Only direct flight from Montevideo to Lima is with Taca, which is a good company.
I am pretty sure you can fly TAM with connection in Sao Paulo (not bad place either).

I may be going to Uruguay in July and am planning to stop in Lime on my return.

I want to fly a Star Alliance airline but it seems only Continental/Copa make this routing.

I can fly from Philadelphia, Newark or JFK.

Does anyone have an idea about flying TAM? Or any other suggestions.

Also, while in Lime I was planning on staying at the Crowne Plaza as this is a company paid trip. I don't recall seeing anything about the CP. Is it GF? How about the location?

I will be in Lima in mid-May if any other members would like to get together for a drink and cruise the scene. I've been to Rio, San Jose, and Medellin over the last few years and I wanted to expand my horizons to Lima. I will also be making a short trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu along the way. Have you considered Medellin or Bucaramunga en Colombia?

Not only do they have a nice culture and things to do..but nice girls who love to do it with you. A lot of passion, culture, sincerity.

Of course everywhere you go, including Colombia can be dangerous but if you know how to move I think you can avoid any trouble anywhere.

so i have many frequent flier miles with american, and i speak spanish, and i have decent street smarts and all that. i'm looking to spend about a week and a half to two in september somewhere.

anyway, drinking regularly kind of bores me. what i like is bicycling, hiking, massages and screwing, along with good food. i'm guessing that out of south america, perhaps of all latin america, peru and argentina would be my best choices?

am i wrong? if so, please let me know which country and cities you'd recommend.

in an ideal world, i'd be able to go to one place that had new orleans cuisine, filipina massage therapists/hookers, bicycling paths near green hillsides, kayaking and maybe some weed and culture. any suggestions?

lima, peru is as close as you can get to your wish list. other places have better one thing or another,but peru has the most of what you desire.

I can't speak for all of South America, but I enjoy the food, massage and culture type stuff in Argentina the most. The prices have been going steadily up, so it's not the bargain it used to be.

I can't answer the biking and kayaking, but I'm sure you can find it in most locations.

Lima does have pretty good food, especially seafood. There are plenty of interesting things to do there.

I believe you can still do a stopover on some reward tickets with AA, so you could do USA-LIM-EZE-USA. The LIM-EZE leg would probably be on LAN, but there may be other options.

I haven't heard of any tornadoes in Lima lately.

I would heavily recommend that you keep a log of all your actions, as well as a printout of their website showing the 1 hour 50 minute early departure.

Do you really live three hours away from the airport? I flew into EWR a few months ago, and made it from there to Manhattan (IC Barclay) in a bit over 75 minutes. Friday afternoon, 5pm.
