Problem is guys don't know any better or they wouldn't find many girls. Almost every guy I know IRL all of which have been coming to Thailand over 10 years has found another monger destination they prefer over Thailand. Mine are currently Jakarta and Japan, subject to change as the market changes.

Jakarta has always been fabulous, even in the early 00's, back when Stadium was rocking and Tierra Sierra was open. I haven't been there in a while, because actually there's very little to do during the day. Now there's some wonderful traveling and trekking in Indonesia and doing a weekend in Jakarta as bookends is kind of cool.

I absolutely love Japan. One of my favorite places and I'm even considering getting an akiya, but I've never mongered there, I'm always too busy eating, walking around the cities, being out in nature, going to baseball games etc. Skiing for sure this winter.

Forgetting about the prices, and the fact that we all probably have a lot more money now than we did, during low season Patters was almost empty, well empty in terms of punters, there were lots of girls, and few guys, which made it quite wonderful. Soi 6 on a weekday afternoon, well, you might see two or three other guys walking down the soi, and that was it. I would also contend that the girls were considerably more fun. Soi 6 was all enclosed bars and not open bars with loud music. Once the night watch group moved in, it ceased to be interesting in my opinion. Soi 6 in the afternoon, Go-Go's at night, and then Marine disco late. It was a lot of fun and as I said very few people during low season. It's packed all the time now and with a very different demographic, one I really don't care to associate with.

My salary was 54 K USD 20 yrs back, now I make over 250 k USD.

Most people going to Thailand now make much more than they used to make before.

Of course for people who live on retirement savings or limited monthly income, current prices in Thailand will sound expensive than they used to pay before.

But for new generation the prices feel reasonable.

In 15 yrs when I retire, I would compare today's prices with prices that time, and definitely I will be very upset.

Take the avg Sexpats.

He made $35,000 in 2000. I wouldn't be surprised if he still makes $35,000.

Sexpats are not known for Progressing income.

Rich and Famous are not attracted to Thailand. Broke and poor flock to Thailand like there's no Tomorrow.

I think Jakarta is cheaper. Please correct. But why Jakarta over Thailand?

In Thailand, Patts and the general Suk area is very centralized, I've read Jakarta is very spread out and getting between mongering areas is chaotic.

Please educate me as yes, have never been to Jakarta.

Jakarta makes sense, but Japan as mongering destination is interesting choice.

I never been to Japan, but I understand it is expensive place to live.

How do you compare it to Jakarta or Bkk for prices? Do you pay 2 to 3 times more?

I Remember, but now I start forgotten, memory go away likes SANDS, where all that girls that I meet 20 y ago, where they are now, but 20 years ago the price was 300 for the room and 700 for the girls.

Yes, I think Soi 6 reached its absolute peak in the early 2000's. Prices were cheap and quality could be excellent. Red Point alone had three or four total babes. I knew a couple who had worked as top go-go dancers on Walking Street but realized they could have more customers and get home earlier by working on Soi 6. Then there was King Kong at its most raunchy, and the excellent T. G. Bar and Thai Rose and My Friend You and so many more. Nice memories.

I remember all those bars fondly. Red Point did have some amazing lookers, also had a great one at Ruby that was thin, pretty, light skin, no baby, loved to be spanked, perverted, and can take a pounding. 500 Baht, which was $12.50 USD back then. I'm absolutely amazed at what guys are willing to pay now for girls I wouldn't give a second look to. But then again, the punter demographic was extremely different back then. Aside from the Japanese who went to separate bars, it was all Europeans, OZ / NZ, and North Americans.

I agree. I was two times in Pattaya, both disappointing.

In Bangkok I found good or very good quality for a reasonable price quite every day.

Bangkok have a better quality that Pattaya at the same price.

Your definition of GFE should be close to 100% in Bangkok. Most Thai girls are not very good kissers though unless you're willing to train them. If you're as you described yourself you should be 100%.
