Hmm, still think Pacific Disco is pretty respectable if you keep to the bar area. I left a motorbike helmet with the parking guards one night and returned 3 months later to find they still had it for me.

The only pub I'd recommend to newbies in the Nagoya district is the "New Place. Sports bar" as it is the pub that seems to be consistently busy with all walks of life. In most of the other pubs in the Nagoya E District the only other punter you will see is yourself reflected in one of the gaudy mirrors. Where's day 5 of the report BP?1) All discos are respectable and NOT dangerous, except the fact that so many people is addicted to ecstasy. Batam is considered dangerous only by the Singaporeans, because they are used to live in a very sanitized environment, and just crossing the border with Malaysia may make many of them thrilled. I have a very good opinion about the honesty of 99% Indonesians, and I am not surprised to read about your helmet.

Pacific allows you to see the face of the girl you are talking to and also some conversation. Working girls in Pacific are generally not attractive, but it is often possible to meet some girls who go there just to have fun with friends, and may like to spend some time with a bule.

Most of the pubs are as you describe but quite a few aren't. The NonName girls / party crowd usually meet up in these Nagoya bars first. BP you'd get quite a surprise if you walked into some of them, Wine Bars with married couples, not any working girls on display.

Some have family lounges upstairs. By invitation only. The invitation only part being so the locals can keep the bored drunk expats out. Nagoya is actually a pretty juxtaposed town. This is why the oldtimers are often reminded of Singapore's 1970's Bugis Street area when they visit Batam.

DSIf you stay in Nagoya, by all means you should arrive at Harbour Bay. Prima Ferry is the only company now serving HB (schedules online). Wavemaster now serves Batam Centre. Scroll back the thread up to 2-3 years ago (not so many pages) and you'll find a lot of information about logistics (you may look for my posts in particular).

I was in Batam last week for 5 nights.

My 2cents: there is no reason to go to batam unless you live in Singapore. Fly to Cambo, LOS, PI or Jakarta, but not Batam,

You will be disappointed.

My second advice: if you have to go avoid weekends.

Pubs area: few girls, many are 25-30 that I wouldn't look at in AC, but everything is relative.

Many were a combo of older, smoking, drunk, and lesbian, in one specific bar they were all lesbians.

On Saturdays they all become drink sluts and are not interested in going out before bar closes.

On weekdays they were more attentive. Girls here asked for 1mill LT which gets you most.

Off late the scene there has gone to the dogs. I am just exploring Batam as an option for 1 or 2 nights when I am passing through and avoid having to put up with the sorry scene in now what has become of singapore.

I also believe basis my my last visit that one needs to spend 5 days min to explore and enjoy the options available in Jakarta.

The only other option left is to pray and hope that things change in Singapore, which is a long shot.

My last day in Batam. I am due to check-out at 18:30 to go to Harbour Bay to catch my ferry at 19:15.
This week has been busy. After one week spent bonking 1, 2, or even 3 times a day with the variety of girls duly reported in my previous posts, honestly I feel fed up. However, for you and all, don't ever think it's so easy as it seems reading! It took me a lot before understanding how to move there. It's not trivial.
Also in this thread, there is quite a number of reports of people who was disappointed of the experience in Batam. 95% of posters here say: "I won't be back".

This is not Pattaya. Serioulsly, I would not recommend Batam to anyone seeking a sex-tourism experience. This is different. Some of the pittfalls:
- where to go? (there is no Orchard Towers, no Geylang)
- how to communicate with locals? (few speak English)
- how to know what is the right price for services (taxi, girls, escorting...)? (don't let the local provider understand you have no clue)
- how to avoid scammers? (plenty of)

It took me a lot before understanding how to move there. On the other hand, also in this thread there is quite a number of reports of people who was severely disappointed of the experience in Batam.

This is not Pattaya. Seriously, I would not recommend Batam to anyone seeking a sex-tourism experience.I had a good time in Batam over my 5 night visit and I met some truly charming girls including two Bule bar girls, a stunner brothel girl, and an amateur in No Name who was the highlight of my stay. It wasn't that hard to get acclimated, but you are most definitely right, BlackPage; Batam IS NOT Pattaya or AC. For example, my two bar girls would not or could not barfine me. Instead they preferred hooking up with me in the afternoon for lunch and shag.

It is a question of whether you can enjoy being a big fish in a small quirky pond with only a handful of places to go to meet some great girls or you prefer being a small fish in the big blue Ocean that is Pattaya, BKK, and Jakarta with almost limitless variety. I found Batam to be an enjoyable change of nightlife scenery for a short time frame. A 5 night trip was good for me. This is the summary of my girl count for my stay of June 2015 during Ramadan (7 days, 6 nights), as duly reported in my previous posts.

In spite of the popular belief that Ramadhan would be not a good period to visit Batam, I had one of my most striking experiences. I've got a similar impression also in previous years.
Indeed, during Ramadhan joints are closed at day time, but they are open at night, or accessible by alternative ways in the day anyway. Besides that, there is a whole world of opportunities to explore (massage pick-up joints should be the last chance).
The good thing is that there is less people coming from Singapore, because most people simply does not know what to do. The overall result is that there are more girls available and less competition, if one just knows how to move around.

BP, What your FRs provide is the biggest draw which is "Potential". There exists an opportunity for a good time in Batam provided time is spend in figuring out the Venues and MO here. Needless to say liking for Indo gals is a prerequisite. I am not saying that one should fly all around the globe for Batam but if someone is passing through Singapore and has few nights to spare Batam can be an option.

Indonesia has its mobile comm operators and they work well.

Is this your first time you go abroad? When you go abroad, your home SIM works in roaming in the local networks: high costs for calling, receiving, and Internet access. Buy a local SIM for a local number with local prices.

If you want to access Internet abroad with the phone mounting your home SIM (for example to use WhatsApp), you can use any WIFI access point (public or not).

Some interesting news, which may sound totally new to some ones, yet well known for others.

One of my best friends in Batam is a girl who I met years ago in Newton, offering sortem as many others. If you don't buy a local SIM card (e.g., TelkomSel Simpati) to use a phone in Batam, but you prefer to keep using your usual phone with your usual SIM (e.g., to keep using your WeChat and WhatsApp IDs), then you are bound to using WiFi to access Internet. In most hotels, the wifi is good, but the wifi provided by restaurants and cafes mostly sucks.

If you give up using the wifi of JCO and restaurants in Nagoya Hill because they are slow and run out of IP addresses to assign, as I gave up, there is a good alternative: the @wifi.id network, available almost anywhere in Nagoya, Jodoh and I assume around Batam cities.

One week access is only 20k payable by SMS from a Simpati SIM card (I have TWO phones: my Galaxy smartphone and an old Nokia with Simpati SIM card). Once you pay, you receive an SMS with ID and password.

The speed of @wifi.id is acceptable in Nagoya (adequate for web browsing and chatting), but very slow in other places, for example Ramayana mall Jodoh. Now, I am using it always, instead of asking the pw from restaurants or cafes. It is available also in Harbour Bay and Windsor. That's very useful, because you can be online also using your regular phone almost anywhere without expensive data roaming.

I'll bring my work with me so I'll have something to do during the day. And have two nights to explore the scene a bit. Weekdays. So could be bad then again who knows. Not expecting to hit jackpot but hope to get a feeling whether further exploration will be worthwhile.

KoI must be the only silly one who spends hours to tell stories. And I don't do that every time. I went to Batam several more times, without producing at the end the long monster series of reports day by day. I do that only some times.

Singaporeans post on SB's Forum (if you can bear Senglish).

99% of Western and Australian men in Batam use to go to pubs in kampung bule and just that. Not much to report from there, and besides that it's also not what I seek in Batam. They go, drink beer, play pool, take some not really fresh girls from there. They would never book a girl from joints, or step into a disco. Not the appropriate environment for them. Indeed, I remember I saw 1 or 2 white people in Newton or Pacific besides me IN ALL MY LIFE.

I went back from 2013 and there are not lots of different people reporting. Could have gone back longer and maybe will but with all the info collected I think it's time for a field trip first I prefer to experience things and then read up on it. It helps me relate better and my feeling there was different than what I was expecting from reading here.

Was just a simple walk from Goodway or what was Melia Hotel down to grab them then back to hotel. Prices then were about 250-300K LT. I remember going on your own would save you 70K compared to if taxi driver took you.

I have recently returned fro Batam after a 10 day stay. I arrived Wednesday and lodged at Swiss-Belinn which is always nice.

The days are spent playing golf or trawling the Plaza's or Massage at Club Atlantis.

This trip I was going to try something different and see what the new joints in Kampong Bule where like.

Tuesday, Planet Zone was quite till very early. So I just enjoyed the Music and met a few girls. Went back to Hotel at around 3 am with a nice girl but she did not speak much English.

So that brings me to Batam. Nagoya- Kampang Bule. I have never been there. The reports so far (on here and on the web) are wildly varying. Some say the place is the ducks nuts yet others say it's boring as bat shit. I guess the only way to find for myself is to just go there.

I've been lurking on Badoo / Blendr / Skout (with a spoofed location of Nagoya) at various times over the last few days and it has only taken 20 minutes maximum each time to find a girl willing to come to a hotel and look after me. About 700,000 IRP ($70) seems to be the going rate. That's cheaper than BKK!

(why should I and others take the time to write reports, which are long as much as thousands of words, if one does not even take the time to read and ask again the same?);

2nd) to attack someone who spent days (not hours) writing here just to help newbies (those who can read, of course, that's the only basic requirement).

It had been a common practice on this board or on many other boards that Newbies help themselves first to whatever information is already on the board, explore on their own, and come back to share their experience thus endorsing themselves as a contributor before any members will help you with any updated information. Many newbies came and left because they do not know the basis of sharing and do not bother about the basic concept of this board. They always thinks that this is a help desk or a Travel agency website, ask and you'll be served. Unfortunately No, that's not how it works here.

I never bought it here, but this is what I know from others.

Stay away from locals who know where to go. Plenty of scammers and fake products or dubious "generic".

I must say that, even if many of those reports are dated back in time, things did not change much. Things to do and opportunities are still the same. If you read my reports (also several reports by others are instructive) you will learn what are the opportunities, but certainly those reports are not a tutorial to teach "how to".

What changed in the last 5-10 years is the following:

1) Prices went up a lot.

2) The white man (bule) is not considered a dream thing anymore. 5-10 years ago, if I just walked along streets a bit out of the center of the center, I was getting lots of smiles from ladies and attempts to get a new friend. When I went to a disco bar like NoName, virtually no girl, regardless her beauty or the fact she was accompanied or not, was out of my reach. Now, it's not like that anymore. People is used to see more bule around, and more ladies have a passport and then can go to Singapore to spend their money. It's still dream land for me, but things have become considerably more difficult.

My advice: stay 3 days and keep your expectations low. You will have time to have some good and bad luck, some disappointments and some events to remember. If you go one day, it's like betting all money on the red at a roulette. You can either double your money, or lose it.

Take my reports not as "what you will get" or "what you will do", but as "what it is possible" (probability of success depends on luck and personal ability).

In Batam, you can a) hunt or b) shop girls. If you are a hunter, the pubs will be your place. You might meet a regular lady who likes you, and you will have a fantastic time (leave her a "tip" anyway); or a FL who for a reasonable money will make you much happier than FLs in Singapore (half money for double fun) (please do NOT overpay). If you are a shopper, your place are massage joints where you book a girl till next morning. I don't do that, or not anymore, because I get bored by having this girl in my room from afternoon till next morning.

Do not forget: very few people speaks English. You should speak some Bahasa Indonesia to reach the best opportunities, especially with girls.

Last advice: do not think you can get 100% with one day of experience on place. I took years to understand how it works, what to do, where to go, what to hope, and even to learn to not be disappointed the few nights I go sleeping alone (yes, it still happens to me, but few times).

Immigration is never an issue, except on public holidays when there are mass transfers. Moving from Singapore to Batam and back is easy and hassle free.

Flying direct Batam-Bali is a good idea, instead, avoiding to do Batam-Singapore-Bali in one day.

Skip Batam? If you stay there only 3 days in a trip that includes Bali and Bangkok, it will be easily where you will be disappointed. It's difficult to get the best on such a short time. Things are way easier in Bali and Bangkok.

OK, for Australian it took longer for the VOA for free to be put in place, I wasn't sure it had gone through but the website for Bali says it has. Just got back from a brief trip to Batam. I had been badgering Black Page for info via PM, and he was kind enough to provide useful tips. Since this was my first visit, wasn't hoping for much. Stayed at the Allium hotel, which is fairly OK: Clean rooms, fairly good WiFi, clean bed linen and towels, decent breakfast, located at a 2 min walk from NED, the only downside was that the in-room safe in my room was dead.

Reached around 1300 hrs and was given the room right away, no need to wait till the published time of 1400 for checkin. Checked and answered a few mails and then went for a stroll to familiarise mysekf with the lay of the land and see the location of various establishments. The usual touts asking me if I wanted a taxi / ojek / girl etc etc. Had a beer and light lunch before heading back to the hotel for an afternoon nap. Once in the room, I fired up we chat and tinder to explore options. WeChat was full of massage and room service options, which didn't catch my fancy. On tinder I had been in touch with a lady for about a week before visiting Batam, messaged her and she agreed to come over for a coffee at 6 PM. Had a nap, woke up at 5 PM feeling refreshed, had a shower and then down to the lobby to meet the lady.

It was clear, all they were interested in was eating and drinking at my expense. So I ordered another beer, had half of it, excused myself to go to the toilet downstairs, and just walked out of the place. They must have had a shock when I didn't return and were presented with the bill. I know some of you might say that they are poor girls etc etc, but well they were trying to have a party at my expense with nothing in return.

Got back to the hotel, it was just 8:30 PM, so answered a few work related emails, then watched TV for some time. Finally at 11:30 decided to head out again. Didn't find the friend attractive enough. Decided to move on, have one drink at no name before heading back to the hotel.

It was 1 AM by this time. No Name had a fair crowd, bought my drink and stood at one of the tables facing the live band / dance floor. AT the adjacent table was a group of 3 women and one guy. He was dancing with them taking turns. Dancing if you can call drunken monkey jumps a dance. One of the women from his group placed her drink on my table while dancing, and on the way back she picked up her drink and said sorry she kept her drink on my table. My experience in Batam was amazing.

We were a group of 4 friends, on a hunting night in Batam. One of our friend local in Batam & frequent to many massage parlors. He asked us whether we want to go to best place.

I suggested 2nd best actually, he was surprised, but understood what I meant. (it would be slightly cheaper but with similar level of services).

We had our dinner first & drove to this place. A very well managed on the 1st floor of the bldg. As we were four, our other friend suggested to take a discount, which our local frnd said they would not accept.

We said try still & hurray! We got 20% off on the rates with spa & massage. High in mood we went inside, took a shower, then a sauna & steam bath. We gave our selection & waited outside for our turns.

15 min later our turn came.

We went inside respective chambers, as I was getting undressed, the female was surprised to see the size. She was about to faint, she said, they only has small in here.

I said its a normal avg size for us.

Grt massage with super level of service, no FS. But, HJ was worth it.

So if we forget Harmony pray tell what is your hotel of choice?I replied by PM. I do not feel comfortable to recommend a place to people here, because everyone has its wishes and desiderata.

I stay at Formosa, the best 3 starts in my honest opinion, but others will prefer to have some more comfort or luxury.

I would simply recommend to go check a booking or trip advisor site, check ratings in Nagoya, and pick the one you think suits better to you.

There are many good accommodations, and for prices on the order of 1/3 vs. Same type or room in Singapore.

I've spent only 2 nights there which obviously not enough to understand the landscape in detail but here are my 2 rupees as a first timer to give back to the forum.

Felt safe, not as safe in Thailand, but still safe.

Pussy is cheap. Pricing very similar to Thailand. Merchandise seemed better than what's available these days for farangs in Thailand, which is my benchmark for the region. Beautifully pear-shaped bodies; long, elegant legs, fuller asses and breasts. Jakarta or Bali must be even better. The girls I could get from the KTV (Golden Bird which is in walking distance to Harmony Hotel) were decent enough, but they cannot compare with some of the gorgeous girls being delivered to Formosa Hotel. Didn't have enough time in the island to crack right distribution channels for that level quality.

Indonesia is Muslim but this is irrelevant. Things are more discreet than in Thailand but other than this pussy is still very easily accessible. I found the mix of loud female moaning in pleasure with the call for prayer from minarets very refreshing and exotic.

Yes, you understood it right. The first time, you just learn how to move around the main places. It's not a destination for sex tourism, where you disembark and you are spoon-fed. Here, you must learn where to hunt and how to do that, before beginning to have the real fun.

Tried Noname on a Thursday evening. Wrong night probably. Was not happening. There were 4-5 hookers who were OKish. I don't qualify to give advice on Batam. I was in Singapore for business and I escaped for two nights without any pre-planning. Just skimmed the reports here, mostly yours, and pulled the trigger.

I stayed in Formosa. I didn't like the hotel but location was good. There is a shopping mall, many restaurants and lots of family massage options in is vicinity. In Formosa, I saw lots of working girls in the hallway and lift on their way to their clients. Some of them were drop dead gorgeous whereas others were monkeys. I have no clue from where one can order these hotties. But they exist.

Of the three photos, two belong to the same girl from Golden Bird. I believe the KTV where I picked that girl is called Golden Bird. I say I believe because there was no sign outside. I just followed directions I found online. It was on the opposite side of the main street passing in front of Harmoni Hotel, behind Batam Star hotel in a street corner. Permata Indah, another recommended KTV, was either shut down or I failed to find it. I didn't like the girls in JV Happy 8, another KTV, but it was quite late when I got there.

The other girl was from WeChat. She was clean, enjoyed sex and she was very loud and wet. However, she was a mother of one and it showed. If I saw her in a fish bowl I would not have picked her. But I was so horny and already had returned two girls from WeChat so I kept her. I paid 500 K and sent her away after one shot. The KTV girl was 19 years old, very tight and quite attractive. I stayed in Formosa. I didn't like the hotel but location was good.Besides the location, I elected Formosa as my home in Batam for a few more reasons:

1) Quality / price ratio (there is a Membership Card which entitles a reduced price, besides free nights after a while, and further negligible discounts on the order of 10 k for massage, drinks, etc, which I really do not care about).
2) Staff which I trust 101% (but most of my old staff at reception left since a few years already).
3) Room size.
4) BED SIZE: yes, not everywhere I can sleep in a triple size bed, where 3 persons can sleep in full comfort (I will not elaborate further why this is a strict requirement for me*).
* No, it's not because I am that fat LOL.

Some of the bad is that ojeks would hassle me for 3-12 blocks and one persistent guy was screaming "WE GO TOGETHER. I WORK HERE" and is the first time in Asia for a very long time I almost lost it. That said I never felt unsafe but man Batam Centre is a dirty dirty place. Yes there is a lot of girls but what I mean the streets, alleys and so on is filled with rubbish, rats and cockroaches. Next time over I will most likely rent a motorcycle and go explore more of the city but also the island.

Thanks in advance for an honest feedback.You are in luck today as I just got back to Singapore from Batam last weekend. All the reviews online are outdated hence a new review would help you out. If you are in SG I'll be heading back this weekend to spend some more time there.

I hopped a ferry last Friday with an upgrade to business class using Horizon fast ferry. 48 return plus an extra 10 each way for business. This is defensively recommended. The whole immigration and boarding is so simple and easy so I arrived in Batam fresh and ready to go. I hopped a cab and paid 50 k for my 2 kilometre trip to Harmoni hotel. Some people say that you should only pay 20 k for the taxi but for 5 dollars all up who really cares.

After I checked in I walked straight out into chilli bar and had myself a few beers. SAN mig light goes for 3. 50 each and if you buy 4 you get the 5th free. The bar was full of girls and a lady drink will cost around 5-7 dollars depending on the bar. The girls aren't amazing like LOS or PI but it was fun regardless. Unfortunately there is no more gogo there so it's only regular bars however still great fun. A few out of the way bars had some really cute girls who will cost around 40 for barfine and 100ST Negotiated.

I spent a lot of time at cock and bull and a must try is their meat pie which is the best pie I've ever had. Again cheap beers, friendly waitresses and a good vibe. I never checked out no namedisco because I was too drunk or asleep but I can tell you even on weekends the place is dead, so quiet which means it's a fun Wild West town of your own to explore.

Don't compare Orchard towers to Batam. 60 dollar ladies drinks to 7 dollars it's an easy choice. The vibe is also excellent in Batam just the same feeling I get every time in Pattaya or Angeles.

This is a must do so don't think about it just book it in. PM me if you need a wingman.
