Will keep this short and sweet as this addresses many prior posts. Came back from Quito last night after six days:

Night Cats - total hole, smells like my old high school gym locker. Only 3-4 girls present and none higher than a 6. Sign posted reads: Chica - $10, suite - $5. No cover & $3 for a regular pilsner.

Extasis (or Extasy - I assume they're the same?). $18 cover with three free drinks. Only good if you're a whiskey drinker. Albiet, there were many girls and ratings from 6 - 8. Didn't get any quotes for on premises activity. One chica did quote $200 for her to come to our hotel. We declined and probably could have gotten it cheaper as it was early and we didn't negotiate. It looked a little too pricey so we left.

Vibrations: Must've been an early, slow night. Only two girls, maybe 7's on the scale. $3 for regular pilsner.

Casa de Medellian (sp?): Like being in someone's basement. We (four of us) were put in a small back room with no interaction with the girls. There were 6 - 7 girls, none higher than a 7. Had our one beer ($3 - no cover)) and left.

Cafe Rojo: Jackpot! Amazing place. No cover, $2.50 for small pilsners. Must've been 20 girls ranging from 7 - 9 on my scale. Had a private dance with Gabbly, hot body, mid-20s. The private show was $20, the second of two songs she was totally nude. Next, spotted an exotic creature, said her name was Pamela. Hot younger, maybe early 20s. Nice face & lips, beautiful eyes. I asked if she wanted a drink and she ordered an Amarito (sp?). To my amazement it was only $2.50. I had been told a drink for the girls was $15! Anyway, we made for the back room ($20) and had a nice, albiet short session (bj w/ condom) and nice fuck. Afterwards, she sprayed myself and herself with rubbing alcohol. If I ever go back to Quito, I'm there every afternoon!!

Street Girls on the Amazones: Many girls on the street corners around the Hotel Mercure and Hilton Colon. Some were good enough looking, but only wanted to go back to their "room." Several were also spotted on adjacent street corners to the Amazones, but the taxi driver said if you stray too much you take great risk. One girl quoted my buddy $26. And beware, there's one corner where the "girls" are all black, and my guess is that several of those were TV's or TS's, unless that's your bag.

Casino Action: Saw none of that, like you find in CR and the DR by comparison. The girls are there to gamble, not hook-up.

Hope I didn't bore anyone with old hash......but, all in all, I'd go back again.

Oh, hotel recommendations: Stayed at Hotel Quito the first two nights, $40 a night (via Expedia) and very nice rooms. Too bad it's a ways away from the action. It does have a very nice outdoor heated pool and nice casino as well (1-cent and 5-cent slots, $1 minimum card games). If we wanted to extend our stay there, they quoted $100. Breakfast buffet waaaaay too steep at $11.50. The hotel offers beautiful views of the city below. At all costs, don't get the 1st floor. My buddies were there and didn't sleep too well with all the noise.

Next three nights, Hotel Sebastian. We got a walk-in offer of $50 per night and 50% off the breakfast buffet ($3.95). Very nice hotel and walking distance (3-blocks) to the Amazones and found several blocks of eateries and drinkeries walking distance from the hotel. Beers ranged from $.60 - $2.00 for grande. Many places had 2-fer specials. Also, the doormen at the hotel have chica contacts, but can't bring them there. It has to be a cheaper hotel down the street.

I thought you had come to the conclusion it was the IVA (TAX) not the tip. They include the IVA automatically. With cash payments they include only IVA. with CC payments they do both IVA and service (TIP).

That's what all my receipts show.

That's what they'd like you to believe, at least at Papayanet. For instance, my bill was $3.60 for a salad, plus $.99 for the water. A total of $4.59. With 12% IVA is $5.08, if I recall correctly, my bill was a total of $5.60 or so. I didn't keep the receipt, but I know when I asked the waiter about it, he did fess up that the 10% service charge is in there, even though the receipt is printed with 0% service on it. Seems rather deceitful.

Other restaurants print it clearly on the bill, such as at Hunter and BAires. I ate at a place on Colon today, El Brasero, and all prices included both IVA and 10% service charge. I only pay cash, so a credit card charge doesn't come into it.

Many countries have a table charge, I first ran into it in Paris, and then in Italy 8 or 9 years ago. It's usually in the $1-$3 range. And usually covers the bread/butter and perhaps a small appetizer. The most expensive one I've seen was at Cabanas Las Lilas in Buenos Aires. They did include a fair size appetizer platter with that, but it was way overpriced.

I actually think that 10% is an easy amount, and quite fair for most of the world. Go outside of the US and Canada, and you'll find that tipping 15-20% is usually not the norm. I always try to both pay and tip like a local, or otherwise they'll take gringos for chumps, and the prices will spiral.

I've never been to Dollhouse, but for Extasis and 5:15, I found that the only differences between those and somewhere like Nitecats is that (1) they're much more expensive, (2) they're really vigilant about not letting the women give their numbers out like in the US clubs, and (3) the music sucks; it's like deafening techno or house music. And to top it off they're kind of out in the middle of nowhere, wherease Nitecats is right across the street from a major hotel.

I don't know who goes to these places or why. I'm baffled. Any insights?

Not sure many people do. The girls probably get a % of the drinks like they do at NightKat. They get 25% at NightKat off the drinks the guys order.

What is the deal with the service charge ?

The service charge is the tip. This is added in much of the world, and is not a table charge or such. I think they often try to take advantage of gringos and double dip on the tip. It's also added to many hotel stays too. I know I paid $12 for this charge at the Hilton, for one night. Needless to say, no other tips were forthcoming.

I think people are shooting themselves in the foot. Normally the service charge is alot less than I would leave for a tip if I had good service.

There are places that have tip included on some forms of receipts and not of others (like credit card and cash). They do shoot themselves in the foot.

Last night I went out with an older friend on this tour to visit 515 and Extasis. I would have gone back to the Doll House but didn't want to spoil the memories of my two unforgettable evenings with Molly there. Accordingly, I had a chance to compare the three purportedly top clubs in Quito—the Doll House, 515, and Extasis. And in addition, I wanted a little variety.

In my opinion, which is mirrored by a Quiteno travel agent business owner from Quito that I met about a week ago in the rain forest, the Doll House is the best club in Quito. I would say by far. The atmosphere is better. The service is exceptional. It is well run. The girls are more beautiful, and, the girls are not pushy so you don't get stuck talking to a girl you don't like and have to ditch her. It is set up so that you walk over and talk to them, and ask them to join you if you are interested. Or, they are introduced to you when they peck you on the cheek. It is exceptional.

In any event last night my buddy and I headed over early (9:00) to 515. I had heard mixed things about it. I think it used to be better than it is now.

There were very few chicas in there when we arrived, which is understandable. There was one large room with a dance floor for strippers in the middle, and the choice of music and sound system were not that great.

A 4 or so came over and started talking to me, and I got her to speak to my friend. Then an enormous, real breasted girl from Bogota came over.- "Lady"-- and started talking. She was about a 7. Very friendly. Huge breasts, and the rest of the body was not too bad. A little extra fat on there, but very soft and squeazable. She said, and I believe her, that she and her friend, Claudia, had just arrived from Bogota five days earlier.

When I saw Claudia leave, I decided I better firm up plans with Lady. She said it would cost $100 for toda la noche, and that the house would get $30 for taking her out.

However, I confirmed that the girls would enjoy it. I also explained to Lady that I was not sure exactly who did what to whom in such an arrangement. I explained to Lady and Claudia that I had to take care of my friend and that we were going to Extasis for a half an hour and that we had a "pacto" and that we would go to a motel for todo la noche and that I would be back for them.

Accordingly, at about 11:00, after an $88 bar tab of a few drinks for ourselves and the ladies, and a pack of cigarettes, we left.

We walked to Extasis. It was immediately more festive, with flags flying outside the courtyard and some decorative lighting. I gained entrance by asking the four doorman if this was "the" Extasis I had heard about, the "muy famouso" Extasis, the real Extasis. They assured me, matter of factly, that is was.

We were frisked by a somewhat geeky fellow, who really wanted to inspect my underarms. We had not been frisked at 515, and of course, I had been very professionally frisked at The Doll House. That is one indication of the differences in the places.

We entered. The cost, as at 515, was $17 for two or three drinks depending if it was black label scotch (2 drinks) or red label or beer (three drinks.)

Extasis had much more of an atmosphere of a festive, modern club in a modern city than did 515. The music was better. There were many, smaller, dimly lit rooms with little seating areas and covey holes. And there were more girls, who were dressed to kill.

As in the Doll House, they were generally seated at the bar, but there was no dance floor in between where they were and where you were, as in the Doll House, which sort of displays the women as merchandize. We were seated about 8 feet from a row of women, drinking our scotch and smoking cigarettes. The staff very professionally lit my cigarette each time I started a new one.

All the women were eyeing us, with knowing looks on the faces. I sort of felt like we were in a meat market and I was the meat. Since I already had plans I did not really try to talk to anyone. But that was the only way they can make contact. I think there are rules in these places and one of them must have been you don’t approach the customers. That is clearly how it is in the Doll House, but in 515 anything goes.

Then, after a few minutes, there seemed to be an organized rotation. About 4 of the girls that were sitting directly across from us got up an new ones sat down.

These girls were on the average much better looking than at 515, but not up to the Doll House. They were dressed in higher priced evening or club wear rather than provocative street clothes.

After a while I couldn’t stand the pressure and succumbed to talking to a tall, pretty girl who just seemed to be daring me to talk to her. She was named "Tatiana" but her real name was Anna Maria and she was Medellin. She was studying computacion. I was not sure what that was but assumed it was bookkeeping or accounting. She seemed very intelligent and well bred, and explained that this was only her night job to finance her education. She assumed that we were completing a transaction. I then explained that unfortunately my friend and I had other plans. She was disappointed. I let her give me her number, and I told her that I would call her.

We left Extasis. I recommend it. There are some more women in there, and a good selection and it was fun. I have noticed that the sound or music choice makes a big difference to me in these places. Here is was pretty good.

I returned to 515 to pick up my two Bogata friends, and my friend returned to the hotel as we both had to show up to go on our excursion at 5:00 am the next morning. At this point it was midnight.

Lady and Claudia seemed very happy to see that I had indeed returned and that I was not blowing them off.

I paid to take them out. That cost 30 a piece, or 60, plus the girls at 200 and the motel. The fellow then asked if I wanted to buy some rubbers. He charged me $1 a piece for them, and I bought 3. At the Doll House, they don’t charge you for rubbers. Jose there had very conspicuously given them to Molly right in front of me so as to reinforce that I had better wear a rubber with his young friend. The second night, while talking to Jose, he was explaining that it really was a better deal for the customer if you go out to a motel, rather than pay the $150 an hour charge for the rooms there. While discussing this, he said, in fact, I think you need more condoms, and then gave me two or three more.

Back to last night. We went to a motel on the same street as Molly and I had visited. The rooms were not as nice but it had a Jacuzzi, which is very captivating to these girls.

When we got up, there was a festive, celebratory mood in the air. The girls said they really liked me, as I had nice eyes and so on much of which I did not understand but interpreted as positive comments. We caught a cab at about 4:25 and held hands and kissed each other and groped a little on the way back. They told me that they would stop by my hotel at 10:00 the next morning. I went out to Massajes Medellin yesterday, and wanted to report on it.

I went in the later afternoon, about 4:30pm. There were only 8 chicas working. No dogs, but only a couple that I would put in the 7+ range.

I'm not sure if the same Camilla was working as Tung has reported on. This one looked like a 28 year old housewife. Not unattractive, but not what I was expecting from Tung's report.

I grab a taxi outside and the guy uses the meter. It's about 7:45pm by then, and I ask when they stop using the meter, and he says 7:00pm. The ride cost about $1.75, and I gave him $2.

Newbie your post was very good. It was wonderful to view your experience from someone who really didn't know this type of fun could be had. I have never been to Quito but it certainly is on my list. You have helped with your report.

As far as comparisons between cities, there are a few, but you will have to dig for them. Check out Lorenzo's earlier posts. He traveled all over SA and LA and did a nice summary. But always remember everyone has a different perspective. So someone may be looking for a different experience than you.

I would thoroughly read the reports of the city's you are interested in. Then post SPECIFIC questions you may have. Based on your report here and some of the guys who have commented on it, you will get good answers. Make sure your PM function is working as well.

To answer the question, I paid her 120 the first night and 200 the second. This had nothing to do with what we discussed, as strangely, we discussed nothing. Having blown more money on strippers in Vegas, I thought I was getting my money's worth, as this was a experience of a lifetime. I don't want to be guilty of causing inflation here though. But on the other hand I did not want to seem cheap. I have heard from people here that business types and politicians and celebrities patronize this place, and wanted to fit into the general price scheme. And fdI had to guess. I kind of asked Jose, but he just said that was up to any agreement I struck witht the girl and we didn't have an agreement. She refused to discuss it.

I want to go back there tonight, but the first two nights were so special that I don't want anything to spoil it, like some experience the third time that doesn't fit into the fantasy. I am afraid that too much of anything is a bad thing. These memories are worth a lot.

I came here for a normal vacation and discovered an entire new world. Holy shit! By coincidence, I also discovered this valuable website while I was still in Quito.

Damn, man! You take me back to the beginning with that fantastic first post. Ah, the memories. Thanks for the report on the Doll House; I don't think there has ever been a detailed one on the DH. Too bad you don't have more time to explore the wonders of Quito, for you express yourself well.

"Is it real, or an act, or do they kind of meld together in this incredible world I just discovered two weeks ago?" It all depends on the girl and her chemistry with you. It sounds as if she herself was lifted in spirit (and performance) by your enthusiastic, passionate introduction to this new world.

"What is the motivation of a girl like this? She seemed anxious to please. Is that from caring for me as a person, or professionalism, or was she enjoying herself?" Amidst the mundane of any profession are people-experiences to be remembered and cherished. I am sure she likes to be paid like any other person in any other profession; but for some special individuals money becomes a lesser priority than the experience and memory gained. Put another way, "laugh and the world laughs with you ..."
