they were newbies about 3 years ago, they stayed at my personal residence their first time since My Place was full, and then they stayed for months at a time at My Place. I introduce them to the scene, but then they grew wings and became experts in their own right. They're main goal was to become senior members at ISG. They ask me how to accomplish that and I instructed them on how to go about it, and again they accomplished that with flying colors. At least their goal in ISG is to provide info, unlike some of these other career responders.

You can almost feel the bitterness and jeoulousy drooping from their mouths, specially after I posted the pics of my lawyer friends. That must have really got their teeth grinding, they even threw doctors in the mix of which I unfortunately don't have any as partying friends yet (but I do have a couple of great Orthodonics which I can recommend, just ask John Gault). Reminds me of the black "ooze" that comes out of the "villans" mouths in the movies, I think it was "the joker" in the first Batman movie, played by Danny Devito. First off, I'm no expert and have only been to MDE four times. I'm just an old f*rt like the blind squirrel, trying to find a nut.

I like Mayorista, but then again I also am in Tijuana a couple of times a month, since I live in southern California. I would add that be careful of age when in Mayorista. While there are many of the "washed up skanks", there are also quite a few who haven't reached the correct age yet also.

On our last visit to Mayorista we (five Gringos) were enjoying a table. At the table next to us three ladies sat down. The were way over dressed for the area. They weren't getting much action, so I invited them to our table for a drink. One left shortly. Of the other two, one was older (late 20's; but still hot) , who was with an 18 year old (cedual confirmed) who she was teaching the ropes. I had sessioned previously, so my friend took them back to his room where they spent over two and a half hours. These were VGL women, way over dressed for Mayorista, that gave my amigo an excellent session, for less than the cost of one session at Fase Dos. There are exceptions to all rules. In Mayorista I can always find several women who I consider VGL, along with the "washed up skanks. I also understand that Mayorista is not for everyone.

I also understand that Mayorista is not for everyone.Good stuff SS. If one has the time and feels like a change go to The mayorista and seek out your diamond in the rough. They do show up, but there is a great deal of hit or miss. If you are into quality girls all in one spot the mayorista may be a big disappointment for you.

As for the hotels there, even if they are nice on the inside the Mayorista is in the middle of nowhere and one could be bored rather quickly. It is technically not in Medellin but one of the outside municipalities. Only about 15 mins in cab on the highway from Medellin centro.

But if you are staying out there and see no women to your liking at least you can walk back to your hotel and not worry about spending 14, 000 to get back to your hotel or to centro casa or strip club or wherever you are staying.

The mayorista is good to experience and visit after you have Medellin somewhat under your belt. After a few days or a few visits depending on how fast a learner you are.

Trip Report May 2011.

Well, just got back from Colombia this week, and let me say it was nice. Colombia has some fine ass chicas. I will say that the crime myth was a joke. Never felt unsafe. As usual in these mongering destinations, the taxi rides are the most unsafe part about the trip. I never avoided so many wrecks in my life. Fase 2 was the best place hands down. They had the best looking women. San Diego, I thought, was run down. The girls weren't nearly as hot as F2. The casas were cool, but you couldn't interview the girls before picking. That was one big downside. It would have been nice to see who I clicked with instead of going 100% on looks, which is all you can do at these places. I think the owners should turn the casas into mini termas. Let the girls walk around in their thongs and mingle around. Why they haven't thought of this is beyond me. There is a huge opportunity for a casa owner to clean up by switching their business model to a terma type environment. Loutron would be perfect for that. It's big enough to do it and they could make alot on drinks. This place could really take give Brazil a run for its money if they tweaked some things.

Well, just got back from Colombia this week, and let me say it was nice. Colombia has some fine ass chicas. I will say that the crime myth was a joke. Never felt unsafe. As usual in these mongering destinations, the taxi rides are the most unsafe part about the trip. I never avoided so many wrecks in my life. Fase 2 was the best place hands down. They had the best looking women. San Diego, I thought, was run down. The girls weren't nearly as hot as F2. The casas were cool, but you couldn't interview the girls before picking. That was one big downside. It would have been nice to see who I clicked with instead of going 100% on looks, which is all you can do at these places. I think the owners should turn the casas into mini termas. Let the girls walk around in their thongs and mingle around. Why they haven't thought of this is beyond me. There is a huge opportunity for a casa owner to clean up by switching their business model to a terma type environment. Loutron would be perfect for that. It's big enough to do it and they could make alot on drinks. This place could really take give Brazil a run for its money if they tweaked some things. From your lips to God's ears!

Yeah, I remember back in the day when I first started posting about La Mayorista 4 years ago. There was a little accountant named Pauly from the Mansion. He would trash and spam everything I would say about La Mayorista and made it seem like Hell on Earth and then he would send me pics of all the girls he had been with and taken to the Mansion from Mayo. Which happenned to be most of the girls I was hanging with back then, got to admit he had good taste. He would send me pics of with Karolina and Tatiana and a bunch of others with him in the pool at the Mansion. So I know what you mean about protecting your "favourite hangouts" in Brazil.

Talking about Brazil, way back, maybe 15 years ago I read an article in "Men's Health" on how there was a country where "women chased men", it was about Brazil. Back then it wasn't about money, the women would hang out with you for free for weeks at a time just to go out and party. They were not working girls. It was said that if you did not compliment a girl on her beauty it was consider an insult. You could go in any small town or bank and flirt with the girls and they expected it and did not get offended.

I had a friend from Spain that went there and confirmed what I had read, he met no working girls, just regular girls wanting to party. I still have the magazine. Always wanted to go to a little town that was mentioned in the article,"Bello Horizonte", but then I started comming to Colombia, Cartagena, Cali, Barranquilla 10 years ago, and finally Medellin 6 years ago and just lost interest in going anywhere else. Got to give you credit for opening and maintaining your successful business there on the Mayorista, which ironically is one of the reasons that I don't post about my favorite new hangouts in Brazil, God forbid another entrepreneur opens a "Place" out there, next to my new hangout. Hahaha.

Hi HR, finally someone with some commonsense and balls and not afraid of these "cyber bullies". I thought all my friends had abandoned me. I guess most people are afraid to get into controversies against guys so aggressive at "cyber bulling". Unfortunately for them I can hold my own whether it be "fighting with words" like a girl, or as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitoner when protecting myself and my guests at La Mayorista, until I finally realized I didn't need to. But I did get into a scrap with one of the drug dealers back in the day, with some ugly guy that looked like a rat, literally, he was called "el raton". Mostly the drug dealers would be hiding away in some room and the girls would go and get the stuff. But this guy would stand right out there doing his transactions and with a girl in his arms all the time.

Well I was a hard ass back then and he graded on me. So one day I decided to go and say Hi, just to get him out of my system. He got smart and said I only said Hi because of the girl, the, there were almost 75 more girls. It pissed me off, so I stood there and stared him down in a challenging manner. I was either drunk or stupid to forget these guys have back up. Almost immediately 3 other guys step forward and one showed me a gun. I thought they would back off, but all four of them started attacking me. I told "el Raton" why don't you fight me alone and he just invited me to a hidden alley. I might have been a prick, but I wasn't that stupid. So I got in a defensive stand, left fist stretched out, right fist in ready position, but I knew I couldn't hurt anybody lest they have a reason to shoot me. So I just held them back for 3-4 minutes till somebody came and stopped the fight. Didn't feel anything at the time with all the adrenaline pumping, but my jaw was a little swollen the next day.

I came back twice with the cops, but they kept running away the minute they saw me. The police was walking very slowly behind me on both occassions almost purposely giving them time to run away. Finally I complaint to the Sergeant and he gave me the guys "cedula", name and I'd. They knew who he was they just never caught him with anything on him since they hide the stuff in the hotels. And there is a degree of tolerance for that in the area. I was just pissed because it had never been so in the open. I finally reported him to the Colombia DEA and offered to testify, since I had seen him dealing directly. Finally the DEA calls me on the day they were going to arrest him and a couple hours later the agent I was working with calls me back saying that he's supervisor had to let him go because he was part of a bigger investigation. Well, by now he is either dead or in jail. I've seen all them assholes get killed every year, at least 5, it's a short career. Like the lyrics from "Gangster Paradise","I'm twenty will I make it to twenty one". I almost feel sorry for them as none last very long.

Don't worry, they only kill each other not their clients. They never do Drive byes like in the states, they use "sicarios" to target very specific individuals in order to avoid collateral damage. Because if any of their tourisr base, truckers, get hurt they would loose a lot of money. So the area is actually protected from fights and robberies. I was the only fool to start a fight with a drug dealer, but that was me back then, not afraid of anybody, I'm older and wiser now. But it was those "cojones" which allowed me to accomplish what I have in La Mayorista, so I have no regrets.

I appreciate it when someone openly acknowledges my help to hundreds of newbies that have come through My Place in La Mayorista. Thanks HelpRules, it takes a lot of "cojones" just to speak out against these "internet bullies", they are relentless in their attacks. I already pushed the ignore button on them after reponding in an informative manner.

I just accidentally ran across all this and after researching it, I realize this "Girlfriend for a Week" guy who's in the pokey is the same guy I rented an apartment from in Medellín in early 2007. Fuck. I can't remember the address but it was near centro (I don't do east / west etc but it was maybe 4 blocks to the Poblado side of the main drag through downtown) and all those streets have both names and numbers. I am thinking it was Venezuela / 56 but in any case I was very concerned about poor locks, lack of security, possibility of multiple past tenants having copied keys, etc. So I never kept anything of value there and hid my passport. Come to think of it, I was quite broke at the time and had little of value, no computer, nothing. But still my weed and some sleeping pills disappeared, which I assumed to be the maids, with whom he seemed to have some type of "relationship," and who hinted at being available but I am not too into black women, plus never fuck the maid.

Why am I sure it was him? Well, he was avowedly German for one thing and introduced himself as Robert for another thing. That would not be determinative but when he asked me for my ID I asked him for his (just for the fuck of it) and the last name listed in the criminal complaint against him was the same. I remember these things.

Now I wonder if he owned THAT place or had the right to rent it. It was a very new building, a high rise, and was sparsely occupied. I think my floor was 21 or 22 and the thing would sway in the wind. I used to stand out on my balcony and watch them put up a building across the street using really dangerous techniques. I think I posted about all this way back when. I wondered why he didn't want any deposit. We agreed on two months at I believe $500 US. It had three bedrooms and two or 1. 5 bathrooms; I was expecting a buddy but he ended up canceling. But when it came time to pay the second month I just bailed because things weren't going well and he just shrugged. Surprised me at the time but makes a lot more sense now!

I admit I was into doing things with minimal paperwork and so forth back then. Now, not so much! In general I am glad I got out of Colombia with my ass but now even more so. Oooohee baby.

One of the funniest things I remember about that place: When I got to Colombia I kept smelling weed everywhere and it made me want some. I didn't know shit about anything because I never research anything, so after a couple of days I started asking everyone who walked by smelling of weed if they would sell me some. Finally some hippie type with a guitar said he didn't have any to sell me but he stopped and shared his joint. I was totally paranoid due to not being used to smoking in public. So then he said he could go get me a joint for 1500 p (2200 p/$ then, approximately). I hadn't smoked in months and was already in another world. I said,"Ya know I am hesitant to just give you the money because you might just take off." Yah it was 75 cents but my mind wasn't working that way. He said,"Yo no soy así" (I am not like that). I sort of equivocated or kinda hommina hommina hommina and he said he would leave his guitar with me as collateral.

This made no sense to me because I had already offered to tip / pay / propina whatever him. So I asked him why he trusted me with his guitar and he said he trusted me and off he went, leaving me standing there on the street with his guitar case. All kinds of paranoid thoughts went through my mind: the guitar case is a bomb, this is a set up, blah blah. Weed does that when you smoke for the first time in a while. Anyway, he came back with a joint. I offered to share it with him and he pointed out that I was still holding the roach from the first one we had shared. Oh yeah, right. So I gave him the land line to the apartment and told him if he could get me 20 grams or 25 grams (whatever was legal. 25 IIRC) I would give him a commission. Again he pointed out he was not a dealer and so forth. Absolutely refused to take 1000 pesos or anything as a tip of any kind, and told me to just walk two or three more blocks to Parque Periodista (which solved my problem but that's another story).

What's that got to do with the apartment? Well, when I got back there and smoked some more I got TOTALLY paranoid: "I gave him the land line and he will reverse google it and set me up or fuck me over or rob me" or SOME shit so I decided to hide the roach. Where to hide it? Fuck fuck fuck paranoia will destroy'ya. So I decided to put it in the hollow railing of the balcony.

When I went to stick the roach in the balcony railing, I found two roaches twice as big.

La Napa Central Strip Club / Brothel

I have made three visits to La Napa Ladies Night Club, Carrera 50 Nro. 52. 10 Telephone 511 94 26 Medellin. It's a truck Drivers tourist area, some truck drivers use them to stay awake like in the USA and in any other place. I never get involve with it and drugs are prohibited at My Place, some people still get away with it and the girls that use it, but I tell them ahead of time that I won't take the fall for it. So I have been in La Mayorista for 4 years and never get involve with it and don't personally see much of it. I have friends in El Poblado that want to come to La Mayorista and hang out with me, and I avoid them precisely because they want to do drugs.

Like I said, I know people from El Poblado that come to buy drugs at La Mayorista, so it doesn't matter where you stay, is what you do with it. Marihuana is not allowed anywhere in La Mayorista because of the smell, and with police presence there all the time it's not allowed. So girls have to go way up in the Hotels to smoke it, or far away from La Mayorista. I know of at least one guy that stopped staying at My Place because one of his girls wanted to smoke marihuana at My Place and I would not let them, he's well known at ISG. Kind of rediculous when you think about it to want to smoke on the balcony at My Place when "CAI del Norte" (police station) is right accross the street.

My beef has never been with the La Mayorista vs. El Poblado, just with the "cuties" and misrepresentation of quantities and quality. If you have the money to stay in El Poblado and pay $75-100US a night for a room and $100 for 1 of the 8-12 cuties that everybody else is phucking, plus your food, more power to you. That's what I did when I first arrived to Medellin 6 years ago. I spent 3 million pesos the first 25 days through a Marriage Agency,"Colombian Sweethearts".

In La Mayorista you'll get room, board (at local restaurants) and the "cutie" for around $50US a day. For that price I'm willing to sacrifice some of the luxuries of El Poblado, plus I can go out and hang out anywhere in Parque Lleras or El Poblado whenever I want by taking the Ayura Metro or a Taxi right down the stairs from My Place. Taxi from My Place to Parque Lleras is 5-10 minutes and under $3-4US. I agree that La Mayorista is not for everybody, specially if you are OCD and are used to high end accommodations, but it's great for more travelled and experience mongers or mongers on a budget.

It's not that complicated guys, there is room for everybody. Not everybody needs to or want to stay in El Poblado, and not everybody needs to or wants to stay in La Mayorista. But in the process we have both made lots of men and mongers happy. This is not rocket science guys, everything that could be said about La Mayorista and El Poblado has been said. All anybody has to do is go back and read the reports, I have over 350 and others many more.

What is strange here to me is that people spend days if not weeks talking about what to name the new Bar at Casa Blanca, post hundred of reports and comments on and about Casa Blanca aka The Mansion, but if anything is said about La Mayorista it becomes controversial. The only logical assumption is that there are spammers or sell outs to this establishment that want to stiffle the competition. I don't use people like that. I could also offer sweet deals or "packaged girls" (for $15US, not a problem) to my guys and I guarantee you they would be more than glad to duke it out with these "spammers" and there would be a war of words like you have never invisioned. But I don't operate that way, and I don't need to. I do this as a hobbie and I'm more than happy with my guests.

Decided to check out la Mayorista and Luna last night.

La mayorista has been described here before, it does seem like going to Tiajuana for a night. I enjoyed the experience, and it would be better with a group of guys, but I'd be hard pressed to see myself touching one of those girls.

I did see maybe 3 that looked good, but the best one walked past quickly and kept going to god knows where by all the warehouses and factories in the next block (this was at about 11 pm).

I'd definitely go back. In fact, it would be my back up plan every night that something didn't work out anywhere else.

I spent 6 months in Cali in 2009 and loved every minute. I paid a quick visit to Medellin during that time, and liked what I saw. But, the reports, and many friends, told me I had to invest some serious time in Medellin, because I was missing the boat. BIG TIME. Just got back from a 90 day visit.

The women, Paisas, are DAMN BEAUTIFUL. And there are a ton of them. Actually, I think 70% of the women in the city would respond positively to a solicitation even in church. PERO, son incompledos, insinceras, why interesas. Besides, the place has turned into a factory, especially in El Poblado. If you are a gingo in El Poblado, it is 100% assumed you are a monger. The poor girls form the mountains know it, the upper class in Medelliln assume it, the police too. So, you are walking around with a bullseye on your back. Be aware.

The girls are organic versions of slot machines. Everything is for the money.

And, I hate to say it, but Medellin is a DAMN dangerous place these days. I don't like to tell stories that scare. And believe me, I travel the edges of the entire city. But, all would be well advised to BE VERY CAREFUL these days. It is hot.

BCEO. Since you're black and thus I can safely assume you like booty, I suggest Cali or Cartagena. Both cities have more diverse populations so will have gals with more cushion. Heh heh. There is a more difference between low and high ends places than the difference among geographical areas. High end places in Bogota are similar to those in Medellin and Cartagena. Since Medellin is relatively cheaper, just come to Medellin and try both high end and low end places. You will like them. As for a hostile response to you here, these people are hostile to anybody.
