Good and bad news! Have seen a few posts (1) the news 6-8 months back and (2) will there be a change; are the two things that were raised.
(1) Post the 2005 ban there was a challenge in the Bombay High Court which was carried to the Supreme Court and the ban was lifted. However the licenses which had expired were not renewed and hence the DBs did not start immediately. This was probably about a year back. Some people seem to refer to this news as the news 6 to 8 months back. The Government then came out with a fresh ban. This was once again challenged and the SC seems to have stayed the operation of the ban. I am not quite sure whether the ban has been lifted completely or it is merely a stay of the ban till the SC finally hears the challenge to the ban.
(2) do things change? Well the answer to this is not as simple. Firstly the DBs will not immediately operate as before as the licenses which have not been renewed since 2006 will first have to be reissued after applications are made by the bar owners. This itself may take a little while in my view. Secondly as ruffmeup pointed out it is not a simple stay of the ban, but a conditional one where the SC has directed the govt to take steps to ensure there is no obscenity, which is broad enough a handle for the cops to exploit the bar owners. What is obscene and what is not is very subjective, so how they dress, how they dance and whether they can be picked up easily are things that only time will tell.
This takes me to the earlier days when the girls used to wear 'attractive' clothing and entice customers to splurge money, whoever splurged maximum money cud definitely pick up some of the girls. This also largely depended on which girl you focus on and most of the times you could also end up getting nothing at all. Some bar owners wud have their own men splurging money and the girls putting up a show of giving these guys a lot of attention so that other customers spend money like fools with nothing in return.

But there was something odd about that call. Because just before he spoke, I heard the voice of another very gruff and frankly scary sounding man who was asking something about the photos he sent. What exactly it was, I didn't hear. But it was enough to make me suspicious.
I used google to image search the pictures the guy had sent me and found the pictures on random websites.

It had been a lazy week so headed out for some action. Reviews for ut were flowing from everyone on the forum so headed to check it out. The salon area was quite well maintained.
