Went barhopping on Wednesday night, hitting 8 to 10 bars, finishing at Elekta, then brought a couple girls back to my apartment, where we partied until 8, when we got a crazy idea to go to Santa Marta! Called Marisol transport and away we went. Finally shut it down about 6 last night, and just arrived moments ago back here in Cartagena. Sent the girls on there way, and now I am heading out the door to Playa Hollywood with my bottle of Crown Royal and a cooler full of beers, to enjoy the company of Emily, Tony, Fao, and several others, which include a couple girls I called from Pleyclub whom I met on Wednesday night, and are on there way in to celebrate the "Dia de Amistad why Amor", which is the holiday here in Colombia. Should be an exciting time as usual, but hopefully not as crazy at Wednesday night was.

Look for him on Tonys beach. He will have a cooler filled with boose, and a lot of locals dipping into it. If you decide to hang with him then bring your A game as he is a non stop party animal. Believe me I speak from experence.

OK. This is a bit unusual, but where can I find the best restaurants. You know, Zagats style. Ambiance, food, decor, and price. Not just looking for the highest price places, but great food service, etc.

I'll toss one out for you, and it applies if you want good beef with ambiance, professional servers and white table cloth: Quebracho in the old city. You can check out more info, including reviews, on Trip Adviser web site.

Hey, awhile back I believe you pm'd me asking for the contact info for LocoGringo to inquire about his apartment. Hillbilly69 was kind enough to pass it on to me to forward to you, but I never heard anything back from you. Did you stay there and if you did, do you have any feedback on the apartment and your experience there?

Don't want to have too much and be walking around and don't know if it's safe leaving it in an apartment or a hotel. Don't know how reliable the ATM machines are in Cartegena.

I wouldn't worry too much. I find the girls to be very innocent and naive there, especially the LVD ones.

I've had success with the ATMs in Cartagena and I don't always have success with ATMs in other parts of the world.

If I have cash, I put it in a suitcase that I lock.

I know a group that had girls staying day in and day out with them and one guy had an ipod turn up missing. They really had their guard down and that wasn't anything that big of a deal anyways. If you are bringing them back for an hour or so, the chances of something bad happening are even less. You walk from LDV to one of the beach apartments and they show their I'd to the main desk who writes their I'd number down. So they tend to behave and are also generally nice and down to earth people. Many of them want to remain friends with you (they give you their real name and # and facebook info)

In the future you should invest in a Milockie device and some Pacsafe suitcases and such, by them on Ebay they are cheaper. I have stayed at too many places with down right shitty safes or boxes that were run of the mill Sentury letter boxes that one key fits all and or weren't even bolted down. Also invest in a cable to tie all your stuff together to the bed, it is common sense to have all your shit locked away especially if you do TLN.

Davienda gives up to 720, 000 per withdrawal, Servi is 780, 000 but has a 5, 500 fee that is ADDED to amount withdrawn. CitiBank is even more but not sure if the Boca location (Blockbuster) is still open. Contact Juan Ventura for an apartment, most in Laguito are ok for chicas with I'd's. There are many touts for apts, etc, in Cartagena, be careful.

atm machines are as save or as unsave in cartagena as in almost every part of the world (the same type of manipulation is used everywhere. keypads that record your entry, manipulated card readers that record your card's data, hidden cameras etc.). the inconvenience is the limit of 400 000 cop (220 usd) per transaction in most machines. i can overcome this because i have accounts that allow 10 free tranrep001ions per year worldwide which allows to get 4 millions cop per account. usually enough cash because wherever i can i pay with credit card. i know that a number of fellows present in the forum do not use atm or credit cards because of the fraud possibilities. it is a personal choice if you use cards or you carry cash. the apartments i rented in laguito / cartagena had a small safe where i usually keep my valuable including the passport.

Rent an apartment by the beach. Cheaper and bigger than a hotel, they let you bring girls back and it's easy to get into the old part of the city by taxi. Plus the beach areas have nice and reasonably priced places to eat. At night you can hit LDV and just walk with the girl to your pad.
