9% of Costa Rica population is expat, and 75% of those are from Nicaragua. So somewhere between 2 and 3 percent of the population, and that includes all other countries, not just the US, have little to no effect on inflation in Costa Rica. Perhaps in real estate in a few of the prime coastal locations, sure. But that's not what determines the prices at Mcdonalds for Ticas or Ticos.

Hard to get that even in San Jose if you are not a regular or waiting till the end of the night and a girl with no takers stays 12-6 am or 3 am to free breakfast if she likes you.

With the inflated prices in Jaco sometimes I think its worth bringing sand to the beach especially for overnighters or 24 HR days in a row.

I've been told that the going rate in Jaco is 150 US per hour and 450 for overnight. Those are the rates that the girls expect although they may ask for more. Not saying that some would not discount from there but that info is from a gal that knows and she would also ask 100 in San Jose but go for 80. And for sure there would be variation from those numbers, but that is the average for everything but the very top tier of say 5% of the girls that would ask for and get more.

Set up for the bar you refer to is the same. But you can go through it and out into the next part which is the jungle bar, and is huge, with multiple levels and large screens etc. Etc. They don't always have it open, but evenings especially weekends it is and you could easily have a couple of hundred people in there and it would not be crowded.

I was in SJO the last week of April and had a good time. I stayed right across from the Taormina so I was in there every night after my touristy day. Almost every gal quoted me at 100 usd although a few quoted me at 120 usd and one quoted me at 200 usd. Needless to say, I passed on the higher offers. They do have parking, while not next to the hotel, it is on the same block on the side street with full gate so nobody can brake into it.

I have always stayed at Dunn Inn for a few reasons, Centrally located to action and restaurants downtown, also the rooms are great, I usually go for the middle tier ones, the food at the restaurants is actually not bad. I always recommend it.

I stayed at the Hotel Dunn Inn which is literally right across the street on the corner of Avenida 11 and Calle 5. It's about a 1-2 min walk to the Tao. The entrance is kept locked at night with an armed guard on post. My room was small but breakfast was decent. The front desk and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Just beware there is a $20-22 USD charge for each Tica you bring back. And they don't offer any kind of shuttle from the airport although they will call a taxi for you going to the airport or anywhere else in town. Hope this helps.

Sounds very overpriced, plus if you have never met her it may be a waste of time and $ since you don't know the service that will be delivered. Plus that's like bring sand to the beach since there will be plenty of girls there that you can choose from. Why limit your self.
